Note","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1131743000","media":"Zacks","summary":"Walmart Inc. is likely to continue with its solid trend and witness a rise in the top and bottom lin","content":"
Walmart Inc. is likely to continue with its solid trend and witness a rise in the top and bottom lines when it reports fourth-quarter fiscal 2021 numbers on Feb 18, before market open. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings has increased 2% in the past 30 days to $1.50 per share, which also indicates growth of 8.7% rise from the figure reported in the prior-year period. Markedly, Walmart delivered an earnings surprise of 12.6% in the last reported quarter. Further, the supermarket giant has a trailing four-quarter earnings surprise of 11.1%, on average.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for revenues is pegged at $146.4 billion, suggesting an increase of 3.4% from the prior-year quarter’s reported figure. However, it looks like the rate of sales growth will decelerate on a sequential basis. The company had witnessed an increase of 5.2% in the last reported quarter.

Key Factors to Note

Walmart has been benefiting from burgeoning demand amid coronavirus-led elevated at-home consumption as well as stock hoarding. Further, higher stay-at-home trends are boosting the company’s e-commerce sales. The company, on its third-quarter earnings call, said that it has doubled the U.S. store associate count this year, supporting the company’s digital and omnichannel efforts. Certainly, Walmart’s combination of a robust store network and growing digital capacity bodes well.

Incidentally, Walmart has been taking robust strides to strengthen its delivery arm, especially amid the pandemic-led increased demand. This is evident from the company’s launch of the Walmart+ membership program; drone delivery pilots in the United States with Flytrex, Zipline and DroneUp; and a pilot with Cruise to test grocery delivery through self-driven all-electric cars. Walmart also unveiled an alliance with Door Dash in the third quarter to deliver prescriptions from pharmacies of Sam’s Club, alongside expanding Scan & Go to all fuel stations at U.S. Sam’s Clubs. Prior to this, Walmart unveiled Express Delivery during the first quarter at several stores, which helps it deliver orders to customers in less than two hours. As of the fiscal third quarter, Walmart U.S. had 3,600 pickup locations and 2,900 same-day delivery locations.

These factors have been boosting Walmart’s e-commerce business, which along with its solid efforts to bolster store sales helped its U.S. comp sales to increase for the 25th straight time in the last reported quarter. We note that the big-box retailer has been undertaking several efforts to enhance merchandise assortments and it has also been focused on store remodeling, to upgrade them with advanced in-store and digital innovation. Apart from these, the company’s unique deals and saving events, along with other initiatives to make the most of consumers’ evolving shopping needs and the holiday season are likely to have yielded results.

