I believe prices will revert back to fundamental value in the long run.</p>\n<p>I argue that this awareness effect applies more to retail investors than to more sophisticated investors or investment funds, though this would obviously have a flow-on effect on them.</p>\n<p>A more traditional example of this theory is how news and announcements affect share prices, albeit they are more closely tied to fundamental value.</p>\n<p><b>Subreddit WallStreetBets As A Catalyst</b></p>\n<p>The Reddit Community WallStreetBets (WSB) is infamous for its role in the January 2021 GameStop saga, which led to a huge price increase in the retail firm's share price after the Reddit community&nbsp;popularised day trading of the firm.</p>\n<p>WSB is a community of mostly retail traders, some with no formal investing education or prior experience, and utilising margin loans through trading apps like Robinhood (though more experienced traders are present and active in the subreddit) to invest in the financial markets.</p>\n<p>The GameStop saga may be (mostly) over now, but this community is still thriving. At the time of the GameStop saga, the community had less than 3m members, while today it has over 11.2m members.</p>\n<p>Given the almost 4X growth in community size thanks to the amount of attention generated in the GameStop saga, it's arguable that the community is more powerful than ever before in the day trading space.</p>\n<p><b>The Elon Musk/WSB Connection</b></p>\n<p>Musk is famously aware of, and following, the WSB subreddit,once tweeting to his 43m followers a link to the subreddit&nbsp;with the caption \"Gamestonk.\"</p>\n<p>Musk has also claimed that short sellers have a negative impact on the valuation of TSLA, and it's not hard to imagine how he might see WSB as a tool to affect the share price.</p>\n<p>Musk is regarded as a hero by the WSB community, who are very aware that he follows them, and often post memes or comments in a worshipful manner,declaring him a \"Meme Lord.\"</p>\n<p><b>Tracking WSB Community Sentiment</b></p>\n<p>Thanks to a site called&nbsp;Swaggy Stocks, we are able to track WSB sentiment towards TSLA and count TSLA mentions (and various other firms that get attention on the subreddit, such as the infamous GameStop (GME) short squeeze).</p>\n<p>If we take a look at a 1-year history of the TSLA share price vs WSB mentions and sentiment, a cursory glance reveals a general correlation between mentions and upward price activity.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f24f2a63740b288ba4dad63e8fdaed3f\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"490\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Source: Swaggy Stocks</span></p>\n<p>Another clear trend is the overwhelming positive sentiment towards TSLA (and almost any other stock mentioned there) from the WSB community. Search many of these comments and posts, and you'll see the phrase \"Stonks only go up!\" appear across many, many posts.</p>\n<p><b>Do Other Mediums Have The Same Correlation?</b></p>\n<p>Swaggy Stocks also tracks TSLA mentions across more traditional news sources and other social media sites.</p>\n<p>Searching social media for discussion and due-diligence style posts, Swaggy Stocks is able to show the total number of mentions TSLA generates, to compare with WSB.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6a1e518a39e21d05f04e11f43de66c6a\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"593\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Source: Swaggy Stocks</span></p>\n<p>There appears to be a very similar correlation between broader social media mentions of TSLA and stock price activity, but it appears that this attention is reactionary rather than a lead indicator. It is, however, a confirmation of awareness of the stock following along with major price movements, up or down.</p>\n<p><b>What Trends Can We See?</b></p>\n<p>Looking at the two graphs of mentions vs stock price, the most prominent trend is how TSLA mentions, and discussion peaks mostly as major price spikes occur. It does not appear that mentions are a leading indicator, but perhaps a slow-down in mentions might indicate that any further major price movements are not to be expected.</p>\n<p>In my eyes, the more interesting time period (circled in red below) is where mentions of TSLA slowed considerably, and the stock price dwindled following the peak in mentions.</p>\n<p>I argue that in this instance, when the stock fell from $900 to $600, WSB retail investors attention was diverted from the firm and this halted the upward price movement, sending the stock backward towards it's true long-run fundamental value.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d5f5e7c4dafad1ac25fb02d09b089e56\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"490\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Source: Swaggy Stocks</span></p>\n<p><b>Does This Awareness Effect Apply To Other Stocks?