Horton, according to RBC Capital Markets.\nHousing has boomed in the pandemic era, helped by a desire for more home space and consumer balance sheets that were flush with cash. However, recent data readings on real estate have been more mixed, with a tight housing supply and higher mortgage holding back sales.\nRBC analyst Mike Dahl has soured on the home builder group as well, and said in a note to clients on Thursday that weakness for the sector could hold back D.R. Horton.\n“We downgrade DHI to Sector Perform from Outperform as we grow more cautious on builder stocks near-term and believe that DHI’s order trends over the next several quarters will limit further meaningful positive earnings revisions,” the note said.\nThe firm lowered its estimates for D.R. Horton, projecting third-quarter orders to be flat year over year.\n“DHI remains fundamentally well positioned, however we believe a combination of flattish order growth and a slowdown in broader macro housing data limits the potential for significant positive near-term revisions and upside to the stock,” the note said.\nThe firm lowered its price target on D.R.
