He adds, \"This thing will be hell,\" it could be \"the biggest crash ever,\" and the start of \"the next big economic downturn.\"

When? By the end of June, if not sooner, it seems.

That's less than 10 weeks away. Oh well.

Dent's forecast seems to have struck some kind of chord: For about a week or longer the article was the most popular article at ThinkAdvisor.com. But although he may be unique in setting a deadline, he's not the only guru predicting disaster.

Just this week I got a note from Jonathan Ruffer, an eminent money manager in London, with this dire warning: \"I take it pretty much for granted that the 40 year bull market is ending, and that it will be replaced by hard investment times.\" And Jeremy Grantham (also born in England, but long based here) recently concluded the S&P 500 could end up losing us all money over the next 20 years even before you deduct inflation, and suspects a quick 25-30% market slump may be ahead.

I have a guilty secret. I'm a sucker for these warnings (OK, maybe not for Dent's). They often make for compelling reading. The most bearish stock market forecasters are generally more intelligent, more freethinking, and more interesting than the average Wall Street salesman. They usually write much better, too. Hussman's math and logic are almost unarguable. Why, asked John Wesley, does the devil have the best tunes? (I am not comparing these people to a religious devil, of course, only to the Wall Street equivalent: Sinners who may interfere with the business).

And their arguments make plenty of sense. Maybe not those predicting a market collapse in time for Wimbledon, but those warning us of grim years ahead. The U.S. stock market is almost 90% above the level -- all sorts of measures are telling us some version of Alien's \"Danger! The emergency destruct system is now activated! The ship will detonate in T minutes 10 minutes.\" Run, don't walk, to the escape pod. Don't forget the cat.

And most of the most bullish forecasts we hear from Wall Street involve the simple fallacy of double-counting: The more stocks rise the better their \"historic returns,\" which a salesman then cheerfully extrapolates into the future.

Ergo, the more expensive stocks are, the more attractive they are.

The bears have had plenty of logic and math on their side. But most of them have been predicting various reruns of the Great Depression for most of the past 20 years. Not just in 2000 and 2007, which were good times to get out of stocks, but also the rest of the time, which weren't.

Over the past 20 years, a simple U.S. stock market index fund such as the SPDR S&P 500 ETF $(SPY.AU)$ or Vanguard Total Stock Market Index fund has quintupled your money.

These forecasts are always guaranteed to generate a lot of attention. More important, fears of a market crash have kept vast numbers of ordinary people out of stocks completely. In my day to day conversations I'm struck by how many otherwise sensible people think, not simply that the stock market is risky, but that you can, and possibly will, \"lose everything.\"

Why is this? And why do I (and many others) find myself peeking at the latest iceberg warning? It's hard wired into us, psychologist Sarah Newcomb tells me. Warnings trigger our body's stress, flight-or-fight responses, she says. \"The story that there may be a market boom may move us slightly, but the story that they may be a market crash moves us more,\" she says.

Newcomb, who has a Ph.D. in behavioral economics, is the director of behavioral science at financial research company Morningstar.

I guess it goes back to all those eons when our ancestors were roaming the savannas of Africa. So we're more attuned to any story telling us there might be about to lose money than to any story telling us we're more likely to gain.

It's not that the bull market salesmen are clearly right. Actually, math and cold hard logic should give anyone cause for concern, especially about the most euphoric U.S. stocks.

But even if these skeptics turn out to be right, when is it going to happen? Will the market go up another 10% or 20% or 50% before it turns? Will it happen in June this year--or June in 2025?

I always figure that the day I finally decide to tune these guys out altogether will be the moment the Titanic hits the iceberg.

But there are options instead of trying to guess on Boom and Doom. We can just let the market decide for us instead. The market rose above the 200-day moving average again, triggering it was time to get back in, on June 1.

Most people will use the S&P 500 index as their trigger, but Faber found it worked for other assets such as REITs as well. Global investors may prefer the MSCI All-Country World Index.

