本报讯AT&T近日宣布与通用汽车合作，在未来10年内为数百万车辆提供5G连接。

从2024年车型开始，通用汽车旗下所有雪佛兰、别克、凯迪拉克和GMC品牌车辆都将具备5G连接功能。

两家公司表示，在接下来的10年里，“数百万辆下线的通用汽车”将配备5G。改进的连接性意味着更好的软件性能、增强的导航以及更快的音乐和视频流功能。

AT&T行业解决方案全球业务高级副总裁Gregory Wieboldt表示：“通过将数百万辆通用汽车连接到我们全国性的5G网络，将改善现有服务的客户体验，同时为包括自动驾驶在内的下一波创新奠定基础。”

AT&T自2013年开始为通用汽车的雪佛兰、别克、GMC和凯迪拉克汽车配备基于4G LTE的安吉星系统，并在2014年推出车内WiFi热点，去年，又提供了接入华纳传媒流媒体内容的服务。据通用汽车统计，从2014年至今，旗下品牌汽车的数据使用量已经超过1.71亿GB。

One good thing about US press is that they are very good at painting a rosy picture to con investors into their buy-ins. If my guess is accurate, the US will lag behind China, Europe and Asia in rolling out 5G network. It was less than a year ago that they have decided unanimously that they will dismantle current 4G network by replacing Huawei 4G hardware that his the backbone of America current cellular network. Funnily enough there is no mention of this at all. And yet every Tom, Dick and Harry is foretelling the future of 5G in USA. Strange isn't it. All will be revealed when US attempts to be on 5G, they will face a lot of challenges.