</b></p>\n<p>Given GME was the beginning of notoriety for WSB, it's worth comparing the GME ticker to WSB sentiment to search for similar trends.</p>\n<p>Again, large price movements occur around the same time as WSB commentary spikes, and prices tend to drift lower as attention drifts away.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bcda7b46bafc07f02eaa854255c64d63\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"679\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Source: Swaggy Stocks</span></p>\n<p>Looking at a third firm, Apple (AAPL), to compare WSB activity with the largest market cap firm in the US, the correlation between mentions and price activity is much weaker, suggesting that there may be a limit to the WSB community's influence. While activity still follows price movements, there is also the possibility WSB is just simply not as interested in AAPL as it is in TSLA or GME.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/af3145b857ea22dc2550227f9f93826b\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"354\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Source: Swaggy Stocks</span></p>\n<p><b>The Investment View: Results May Vary</b></p>\n<p>I would argue that WSB is not perhaps a leading indicator, but it does play a part in stock awareness and encourages new investors to enter the market.</p>\n<p>I would also argue that 11.2m retail investors is certainly a force to be reckoned with and worth paying attention to - perhaps not a guidance of which stock will boom next but rather which ones are overpriced or have peaked.</p>\n<p>Overall, there's a strong sense that stocks that receive attention from WSB undergo price volatility, and do drift back to their long-run fundamental value given enough time.</p>\n<p>Perhaps it's a case of, if WSB is promoting the stock, you're already too late.</p>\n<p><b>So What Does This Mean For TSLA?</b></p>\n<p>Coming full circle back to TSLA, and reviewing their WSB sentiment chart, I feel there is strong argument to be made that the stock is over-priced due to the presence of retail traders.</p>\n<p>However, monitoring WSB activity may give investors a helpful indicator of when TSLA may be about to experience a price correction as retail investor's attention is drawn away from the firm.</p>\n<p>With that said, Elon Musk remains a variable worth watching given his awareness of the subreddit and its effect on the market, and he has the platform to drive attention back onto TSLA as he sees fit.</p>\n<p><b>The Value Of A Mention</b></p>\n<p>It's hard to place a quantifiable value on what a mention on WSB is worth to a firm, as individually they are probably worth close to $0. But more significant interest could have a life changing short term impact on current shareholders as the value of their portfolio balloons thanks to retail traders taking an interest in one of their holdings.</p>\n<p>On the other hand, short sellers (such as those shorting GME earlier this year) could feel substantial pain, as their positions require covering at ever increasing prices.</p>\n<p>If I was to place a value on it, I would suggest adjusting price targets by as much as 2X current price if a firm were to see significant interest through WSB - but this is tempered by the expectation that long term, the stock would return to its fundamental value.</p>\n<p>If you're holding TSLA shares, it appears the music has stopped over at WSB, and prices may fall back to around $700 in the coming weeks.</p>\n<p>In short, if your holding becomes a 'meme stock', take 2X your money and run - things are about to get volatile.</p>","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; I believe prices will revert back to fundamental value in the long run.\nI argue that this awareness effect applies more to retail investors than to more sophisticated investors or investment funds, though this would obviously have a flow-on effect on them.\nA more traditional example of this theory is how news and announcements affect share prices, albeit they are more closely tied to fundamental value.\nSubreddit WallStreetBets As A Catalyst\nThe Reddit Community WallStreetBets (WSB) is infamous for its role in the January 2021 GameStop saga, which led to a huge price increase in the retail firm's share price after the Reddit community popularised day trading of the firm.\nWSB is a community of mostly retail traders, some with no formal investing education or prior experience, and utilising margin loans through trading apps like Robinhood (though more experienced traders are present and active in the subreddit) to invest in the financial markets.\nThe GameStop saga may be (mostly) over now, but this community is still thriving. At the time of the GameStop saga, the community had less than 3m members, while today it has over 11.2m members.