Market Chatter: Intel, Advanced Micro Devices Sign Long-Term Deals to Sell Chips to China Enterprises

MT Newswires Live07-23

Intel (INTC) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are signing longer-term contracts to sell data center processors, or chips, to China-based server customers, Reuters reported Thursday, citing two unnamed people familiar with the talks.

According to the report, China is also building out data centers, which require not only advanced chips, but also memory chips and central processing units.

The report said China-based chip buyers are looking to lock in supplies in one- to two-year supply contracts, which do not fix prices.

Representatives from Intel and Advanced Micro Devices did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