That being said, we cannot ignore the impact of the company’s pricing investments on margins. Also, the company has been seeing high costs related to COVID-19, like higher wages and benefits along with costs associated with sanitization and other safety measures. The company incurred roughly $600 million as additional costs related to COVID-19 in the third quarter of fiscal 2021. Management in its last earnings call said that it expects pandemic-related costs to prevail for a while, alongside some general uncertainties globally.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Walmart Lined Up for Q4 Earnings: Key Things to Note
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWalmart Lined Up for Q4 Earnings: Key Things to Note\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-02-16 17:14 GMT+8 Zacks\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Walmart Inc. is likely to continue with its solid trend and witness a rise in the top and bottom lines when it reports fourth-quarter fiscal 2021 numbers on Feb 18, before market open. Key regional gauges in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Australia also chalked up gains; Malaysia bucked the general trend and finished in the red.\nSentiments in equities stayed upbeat, owing to the same confluence of factors from US stimulus package, dovish central banks and vaccine roll-outs that have picked up pace. Also, while Wall Street had an off-day on Monday with the Presidents' Day holiday, the futures indicated continued gains as it starts the week on Tuesday, adding to the cheery mood.\nOn the local bourse, turnover stood at 2.69 billion worth S$1.12 billion. Gains were led by DBS, Singtel and Wilmar International.\nComfortDelGro fell one Singapore cent or 0.6 per cent to S$1.57. DBS Group Research issued a \"buy\" rating on the counter with a 12-month target price of S$1.99, saying that a recovery is on the cards and the current price seems \"unjustifiably low\". This followed the land transport operator's FY2020 results, in which it announced a 77 per cent drop in net profit to S$61.8 million from a year ago, as revenue fell 17 per cent to S$3.22 billion owing to pandemic-led lockdowns across the countries where it operates.\nMapletree Logistics Trust (MLT) closed unchanged at S$1.95. MLT manager announced late on Monday that it has acquired five freehold logistics properties in South Korea for 280 billion won (S$336 million).","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"STI.SI":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":235,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":382515506,"gmtCreate":1613466616705,"gmtModify":1634553574332,"author":{"id":"3573219648552108","authorId":"3573219648552108","name":"388ef7fc","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573219648552108","authorIdStr":"3573219648552108"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"markets in financial markets and personal finances over the course of 2020 may have significantly altered our relationship with money, according to new research, which suggests people have more faith in robots than humans to manage their cash.\nOver three-quarters (76%) of consumers in Asia-Pacific said they would now trust a robot more than a personal financial advisor to look after their finances, according to a study released Wednesday by software company Oracle and market research firm Savanta.\nMore than two-thirds (68%) said they would trust a robot more than themselves with the same task.\nThose figures were higher among business leaders in the region; 84% of whom said they would trust a robot over themselves to look after their money and 83% of whom rated machines’ abilities over their own finance teams.\nRobots on the rise\nThe “Money & Machine” study — which was part of a wider global report — surveyed more than 2,500 consumers and business leaders across Asia-Pacific, namely in Australia, China, India, Japan and Singapore, to determine how people’s relationship with money had changed under the pandemic.\nRespondents in Japan, China and India were most convinced by robots’ abilities of all the 14 countries surveyed globally. Meanwhile, those in Australia (55%) were the most skeptical within Asia-Pacific.\nRobots were preferred across a range of capabilities, including their perceived ability to free up spare time (38%), detect fraud (36%) and reduce unnecessary spending (34%).\nHowever, they lagged behind on their apparent investing abilities, with just 11% of respondents citing robots’ stock buying abilities after the pandemic sparked a surge in do-it-yourself trades among retail investors.\n“There is no precedence to the impacts of the pandemic and uncertainty of this scale, with both business leaders and consumers looking for trusted use cases when trusting robots,” Guruprasad Gaonkar, global go-to-market lead for Oracle’s ERP Cloud Business said, suggesting that robots so far lack the track record to deal with the market fluctuations experienced under the pandemic.\nShifting financial habits\nThe report also highlights a wider shift in financial habits under the pandemic. Of those surveyed, 74% of consumers said the events of 2020 have changed the way they now think about physical cash, while 64% said it has changed the way they buy goods and services.\nOverall, nearly half (49%) of Asia-Pacific respondents said they believe robots will replace personal financial advisors within the next five years. Again, that figure was higher in China (63%).\n“The role of finance teams and financial advisors will never be the same,” Gaonkar said. “90% of business leaders believe robots will replace finance professionals, and almost two-thirds (62%) believe it will happen within the next five years (by 2025).”\nEven so, most consumers said they would still prefer to consult a personal financial advisor for guidance on major purchasing decisions, such as buying a house (37%), buying a car (34%) and planning a vacation (33%).","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"399001":0.9,"399006":0.9,".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"000001.SH":0.9,"HSI":0.9,"STI.SI":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":161,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":383307493,"gmtCreate":1612835354112,"gmtModify":1703765636645,"author":{"id":"3573219648552108","authorId":"3573219648552108","name":"388ef7fc","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573219648552108","authorIdStr":"3573219648552108"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"good","listText":"good","text":"good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/383307493","repostId":"1193450954","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":275,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":389674085,"gmtCreate":1612774544847,"gmtModify":1703764800864,"author":{"id":"3573219648552108","authorId":"3573219648552108","name":"388ef7fc","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573219648552108","authorIdStr":"3573219648552108"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"yeah ","listText":"yeah ","text":"yeah","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/389674085","repostId":"1185714346","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1185714346","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1612774020,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1185714346?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-02-08 16:47","market":"sh","language":"en","title":"Ant Group’s potential move to restructure is a ‘step in right direction,’ research firm IDC says","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1185714346","media":"cnbc","summary":"KEY POINTS\n\nAnt has yet to comment on the matter but media reports said the proposed restructuring i","content":"
\n
KEY POINTS\n\nAnt has yet to comment on the matter but media reports said the proposed restructuring is expected to be announced before the Chinese New Year holiday, which kicks off later this week, on ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; And most important , there would be questions around what exactly can Ant do moving forward,” he added, noting it will be “a long path to the ideal” but it will be a “step in the right direction.”\nAnt Group — an affiliate of China’s e-commerce giantAlibabaand was founded by Jack Ma — runs the popular mobile payments app Alipay in the country.\nOver the years, Ant has expanded into areas such as lending and wealth management. Regulators are concerned the company poses a systemic risk to the economy, and halted its $35 billion initial public offering last year— which would have been the world’s largest.\nThe reported overhaul is expected to subject Ant Group to stricter capital requirements, making it more like a bank than a technology company.\nThe move comes as the Chinese government intensifies efforts to increase supervision of China’s fast evolving fintech sector amid growing concerns over the pricing power that these large tech giants have over consumers.\n“It is a concern also acknowledged by Ant Group as well,” noted Araneta. “And there will be expectations and more clarity coming from the regulator about what can or cannot be done by these powerhouses in the platform world of technology.”\nHe said another critical factor surrounding regulation in China is over how much power these big tech firms would have on the market with regards to data privacy.\n“If you look at the one billion customers that they do have a lot of data on, what can they do with that kind of data? That is going to be a question moving forward, especially around data privacy,” he said. “And that’s something that Ant Group will be well-prepared to resolve as well.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"688688":0.9,"06688":0.9,"09988":0.9,"BABA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":176,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":335734618,"gmtCreate":1610641352534,"gmtModify":1703745948475,"author":{"id":"3573219648552108","authorId":"3573219648552108","name":"388ef7fc","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573219648552108","authorIdStr":"3573219648552108"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a been temporarily distracted in the past week by the battle between Reddit's plucky retail investors and lazy short-selling hedge funds over the fate of GameStop(NYSE:GME). It won't be the last time the world stops to watch such an event in the same way that people, who would otherwise never watch a race, are glued to the screen when F1 drivers crash into the barrier or each other. Pundits have tried to turn this into more than it is, but until people turn up with actual pitchforks in front of Mr. Griffin's $60M penthouse pad in Chicago, I am inclined to side with George Pearkes' take on the matter; move on, nothing (much) to see. People with time on their hands, and a stimulus cheque(?), have decided to take a punt. On the face of it, they have been successful, but most will have bought and sold too late to avoid the gut-wrenching losses that are all but inevitable in the context of the kind of volatility, which GameStop has exhibited recently. Meanwhile, in the boring and dusty world of global macro trading, investors' eyes are still focused on the long bond in the U.S., where it is, or isn't, going, and what this means for other asset classes, the economy, not to mention the Fed's reaction function? Friday's NFP report was, as ever, a case in point.
\n

