I believe there are many opportunities to earn profits from stocks that I miss but I usually don't regret not buying them. For example, I watched AMC entertainment's stock price rise from very low to very high and then fall back again. Although I could have earned some profits if I had bought it earlier, I don't regret it because the risk was too high for me. I know I am not willing to hold this stock for the long term.
In stock investment, there are always opportunities that we need to let go of. It's important to recognise that not every missed opportunity is a loss. Sometimes, avoiding high-risk investments can be a wise decision as the potential for loss outweigh the potential for gain. This mindset helps me stay focused on my long-term investment goals without being swayed by short-term market fluctuations.
There are also instances when I want to buy a stock but when the price falls, I adjust my intended purchase price downwards and end up not buying the stock. This happened to me recently when I hesitated to buy a stock as its price dropped, hoping for an evening better deal. However, the stock rebounded and I missed my chances to buy at a good price. From this experience, I learned that if a stock is already at a favourable price, it is often better to make the purchase rather than waiting for an even lower price that might never come.
