As many as four more companies are making their stock-market debuts, bringing the total to at least six.

Coinbase, the largest U.S. cryptocurrency exchange,is slated to open for trading on Wednesday, April 14. Applovin and TuSimple are listing the next day, three people familiar with the situation said. Agilon Health ismaking its debut that Thursday.

And Alkami Technology,a bank software company, and Karat Packaging, whichmakes environmentally-friendly disposable food service products, are also reportedly going public.

This week, by way of contrast, two companies, Reneo Pharmaceuticals and VectivBio Holding, are listing. Both are small biotech companies that areslated to begin trading on the Nasdaq on Friday.

Applovin on Wednesday set terms for its initial public offering. It is offering 25 million shares at $75 to $85 each, which means it could raise as much as $2.13 billion if the stock sells at the high end of that range. The company plans to trade on the Nasdaq under the symbol APP.

Eighteen underwriters are listed in the Applovin prospectus, includingMorgan Stanley(ticker: MS),JPMorgan Chase(JPM),KKR, Bank of America‘s (BAC) BofA Securities, andCitigroup(C).

Founded in 2012, Applovin provides software used by mobile-game developers to grow their businesses. Some 410 million people a day open apps that contain Applovin software, according to the company. Applovin also has a portfolio of more than 200 free-to-play mobile games with 32 million daily users.

In 2018, KKRbought a minority stakein Applovin for $400 million, valuing Applovin at $2 billion at the time. Applovin in February acquired Adjust, a firm that helps mobile-app developers measure the performance of apps and prevent fraud, for $1 billion. KKR will own 67.4% of the company after the IPO, theprospectus said.

With 357,955,309 shares outstanding, Applovin’s market capitalization could hit $30 billion.

TuSimple also set terms for its IPO. The self-driving technology company could raise as much as $1.3 billion; it is offering nearly 34 million shares at $35 to $39 each. It will trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker TSP.

Morgan Stanley(MS),Citigroup, and J.P. Morgan (JPM) are lead bookrunners on the deal.

Founded in 2015, TuSimple is looking to transform the $800 billion trucking industry. The San Diego company, which has plants in Tucson, Shanghai, and Beijing, in addition to operations in Japan, is developing an autonomous freight network for long-haul, semi-trucks that it says will increase efficiency and safety on the road, while cutting operating costs.

TuSimple develops software for the Level 4 self-driving, long-haul trucks, which can see up to 1,000 meters away, equivalent to 30 seconds of driving time. High-definition maps provide accuracy within five centimeters.

The company is partnering withNavistar(NAV) to develop trucks for the North American market by 2024,its prospectus said. TuSimple has another partnership withVolkswagensubsidiary TRATON for trucks in Europe. Tesla (ticker: TSLA) didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment about the fire or the damage it may have caused.

President Joe Biden is probably responsible for the share-price decline, which left the stock about 2.7% lower in premarket trading, at about $680. It has beena wild weekfor Tesla stockholders. Shares started off the week at about $675,traded above $700and fell to about $560 before bounding back, up 4.7% Thursday, to just under $700.

Nothing Tesla has done appears to be the reason for the recent volatility. It’s all about interest rates.

That is where the president comes into the picture. Thursday evening, he addressed the nation, focusing on putting Covid-19 in the rearview mirror a year after the World Health Organization declared that a pandemic had begun.

“All adult Americans will be eligible to get a vaccine no later than May 1,” said the president, adding the federal government is setting up hundreds of vaccination sites and procuring millions more vaccine doses.

It’s good news, but the market is selling off Friday morning. Tesla (ticker: TSLA) didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment about the fire or the damage it may have caused.President Joe Biden is probably responsible for the share-price decline, which left the stock about 2.7% lower in premarket trading, at about $680. It has beena wild weekfor Tesla stockholders. Shares started off the week at about $675,traded above $700and fell to about $560 before bounding back, up 4.7% Thursday, to just under $700.Nothing Tesla has done appears to be the reason for the recent volatility. It’s all about interest rates. That is where the president comes into the picture. Thursday evening, he addressed the nation, focusing on putting Covid-19 in the rearview mirror a year after the World Health Organization declared that a pandemic had begun.“All adult Americans will be eligible to get a vaccine no later than May 1,” said the president, adding the federal government is setting up hundreds of vaccination sites and procuring millions more vaccine doses. It’s good news, but the market is selling off Friday morning. For stocks, the speech represents almost too much of a good thing. The economy is reopening and, as a result, bond yields are rising, putting pressure on high-growth stocks.Futures on the Nasdaq Composite Index, home to many highflying tech stocks, are down 1.6%.Dow Jones Industrial Averagefutures, on the other hand, are flat.Higher yields hurt richly valued, fast-growing companies more than others for a couple of reasons. With a stock as volatile as Gamestop, calls can be expensive. Because of that, many traders resort to buying far out of the money calls. That demand for upside calls increases volatility in those calls, making them expensive relative to at-the-money calls – a phenomenon known as skew. However, for those that are bullish, this may create an opportunity to utilize spreads rather than buying an outright call. Let's see how.