\nGiven the almost 4X growth in community size thanks to the amount of attention generated in the GameStop saga, it's arguable that the community is more powerful than ever before in the day trading space.\nThe Elon Musk/WSB Connection\nMusk is famously aware of, and following, the WSB subreddit,once tweeting to his 43m followers a link to the subreddit with the caption \"Gamestonk.\"\nMusk has also claimed that short sellers have a negative impact on the valuation of TSLA, and it's not hard to imagine how he might see WSB as a tool to affect the share price.\nMusk is regarded as a hero by the WSB community, who are very aware that he follows them, and often post memes or comments in a worshipful manner,declaring him a \"Meme Lord.\"\nTracking WSB Community Sentiment\nThanks to a site called Swaggy Stocks, we are able to track WSB sentiment towards TSLA and count TSLA mentions (and various other firms that get attention on the subreddit, such as the infamous GameStop (GME) short squeeze).\nIf we take a look at a 1-year history of the TSLA share price vs WSB mentions and sentiment, a cursory glance reveals a general correlation between mentions and upward price activity.\nSource: Swaggy Stocks\nAnother clear trend is the overwhelming positive sentiment towards TSLA (and almost any other stock mentioned there) from the WSB community. Search many of these comments and posts, and you'll see the phrase \"Stonks only go up!\" appear across many, many posts.\nDo Other Mediums Have The Same Correlation?\nSwaggy Stocks also tracks TSLA mentions across more traditional news sources and other social media sites.\nSearching social media for discussion and due-diligence style posts, Swaggy Stocks is able to show the total number of mentions TSLA generates, to compare with WSB.\nSource: Swaggy Stocks\nThere appears to be a very similar correlation between broader social media mentions of TSLA and stock price activity, but it appears that this attention is reactionary rather than a lead indicator. It is, however, a confirmation of awareness of the stock following along with major price movements, up or down.\nWhat Trends Can We See?\nLooking at the two graphs of mentions vs stock price, the most prominent trend is how TSLA mentions, and discussion peaks mostly as major price spikes occur. It does not appear that mentions are a leading indicator, but perhaps a slow-down in mentions might indicate that any further major price movements are not to be expected.\nIn my eyes, the more interesting time period (circled in red below) is where mentions of TSLA slowed considerably, and the stock price dwindled following the peak in mentions.\nI argue that in this instance, when the stock fell from $900 to $600, WSB retail investors attention was diverted from the firm and this halted the upward price movement, sending the stock backward towards it's true long-run fundamental value.\nSource: Swaggy Stocks\nDoes This Awareness Effect Apply To Other Stocks?\nGiven GME was the beginning of notoriety for WSB, it's worth comparing the GME ticker to WSB sentiment to search for similar trends.\nAgain, large price movements occur around the same time as WSB commentary spikes, and prices tend to drift lower as attention drifts away.\nSource: Swaggy Stocks\nLooking at a third firm, Apple (AAPL), to compare WSB activity with the largest market cap firm in the US, the correlation between mentions and price activity is much weaker, suggesting that there may be a limit to the WSB community's influence. While activity still follows price movements, there is also the possibility WSB is just simply not as interested in AAPL as it is in TSLA or GME.\nSource: Swaggy Stocks\nThe Investment View: Results May Vary\nI would argue that WSB is not perhaps a leading indicator, but it does play a part in stock awareness and encourages new investors to enter the market.\nI would also argue that 11.2m retail investors is certainly a force to be reckoned with and worth paying attention to - perhaps not a guidance of which stock will boom next but rather which ones are overpriced or have peaked.\nOverall, there's a strong sense that stocks that receive attention from WSB undergo price volatility, and do drift back to their long-run fundamental value given enough time.\nPerhaps it's a case of, if WSB is promoting the stock, you're already too late.\nSo What Does This Mean For TSLA?\nComing full circle back to TSLA, and reviewing their WSB sentiment chart, I feel there is strong argument to be made that the stock is over-priced due to the presence of retail traders.\nHowever, monitoring WSB activity may give investors a helpful indicator of when TSLA may be about to experience a price correction as retail investor's attention is drawn away from the firm.\nWith that said, Elon Musk remains a variable worth watching given his awareness of the subreddit and its effect on the market, and he has the platform to drive attention back onto TSLA as he sees fit.