","source":"lsy1612772507148","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; It won't be the last time the world stops to watch such an event in the same way that people, who would otherwise never watch a race, are glued to the screen when F1 drivers crash into the barrier or each other. Friday's NFP report was, as ever, a case in point.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMC":0.9,"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":294,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":389371651,"gmtCreate":1612703388073,"gmtModify":1703764376760,"author":{"id":"3573219648552108","authorId":"3573219648552108","name":"388ef7fc","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573219648552108","authorIdStr":"3573219648552108"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"great","listText":"great","text":"great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/389371651","repostId":"1142907763","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1142907763","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1612514969,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1142907763?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-02-05 16:49","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Luckin Coffee’s Restructuring Efforts Move Forward with Commencement of its Chapter 15 Case in the United States","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1142907763","media":"globenewswire","summary":"Coordination between the Cayman Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to Protect the Interests of Stak","content":"
Coordination between the Cayman Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to Protect the Interests of Stakeholders and Facilitate LuckinCoffee’s Restructuring of its Financial Obligations
\n
All Company Stores Remain Open and Serving Customers in China; No Material Impact on Daily Operations Expected
\n
Company Continues to Meet Trade Obligations in the Ordinary Course of Business, Including Paying Suppliers, Vendors and Employees
\n
BEIJING, Feb. 05, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Joint Provisional Liquidators (the “JPLs”) of Luckin Coffee Inc.
