Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts started the week lower Monday morning, declining 0.44% to 2,540.88 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by online video service iQIYI (IQ), which climbed 11%. It was followed by brand platform Baozun (BZUN) and electric vehicle maker NIO (NIO), which advanced 5% and 2.7% respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by utilities company Korea Electric Power (KEP) and thin-film liquid maker LG Display (LPL), which fell 7% and 4.5% respectively. They were followed by education company 17 Education & Technology Group (YQ) and fintech firm Maase (MAAS), which were down 3.9% and 3.8% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firm Infosys (INFY) tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which rose 1.4% and 0.7% respectively. They were followed by Wipro (WIT), which was up 0.4%.
The decliners from South Asia were led by lender HDFC Bank (HDB) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which dropped 0.5% and 0.4% respectively, followed by lender ICICI Bank (IBN), which was off 0.4%.