Here we'll focus on one alternative – using debit spreads to lower the overall cost of a directional trade (while potentially improving the probability of profit of the trade itself by lowering the breakeven level). It does so by selling those relatively expensive out-the-money Calls to help finance the purchase of a nearer to at-the-money Call.

With Gamestop near $105, the March 19th 110/190 Debit Call Spread is roughly $15 and targets the bullish expected move for March 19th. The debit call spread would need the stock to be above $125 on March 19th to be profitable.

As a comparison, the GME March 19th 200 calls are trading $29. That's nearly twice the cost for a 200 call that needs the stock above $229 by March 19th… versus a call spread, that needs the stock above $125. Here's a side by side comparison of those two trades on the Options AI chart. First, the 200 call:

And next, the 145/200 debit call spread:

As you can see, not only is the call spread less expensive, the point at which is becomes profitable to the upside is much closer to where the stock is currently trading. (As indicated by the grey price of the breakeven.)

A note on probability of profit. The probability of profit displayed on these trades is based on the delta being assigned to the breakeven of the trade. The fact that a 200 call in a $105 stock is trading near 50 deltas shows just how distorting an effect Gamestop volatility is having on its options (hard to borrow, skew, retail demand for out-of-the-money calls).

Directional Butterflies vs Outright Puts

High volatility also affects bearish options trades. One of the counter-intuitive aspects of a high volatility stock like Gamestop is that its implied volatility can go up as the stock goes higher and down as the stock goes lower. This is the opposite of how we generally think about volatility. Therefore, buying outright puts carries a risk of collapsing volatility (and therefore collapsing premiums) as the stock goes lower. So, even though the stock is moving in the intended direction, as an option holder you may not be realizing the gains expected.

One way to counter high implied volatility in a stock, especially when having a bearish view, is to be a net seller of option premium. To sell to bullish option traders rather than join bearish option traders. Traditionally that might take the form of selling a Credit Call Spread. But in GME's case that means buying the (expensive) upper strike Call at a higher volatility than the Call that is closer to the money (as described above).

So, one option strategy that can be considered by traders is using a Butterfly. An option trade that is more typically associated with a neutral trading view, but here adapted to actually create a targeted (bearish) directional view.

Here, as an example, is a Butterfly with its center strikes focused at $80 in the stock, with a March 19th expiry:

This 130/80/30 butterfly has breakevens of 115 and 45, meaning the trade is profitable if the stock is between those two prices at March 19th expiry… with a max gain occurring if the stock is at or near $80. Amazon's stock is off 11% from a recent peak in early February. And chipmaker Nvidia (NVDA) has seen its shares plunge nearly 19% since the middle of last month. What's happening: Tech companies are getting hammered by the recent sell-off in markets. Many stocks in the sector have entered a correction, logging declines of at least 10% from their recent peaks. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite may not be far behind. The index finished Friday more than 8% below the record high notched on Feb. 12. Futures point to another rough trading session on Monday.Breaking it down: Investors have become increasingly worried that the reopening of many big economies later this year will lead to a spike in prices as people rush out to restaurants and book vacations. That could put pressure on central banks like the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates sooner than expected.Rock-bottom rates have been a boon for fast-growing tech companies. They've helped keep yields on government bonds extremely low, boosting interest in riskier investments like stocks that offer better returns. But now, bond yields are rising on inflation concerns. That could make assets like US Treasuries start to appear more enticing — triggering outflows from the tech names that have been so popular over the past 11 months.Jeroen Blokland, a portfolio manager at Robeco, thinks that as estimates for economic growth continue to improve, so-called \"value\" stocks in sectors like banking — which benefit from a healthy economy — may begin to get a second look.\"If you believe in this whole reopening and estimates of GDP growth ... that means growth is less scarce,\" he told me. \"[Then the] value sector has at least the possibility to play catch up.\"See here: The KBW Bank Index, which tracks top US lenders, is up more than 20% this year. The Nasdaq, meanwhile, has almost wiped out all of its 2021 gains. Many strategists think the declines are healthy, and that share prices of many tech companies shot up too much, too fast.Continued selling may hinge on what we hear from central bankers in the coming days. The European Central Bank, which meets later this week, has stated clearly that it will take some action if it believes the rapid increase in bond yields will lead to tighter financial conditions. Fed Chair Jerome Powell has been less explicit.Blokland thinks that if the yield on the 10-year US Treasury note marches significantly higher this week, Powell may have no choice but to strongly assert that the Fed will act as necessary to ensure the economic recovery isn't affected by market turmoil.\"If we have another week like last week, [he has] to do something,\" Blokland said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".IXIC":0.9,"AAPL":0.9,"AMZN":0.9,"FB":0.9,"GOOG":0.9,"GOOGL":0.9,"MSFT":0.9,"NFLX":0.9,"NVDA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":322,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":346329329,"gmtCreate":1618003055161,"gmtModify":1634295325638,"author":{"id":"3574743547860092","authorId":"3574743547860092","name":"RickyMTH","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c13393511e658f9c1117cada108d6638","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574743547860092","authorIdStr":"3574743547860092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Really?","listText":"Really?","text":"Really?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/346329329","repostId":"2126038125","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2126038125","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com POINTS\n\nData firm Thinknum saw mentions of GameStop start spiking on Reddit days before the stock started rallying again, co-founder Justin Zhen told CNBC.\n“The volume today has been insane, but we see a huge spike in advance of the run-up of the stock yesterday,” Zhen said.\nThinknum launched its Reddit-focused dataset after January’s GameStop frenzy.\n\nMentions of GameStop increased on Reddit days before shares of the video-game retailer took off again, according to Justin Zhen, co-founder of Thinknum, a tech firm that compiles alternative data sets for investors.\nIn the last 24 hours, we saw the number of occurrences of mentions for GameStop spike. It actually started spiking about four days ago,” Zhen said in an interview Thursday on CNBC’s“The Exchange.”\n“The volume today has been insane, but we see a huge spike in advance of the run-up of the stock yesterday,” he said.\nZhen was referencing Wednesday’s major late-day gain in GameStop shares, which ultimately closed higher by more than 100%.The stock rallied further during Thursday’s volatile session and was halted multiple times. It ended up closing Thursday at $108.73 per share, up 18.6%. It had reached as high as $184.68 intraday.\nThe sudden surge followed news Tuesday that the company’s chief financial officer, Jim Bell, plans to resign in late March. Media reports suggested the departure could be linked to board member Ryan Cohen’s desire to see GameStop accelerate its digital transformation.\nThe stock’s big two-day move puzzled some on Wall Street, and CNBC’s Jim Cramer contended earlier Thursday that a CFO shakeup is unlikely to be a catalyst for such a significant rally. Whatever the cause, the GameStop resurgence calls to mind the Reddit-sparked trading mania that first engulfed the stock in January, when it soared to $483 per share.\n“What happened with GameStop when it went to $480 was one of the dumbest, most nonsensical things that I’ve seen in quite some time. This is the second dumbest,” Loop Capital Markets analyst Anthony Chukumba said Thursday on CNBC’s“Power Lunch.”He recently dropped his GameStop coverage, citing its disconnection from fundamentals.\n“I’m gobsmacked now, just as I was a few weeks ago,” Chukumba added.\nThe late January surge in GameStop put financial pressure on hedge funds and other investors who shorted the stock, which is essentially a bet that it will decrease in price.\nThe saga has in some ways served as a wake-up call for the hedge fund industry, according to Gabe Plotkin, founder of Melvin Capital. Plotkin’s fund got caught on the wrong end of the GameStop trade January.\nGoing forward, Plotkin told Congress earlier this month that he expects funds, including his own, to more closely monitor social media sites now that the power of forums like Reddit’s WallStreetBets have been demonstrated.\n“I think they saw an opportunity to drive the price of a stock higher and today with social media and other memes, there’s the ability to collectively do so,” he said. “That was a risk factor that, up until recently, we had never seen.”\nZhen co-founded Thinknum in 2014,according to his LinkedIn, but the company’s Reddit-specific dataset went live in late January as the GameStop frenzy was unfolding.\nAccording to a blog post on Thinknum’s website, the dataset “tracks the number of times NYSE and NASDAQ tickers are mentioned in the top 100 posts on r/WallStreetBets and r/Stocks in real time.”\nIn Thursday’s CNBC interview, Zhen stressed that Thinknum does not claim for its online datasets to be predictive of stocks poised to rally.\n“We provide a service where investors can track when the number of mentions on Reddit for any particular stock is increasing. We don’t interpret or analyze the data. We don’t claim the stock will go up,” said Zhen, who used to work at a hedge fund.\n“But what we are saying is that there’s a lot of chatter around the stock today ... and if you’re an investor, you need to pay attention,” he said.\nIn addition to the recently launched Reddit offering, Zhen said Thinknum has about 30 other datasets, such as those focused on product pricing and where companies are opening stores. “Reddit is one oversized sample recently but there are many other data trails that good investors pay attention to,” Zhen said.\nThe Securities and Exchange Commission said in January that it was reviewing the GameStop saga. When asked by CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin asked whether Thinknum has been contacted by the SEC, Zhen said: “We have gotten many inquiries from government bodies, which I can’t comment on specifically.”\nThinknum also has seen increased interest from investors and corporations, Zhen said. “The interest has been substantial. It’s the most I’ve seen in six years doing this.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":324,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":366102811,"gmtCreate":1614403347533,"gmtModify":1703477343352,"author":{"id":"3574743547860092","authorId":"3574743547860092","name":"RickyMTH","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c13393511e658f9c1117cada108d6638","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574743547860092","authorIdStr":"3574743547860092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Why coin drop too fast?","listText":"Why coin drop too fast?","text":"Why coin drop too fast?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/366102811","repostId":"1117820997","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":744,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":346423039,"gmtCreate":1618104440721,"gmtModify":1634294906165,"author":{"id":"3574743547860092","authorId":"3574743547860092","name":"RickyMTH","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c13393511e658f9c1117cada108d6638","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574743547860092","authorIdStr":"3574743547860092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"THCB is coming back !!!! 🥴🥴","listText":"THCB is coming back !!!! 🥴🥴","text":"THCB is coming back !!!! 🥴🥴","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/346423039","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1309,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":326280167,"gmtCreate":1615653923359,"gmtModify":1703491915057,"author":{"id":"3574743547860092","authorId":"3574743547860092","name":"RickyMTH","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c13393511e658f9c1117cada108d6638","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574743547860092","authorIdStr":"3574743547860092"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Will they?","listText":"Will they?","text":"Will they?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/326280167","repostId":"2118630979","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2118630979","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1615562135,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2118630979?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-12 23:15","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Could Roblox Make You Rich in 2021?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2118630979","media":"Motley Fool ","summary":"The creative gaming platform that is wildly popular among kids has finally hit the public market.","content":"
Booming gaming platform for kids Roblox (NYSE:RBLX) hit the public markets this week with a direct listing after dropping its initial interest in conducting a traditional initial public offering (IPO). Here's why.