\nThe Value Of A Mention\nIt's hard to place a quantifiable value on what a mention on WSB is worth to a firm, as individually they are probably worth close to $0. In addition to its thriving insurance business, it also provides software and information technology to a number of clinics and hospitals.</p>\n<p>As the medical tech space continues to grow, so should UnitedHealth’s profits.</p>\n<h2>U.S. Bancorp (USB)</h2>\n<p>U.S. Bancorp is the parent company of U.S. Bank, <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of the country’s largest banking institutions.</p>\n<p>Betting on bank stock might seem counterintuitive when a stock market correction is expected to hammer investors’ finances. But banks tend to do well in rising interest rate environments: As rates increase, the profit margin, or spread, earned by banks widens.</p>\n<p>Rather than turning itself into a casino through the kinds of risky derivative plays that tanked some of its competitors in 2007-2008, U.S. Bancorp has instead been focused on innovating and providing digital service for its customers.</p>\n<p>The increased efficiency and lower operating costs that result should be music to investors’ ears.</p>\n<p>Since the beginning of 2021, U.S. Bancorp stock has risen by almost 32%. Of course, if you’re on the fence about jumping in at the current level, some apps might give you a free share of U.S. Bancorp just for signing up.</p>\n<h2>Coca-Cola (KO)</h2>\n<p>There may no longer be any actual coke in Coke, but the company’s shares are still pretty addictive.</p>\n<p>Despite the push for more healthy food and beverage consumption, Coca-Cola’s dominance of the soft drink market remains unmatched.</p>\n<p>But the company’s offerings extend far beyond liquid sugar.</p>\n<p>Coke also sells popular bottled water brands Dasani and Smartwater, big-name juices like Minute Maid and Simply, and international coffee products Costa and Georgia.</p>\n<p>What makes Coca-Cola an interesting defensive play is the company’s consistently impressive profit margin, which has averaged 23.6% over the last decade. I believe prices will revert back to fundamental value in the long run.</p>\n<p>I argue that this awareness effect applies more to retail investors than to more sophisticated investors or investment funds, though this would obviously have a flow-on effect on them.</p>\n<p>A more traditional example of this theory is how news and announcements affect share prices, albeit they are more closely tied to fundamental value.</p>\n<p><b>Subreddit WallStreetBets As A Catalyst</b></p>\n<p>The Reddit Community WallStreetBets (WSB) is infamous for its role in the January 2021 GameStop saga, which led to a huge price increase in the retail firm's share price after the Reddit community&nbsp;popularised day trading of the firm.</p>\n<p>WSB is a community of mostly retail traders, some with no formal investing education or prior experience, and utilising margin loans through trading apps like Robinhood (though more experienced traders are present and active in the subreddit) to invest in the financial markets.</p>\n<p>The GameStop saga may be (mostly) over now, but this community is still thriving. Priced at $149,990, it was to feature a range of 520 miles, thanks to its innovative 4680 battery cells, 1,100 horsepower and the ability to speed from 0 to 60 mph in less than two seconds.</p>\n<p>Instead, the company has begun delivering a new Model S Plaid that has only a 390-mile range and 1,020 horsepower, though it still sprints to from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just two seconds.</p>\n<p>As a way to “sugar coat” its flip flop, Tesla said the Model S Plaid is just as fast as the Model S Plaid Plus and $20,000 cheaper. Humm.</p>\n<p>This “bait and switch” has some Tesla fans worried, since they had deposits on the Model S Plaid Plus and wanted the innovative 4680 battery cells that Tesla had been touting as the key to longer range and more power. Essentially, the 4680 battery cells were the latest great Tesla development, since they were the first batteries to also be a structural component that supposedly allowed Tesla to lower the weight of its vehicles.</p>\n<p>Both the company’s Austin and Berlin manufacturing plants now under construction are supposed to also be making the 4680 batteries for new Tesla vehicles. If there is a problem with the engineering associated with utilizing the 4680 batteries or making them a structural component, then Tesla has grossly miscalculated, which is now worrying investors.</p>\n<p>Clearly something happened to delay the 4680 batteries that were supposed to provide Tesla with a competitive and engineering edge. For Tesla’s sake, I hope they figure out the problems associated with their much hyped 4680 battery cells, otherwise concerns about its two new manufacturing plants will emerge, as well as the stock losing more of its “mojo.”