Is this system guaranteed to work? Of course not. But nor is anything else. That includes all those bullish predictions that stocks will earn you inflation plus 6% a year. We get 70% of the population vaccinated, then all the fundamentals are there for good, strong growth that we left back in January, February of 2020,” he said. “We’ve still got room to catch up to where we were. We’re making up for lost ground.”‘No reason to be pulling the plug’The economy officially entered recession in February 2020, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research, which makes the official call on contractions and expansions. While the U.S. is poised for another quarter of strong growth, gross domestic product is still running a bit below where it was prior to the Covid-19 onset. That’s part of the reason Waller concurs with his fellow central bankers in seeingthe need to keep policy loose. The Fed is currently holding short-term borrowing rates near zero while it purchases at least $120 billion of bonds each month. In a major policy shift last year, the Fed pledged that it will not raise rates until it sees full and inclusive employment, and is willing to tolerate inflation a bit above the traditional 2% target until it gets there. Fed officials have expressed concern about the uneven nature of the recovery, particularly regarding those at the lower end of the income spectrum.“We’ve got to make that up first,” Waller said. “Other parts of the economy seem to have really come back. We still have relatively high unemployment rates, particularly for minorities, and so we’ve still got a long way to go. There’s no reason to be pulling the plug on our support till we’re really through this.”Waller added that he thinks inflationary pressures that have begun to show up are likely temporary, a view widely held at the Fed. The consumer price index rose 2.6% in March from a year ago.Waller said he expects the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge based on personal consumption expenditures could run around 2.5% for 2021.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"SPY":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":272,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":108100910,"gmtCreate":1620002953930,"gmtModify":1634208656625,"author":{"id":"3574935505074782","authorId":"3574935505074782","name":"Ailuros","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d7896e74e0a34781e49dc0c310e473e2","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574935505074782","authorIdStr":"3574935505074782"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment ","listText":"Like and comment ","text":"Like and comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/108100910","repostId":"1167373947","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":554,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":376172162,"gmtCreate":1619100391156,"gmtModify":1634288559772,"author":{"id":"3574935505074782","authorId":"3574935505074782","name":"Ailuros","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d7896e74e0a34781e49dc0c310e473e2","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574935505074782","authorIdStr":"3574935505074782"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment","listText":"Like and comment","text":"Like and comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/376172162","repostId":"1147263213","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1147263213","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1619075516,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1147263213?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-22 15:11","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Intel Reports Earnings Thursday. When Gelsinger unveiled the company’s plans for the future in late March,Intel (ticker: INTC) said it expected full-year earnings of $4 a share from revenue of $76.5 billion. Including various adjustments, such as those related to Intel’s sale of its flash-memory business in 2020, EPS is likely to be $4.55, while revenue is expected to be $72 billion, the company said.
\n
As part of the plan, Intel said it would once again license its x86 chip designs to other companies, and create a foundry services unit that would produce chips for third parties interested in paying Intel to fabricate semiconductors.
\n
Intel didn’t issue precise new financial guidance for the first quarter, but said it expected results better than its prior forecast. Previously, Intel said it expected adjusted first-quarter earnings of $1.10 a share and revenue of $17.5 billion. The consensus forecast is for adjusted earnings of $1.15 a share from revenue of $17.74 billion.
\n
Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Christopher Rolland, who called the company’s full-year guidance “underwhelming,” said he is expecting investors to focus on Gelsinger’s long-term plans for the company, and to look for more details about Intel’s next generation chip-making technology. According to the analyst’s data sources, notebook sales were strong in the first quarter, but it is less clear what’s coming through the rest of the year.
\n
Analysts predict that Intel’s client computing segment, which includes notebook sales, will report first-quarter revenue of $10.02 billion. That is the company’s largest segment, followed by the data center operation, which is expected to report revenue of $5.84 billion.
