According to the Mortgage Bankers Association, fewer people are refinancing. Last week,total mortgage application volume dropped 3.1%, it reported.\nTo Boockvar, the bigger story is the refi index's longer-term trend.\n\n\"The levels of refis are at the lowest level since pre-Covid: February 2020,\" noted Boockvar. \"So, we're not getting that stimulative impact from very low rates anymore.\"\nBoockvar went on inflation watch in the middle of last year.On \"Trading Nation\" in August, he said significant progress on the Covid-19 vaccine front would ultimately spark sharp demand.