</p>\n<p>As someone who owns more than a few high-performance vehicles, I can tell you that the engineering geeks I know do<i>not</i>want to get a new Model S Plaid instead of a Model S Plaid Plus and will likely ask for their deposits back.</p>\n<p>What Tesla did is like Ferrari or Porsche telling its customers that one of their much-hyped new performance models is now not being sold because the base model was just as good! Car fanatics, like myself, like the latest and greatest engineering tidbits, so we would rather cancel our orders versus settle for a base model.</p>\n<p>The good news for Tesla is that its China sales in May resurged to 21,936, up sharply from 11,671 in April. The company’s sales tend to spike at the end of each quarter. For example, Tesla sold 35,478 vehicles in China in March, which was the strongest month ever in China.</p>\n<p>This is raising expectations for very strong China sales in June, especially now that the Model Y is being manufactured in Shanghai. Interestingly, since most Chinese Teslas are now made with iron phosphate batteries, these vehicles have lower range than its lithium cobalt vehicles, but its iron phosphate vehicles are cheaper and now increasingly being exported to Europe.</p>\n<p>However, I’m convinced another electric vehicle (EV) company will eventually displace Tesla as the biggest manufacturer of EVs in China.</p>\n<p><b>Taking Advantage of the EV Revolution’s Profit Potential</b></p>\n<p>I’m talking about&nbsp;<b>Nio, Inc.</b>(NYSE:<b>NIO</b>). The reality is that this company is on the verge of dominating the EV market in China and Hong Kong. It’s why I put NIO on my<b><i>Platinum Growth Club</i></b>Model Portfolio back in February.</p>\n<p>The company boasts that it is the “next-generation car company,” as it designs and manufactures electric vehicles that utilize the latest technologies in connectivity, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI). NIO currently offers an electric seven-seater SUV (ES8) and a five-seater electric SUV (ES6) and recently introduced an attractive electric sedan (ET7). Its vehicles utilize NOMI, an in-vehicle artificial intelligence assistant.</p>\n<p>The company is also partnering with cutting-edge chip companies like<b>NVIDIA Corporation</b>(NASDAQ:<b>NVDA</b>), another one of my<b><i>Platinum Growth Club</i></b>Model Portfolio stocks. NIO plans to use the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system-on-a-chip for its electric vehicles that will provide autonomous driving capabilities. The NVIDIA DRIVE Orin-powered supercomputer, which is being called Adam, will be launched in the ET7 sedan in China in 2022. Announcements like this are very positive, so NIO has been stealing some of Tesla’s thunder lately.</p>\n<p>Now, it’s important to note that NIO was bailed out by the Chinese government. Last year, the Chinese government injected $1 billion and now has a 24% ownership in the company. The reality is that China wants to dominate at least five major industries by 2025, and NIO is now its ticket to dominate EV manufacturing.</p>\n<p>With the backing of the Chinese government, some Wall Street firms are eager to help NIO by issuing new debt or equity. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if NIO surpasses Tesla, which is currently number-two in China, for market share in the upcoming years.</p>\n<p>That means, if you missed Tesla’s parabolic run like I did, NIO is essentially giving us a “second chance” to make money in a potentially explosive electric vehicle company.</p>\n<p>Shares of NIO climbed nearly 13% since the company’s June 4 announcement of its May delivery report and positive analyst comments, while Tesla shares rose almost 3%. First, NIO revealed that the global chip shortage is starting to take a toll on its business. NIO only delivered 6,711 vehicles in May, or a 5.5% decline from April’s deliveries. Company management noted that deliveries were “adversely impacted for several days due to the volatility of semiconductor supply and certain logistical adjustments.”</p>\n<p>Interestingly, despite the month-to-month dip, NIO’s deliveries were still up 95.3% year-over-year. Priced at $149,990, it was to feature a range of 520 miles, thanks to its innovative 4680 battery cells, 1,100 horsepower and the ability to speed from 0 to 60 mph in less than two seconds.\nInstead, the company has begun delivering a new Model S Plaid that has only a 390-mile range and 1,020 horsepower, though it still sprints to from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just two seconds.\nAs a way to “sugar coat” its flip flop, Tesla said the Model S Plaid is just as fast as the Model S Plaid Plus and $20,000 cheaper. Humm.\nThis “bait and switch” has some Tesla fans worried, since they had deposits on the Model S Plaid Plus and wanted the innovative 4680 battery cells that Tesla had been touting as the key to longer range and more power. Essentially, the 4680 battery cells were the latest great Tesla development, since they were the first batteries to also be a structural component that supposedly allowed Tesla to lower the weight of its vehicles.