Someone posted a great idea to take down the shorts I used to do it to try and confuse the market I would put in large buy and sell orders like 10,000 shares of citi but price it above what I knew was out of reach for the market for the day. As we all know brokers lend our stagnant stocks to the shorts out of which we receive little or nothing, but if we put those stock up for sale out of reach of the market price for the day it will signal the brokers they have to recall those stocks forcing the shorts to cover.