Shares of AMC Entertainment are dramatically overvalued and poised for a brutal fall.

So says LightShed Partners analyst Rich Greenfield, who placed a sell rating on AMC's stock on Wednesday. He sees the struggling movie theater chain's share price plunging to $0.01. AMC currently trades near $10.

Yes, you read that correctly. Greenfield is warning AMC's shareholders that they could lose essentially all of their money.

Greenfield cautions that AMC might not survive the damage wrought by the coronavirus crisis. Although people will continue to go to the movies, he says lower attendance levels will continue to weigh heavily on AMC's profits. Thus, Greenfield argues that AMC's earnings will not support its current stock price.

Worse still, with AMC being forced to take on enormous amounts of debt to endure the pandemic, its interest payments will make it difficult for the company to survive over the long term. Greenfield, in turn, contends that AMC's future \"is very much in doubt.\"

Should you sell your AMC shares?

Greenfield's arguments are valid. Here's why.Shares of AMC Entertainment are dramatically overvalued and poised for a brutal fall.So says LightShed Partners analyst Rich Greenfield, who placed a sell rating on AMC's stock on Wednesday. He sees the struggling movie theater chain's share price plunging to $0.01. AMC currently trades near $10.Yes, you read that correctly. Greenfield is warning AMC's shareholders that they could lose essentially all of their money.Greenfield cautions that AMC might not survive the damage wrought by the coronavirus crisis. Although people will continue to go to the movies, he says lower attendance levels will continue to weigh heavily on AMC's profits. Thus, Greenfield argues that AMC's earnings will not support its current stock price.Worse still, with AMC being forced to take on enormous amounts of debt to endure the pandemic, its interest payments will make it difficult for the company to survive over the long term. Greenfield, in turn, contends that AMC's future \"is very much in doubt.\"Should you sell your AMC shares?Greenfield's arguments are valid. People are unlikely to rush back to crowded movie theaters even after the health crisis subsides. New coronavirus variants could make COVID-19 a constant threat, and many people will likely determine that going to a theater to see a movie they can watch just a few weeks later in the safety and comfort of their homes simply isn't worth the risk. With AMC scheduled to release earnings after the market close today, investors will receive an update as to the company's current financial situation.
