Every time the market dips, all we hear about is opportuni","content":"
We're conditioned to buy.
\n
Think about it. Every time the market dips, all we hear about is opportunities or this name is now undervalued or on sale. Buy the dip isn't simply a catchy saying. Buy the dip has been programmed into our brains since the first day we began trading. Few, if any, people start off their trading or investing careers looking for a company to short. Nope. We're all thinking about what we're going to buy first. Heck, a few lucky folks were gifted stock from a relative. Mom and Dad bought me some Disney (DIS) stock when I was a kid or something along those lines.
\n
This is what makes bearish markets or choppy markets so difficult. We're conditioned to buy, and we expect stocks to move higher. If they don't, anxiety hits us. A myriad of concerns floods our brain because the action is almost counterintuitive. We're pre-programmed to buy, and we expect to be rewarded for doing what we've been taught to do. This is why fear is so powerful. It's the reason we make so many stupid decisions (I'm looking in the mirror) when prices drop. It is also why we ride losers too long and cut our winners too quickly.
\n
We are not programmed nor taught how to sell. Yes, not wanting to admit being wrong is a factor in holding bags (losing stocks), however, that is rooted in our programming. Stocks are opportunity. Mom and Dad bought me some Disney (DIS) stock when I was a kid or something along those lines.\nThis is what makes bearish markets or choppy markets so difficult. It is also why we ride losers too long and cut our winners too quickly.\nWe are not programmed nor taught how to sell. Yes, not wanting to admit being wrong is a factor in holding bags (losing stocks), however, that is rooted in our programming. Stocks are opportunity. Stocks aren't supposed to go down.\nBut they do. And it's okay. It's actually healthy for the long-term.\nSo, remember, you don't have to buy every dip despite how loud some may yell. If you felt the squeeze of the past few days or weeks, then watch for a rally to sell. As we're working off some oversold conditions, you just might get that chance before the end of the week. Rivian?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1156888846","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Ford Motor Company, which is one of the early backers of EV startup Rivian Automotive, Inc., is shel","content":"
Ford Motor Company, which is one of the early backers of EV startup Rivian Automotive, Inc., is shelving its plan to develop an EV with the latter altogether.
\n
What Happened:As Ford steps on the gas on its EV transition, the Detroit-based automaker has decided to abandon it plans to jointly develop an EV with Rivian, CEO Jim Farley said in an interview with Automotive News.
\n
Farley said Ford expects to produce 600,000 vehicles per year by the end of 2023.
\n
When Ford initially invested $500 million in Rivian in 2019, it envisaged developing a Ford branded EV that will come with Rivian's skateboard powertrain. In early 2020, the companies said they are shelving the plans for a Lincoln-branded EV but would go ahead with an alternative vehicle based on Rivian technology.
\n
The Ford CEO suggested in the interview that the company is now increasingly confident in competing in the EV space by itself. Another handicap that forced the going-solo decision was the complexities involved in integrating the hardware and software together.
\n
Why It's Important:Rivian shares debuted on Wall Street on Nov. 10 following aninitial public offeringat a bumper valuation of over $100 billion. In early 2020, the companies said they are shelving the plans for a Lincoln-branded EV but would go ahead with an alternative vehicle based on Rivian technology.\nThe Ford CEO suggested in the interview that the company is now increasingly confident in competing in the EV space by itself. Another handicap that forced the going-solo decision was the complexities involved in integrating the hardware and software together.\nWhy It's Important:Rivian shares debuted on Wall Street on Nov. 10 following aninitial public offeringat a bumper valuation of over $100 billion. The company's strong debut and the subsequent run up in shares have raised eyebrows over its valuation which has taken it past the market capitalization of legacy U.S. automakers, including Ford.\nRivian's product pipeline consists of RIT, an EV pickup truck, which it began delivering to customers in September. The company also highlighted increased costs in transforming into a tech company, as one culprit for the steep loss.\nNew GameStop CEO Matt Furlong took no questions on his first earnings call as CEO and shared zero information regarding its business plan.\nNot exactly ideal for a stock that continues to trade on hopium than any semblance of fundamentals.\n\"GameStop's [stock] is already trading over two times next year's enterprise value to revenue. And so it's trading as if it's already going to have a very successful transition, which is something that we just find to be incredibly difficult,\" cautioned ChangeBridge Capital's founder and CIO Ross Klein on Yahoo Finance Live.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":110,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":153011572,"gmtCreate":1624984825396,"gmtModify":1633946147371,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573883093617050","authorIdStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gme with implied upside of ∞%.","listText":"Gme with implied upside of ∞%.","text":"Gme with implied upside of ∞%.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/153011572","repostId":"2147343850","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":145,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":150598088,"gmtCreate":1624920197444,"gmtModify":1633947148672,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573883093617050","authorIdStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"G, M and E.","listText":"G, M and E.","text":"G, M and E.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/150598088","repostId":"2146983887","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":224,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":150593717,"gmtCreate":1624920125240,"gmtModify":1633947149995,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573883093617050","authorIdStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gme, GMe, GmE, gMe and gmE.","listText":"Gme, GMe, GmE, gMe and gmE.","text":"Gme, GMe, GmE, gMe and gmE.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/150593717","repostId":"2146835880","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":246,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":150509022,"gmtCreate":1624919424466,"gmtModify":1633947160728,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573883093617050","authorIdStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nvidia should raise their supply too.","listText":"Nvidia should raise their supply too.","text":"Nvidia should raise their supply too.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/150509022","repostId":"1182036516","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1182036516","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1624892087,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1182036516?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-28 22:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nvidia shares rose more than 5% to a new high","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1182036516","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Nvidia shares rose more than 5% to a new high on Report Three Key Chip Makers Endorse Bid for Arm.\n\n","content":"
Nvidia shares rose more than 5% to a new high on Report Three Key Chip Makers Endorse Bid for Arm.
\n

\n
Three major chip makers have reportedly stepped up to say they support Nvidia‘s proposed acquisition of the U.K.-based chip-design house Arm.
\n
Last September, Nvidia (ticker: NVDA) announced a deal to acquire Arm from SoftBank Group(SFTBY) for $40 billion in cash and stock in a transaction that would make SoftBank the largest investor in Nvidia. In early 2020, the companies said they are shelving the plans for a Lincoln-branded EV but would go ahead with an alternative vehicle based on Rivian technology.
\n
The Ford CEO suggested in the interview that the company is now increasingly confident in competing in the EV space by itself. The deal has attracted considerable scrutiny from both regulators and other chip companies, given Arm’s position as a leading provider of microprocessor designs to the chip industry. Almost all smartphones use processors based on Arm designs.
\n
But the U.K.’s Sunday Times over the weekend reported that three important Arm customers—Broadcom(AVGO), Marvell (MRVL), and Taiwan-based MediaTek(2454.TW)—have endorsed the transaction. None of the companies involved could immediately be reached for comment.
\n
Citi analyst Atif Malk wrote in a research note Sunday that the report is a big step forward for the proposed deal.