\nBoth the company’s Austin and Berlin manufacturing plants now under construction are supposed to also be making the 4680 batteries for new Tesla vehicles. If there is a problem with the engineering associated with utilizing the 4680 batteries or making them a structural component, then Tesla has grossly miscalculated, which is now worrying investors.\nClearly something happened to delay the 4680 batteries that were supposed to provide Tesla with a competitive and engineering edge. For Tesla’s sake, I hope they figure out the problems associated with their much hyped 4680 battery cells, otherwise concerns about its two new manufacturing plants will emerge, as well as the stock losing more of its “mojo.”\nAs someone who owns more than a few high-performance vehicles, I can tell you that the engineering geeks I know donotwant to get a new Model S Plaid instead of a Model S Plaid Plus and will likely ask for their deposits back.\nWhat Tesla did is like Ferrari or Porsche telling its customers that one of their much-hyped new performance models is now not being sold because the base model was just as good! Car fanatics, like myself, like the latest and greatest engineering tidbits, so we would rather cancel our orders versus settle for a base model.\nThe good news for Tesla is that its China sales in May resurged to 21,936, up sharply from 11,671 in April. The company’s sales tend to spike at the end of each quarter. For example, Tesla sold 35,478 vehicles in China in March, which was the strongest month ever in China.\nThis is raising expectations for very strong China sales in June, especially now that the Model Y is being manufactured in Shanghai. Interestingly, since most Chinese Teslas are now made with iron phosphate batteries, these vehicles have lower range than its lithium cobalt vehicles, but its iron phosphate vehicles are cheaper and now increasingly being exported to Europe.\nHowever, I’m convinced another electric vehicle (EV) company will eventually displace Tesla as the biggest manufacturer of EVs in China.\nTaking Advantage of the EV Revolution’s Profit Potential\nI’m talking about Nio, Inc.(NYSE:NIO). The reality is that this company is on the verge of dominating the EV market in China and Hong Kong. It’s why I put NIO on myPlatinum Growth ClubModel Portfolio back in February.\nThe company boasts that it is the “next-generation car company,” as it designs and manufactures electric vehicles that utilize the latest technologies in connectivity, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI). NIO currently offers an electric seven-seater SUV (ES8) and a five-seater electric SUV (ES6) and recently introduced an attractive electric sedan (ET7). Its vehicles utilize NOMI, an in-vehicle artificial intelligence assistant.\nThe company is also partnering with cutting-edge chip companies likeNVIDIA Corporation(NASDAQ:NVDA), another one of myPlatinum Growth ClubModel Portfolio stocks. NIO plans to use the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system-on-a-chip for its electric vehicles that will provide autonomous driving capabilities. Announcements like this are very positive, so NIO has been stealing some of Tesla’s thunder lately.\nNow, it’s important to note that NIO was bailed out by the Chinese government. Last year, the Chinese government injected $1 billion and now has a 24% ownership in the company. The reality is that China wants to dominate at least five major industries by 2025, and NIO is now its ticket to dominate EV manufacturing.\nWith the backing of the Chinese government, some Wall Street firms are eager to help NIO by issuing new debt or equity. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if NIO surpasses Tesla, which is currently number-two in China, for market share in the upcoming years.\nThat means, if you missed Tesla’s parabolic run like I did, NIO is essentially giving us a “second chance” to make money in a potentially explosive electric vehicle company.\nShares of NIO climbed nearly 13% since the company’s June 4 announcement of its May delivery report and positive analyst comments, while Tesla shares rose almost 3%. First, NIO revealed that the global chip shortage is starting to take a toll on its business. NIO only delivered 6,711 vehicles in May, or a 5.5% decline from April’s deliveries. Company management noted that deliveries were “adversely impacted for several days due to the volatility of semiconductor supply and certain logistical adjustments.”\nInterestingly, despite the month-to-month dip, NIO’s deliveries were still up 95.3% year-over-year. It’s the first such approval granted by the FAA, and follows a successful test flight by Virgin Galactic in May.</p>\n<p><b>4)&nbsp;FedEx(FDX) </b>– FedEx beat estimates by 2 cents a share, with quarterly earnings of $5.01 per share.
