Intel reports 2nd quarter earnings next thursday at 7/22 after trading closes. estimates are Earnings= $1.07/sh Revenue=$17.8 billion and cash flow=$1.98/share. intel has been over 19.6 billion in sales in every quarter in the last 5 quarters except for 3rd quarter 2020 .i believe that the stock price after the report will be driven mostly by the revenue estimate or by any further guidance management might provide. note that there are some analysts who have sales as high as 18.9 billion for the quarter.it seems to me that if intel beats on all 3(cash flow, earnings and sales) the stock should rise on this news...ceterus parabus. bur wall st has had a glass half empty view of this stock for the last 4 quarters and it may take either a high end beat on revenue or some unexpected good news to bring the stock price up after the report. if it falls below 17.6
billion in sales for the quarter then look for a blood bath.call options seem to command a good price before earnings call with the 7/23 @ 59 selling for .81 cents a share almost $2.50 out of the money. I am still agonizing over whether to hold during earnings call or dump it in hopes wall st will have another irrational hissy fit like last quarter. I am leaning towards holding at the moment because options traders are paying more for after report calls than puts by about 15 cents. What do you think my friends? and good luck to all of you!