\n
Despite Intel’s decision to double down on its manufacturing capabilities, BMO Capital Markets analyst Ambrish Srivastava wrote in a client note Monday that he isn’t expecting executives to offer details about its goals, and their effect on Intel’s financial performance.
\n
Still, Srivastava said, investors should watch closely for commentary about the impact to the company’s capital spending, profit, and free cash flow, among other things.
\n
Intel’s report arrives amid a global shortage of semiconductors that is hurting production of goods ranging from appliances to cars and videogame consoles. Gelsinger has previously told Barron’s that he expects the chip shortage to last two years.
\n
Of the analysts that cover Intel, 43% rate shares at Buy, 34% have Hold ratings, and 23% rate the stock at Sell. The average target for the stock price is $68.71, which implies a return of 8.6%.
\n
Intel stock advanced 1.6% to $63.70 in Wednesday trading. When Gelsinger unveiled the company’s plans for the future in late March,Intel (ticker: INTC) said it expected full-year earnings of $4 a share from revenue of $76.5 billion. Including various adjustments, such as those related to Intel’s sale of its flash-memory business in 2020, EPS is likely to be $4.55, while revenue is expected to be $72 billion, the company said.\nAs part of the plan, Intel said it would once again license its x86 chip designs to other companies, and create a foundry services unit that would produce chips for third parties interested in paying Intel to fabricate semiconductors.\nIntel didn’t issue precise new financial guidance for the first quarter, but said it expected results better than its prior forecast. Previously, Intel said it expected adjusted first-quarter earnings of $1.10 a share and revenue of $17.5 billion. The consensus forecast is for adjusted earnings of $1.15 a share from revenue of $17.74 billion.\nSusquehanna Financial Group analyst Christopher Rolland, who called the company’s full-year guidance “underwhelming,” said he is expecting investors to focus on Gelsinger’s long-term plans for the company, and to look for more details about Intel’s next generation chip-making technology. According to the analyst’s data sources, notebook sales were strong in the first quarter, but it is less clear what’s coming through the rest of the year.\nAnalysts predict that Intel’s client computing segment, which includes notebook sales, will report first-quarter revenue of $10.02 billion. That is the company’s largest segment, followed by the data center operation, which is expected to report revenue of $5.84 billion.\nDespite Intel’s decision to double down on its manufacturing capabilities, BMO Capital Markets analyst Ambrish Srivastava wrote in a client note Monday that he isn’t expecting executives to offer details about its goals, and their effect on Intel’s financial performance.\nStill, Srivastava said, investors should watch closely for commentary about the impact to the company’s capital spending, profit, and free cash flow, among other things.\nIntel’s report arrives amid a global shortage of semiconductors that is hurting production of goods ranging from appliances to cars and videogame consoles. Gelsinger has previously told Barron’s that he expects the chip shortage to last two years.\nOf the analysts that cover Intel, 43% rate shares at Buy, 34% have Hold ratings, and 23% rate the stock at Sell. The average target for the stock price is $68.71, which implies a return of 8.6%.\nIntel stock advanced 1.6% to $63.70 in Wednesday trading. Shares in the chip maker have gained 12% in the past year, while the PHLX Semiconductor index, or Sox, has doubled.\nRolland pointed out that since Intel’s most recent quarterly report, its stock has gained 14%, while the Sox rose 5.8%. The analyst said that outperformance may indicate that expectations for the earnings are high, a potential negative for the stock.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"INTC":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":264,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":146656001,"gmtCreate":1626078023303,"gmtModify":1631889236945,"author":{"id":"3574935505074782","authorId":"3574935505074782","name":"Ailuros","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d7896e74e0a34781e49dc0c310e473e2","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574935505074782","authorIdStr":"3574935505074782"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Comment and like","listText":"Comment and like","text":"Comment and like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/146656001","repostId":"1159040436","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1159040436","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1626077352,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1159040436?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-07-12 16:09","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tencent Music shares fell 1.5% in premarket trading.","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1159040436","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Tencent Music shares fell 1.5% in premarket trading.\nChinese regulators are set to order Tencent Hol","content":"
Tencent Music shares fell 1.5% in premarket trading.
\n
Chinese regulators are set to order Tencent Holdings Ltd. to give up exclusive rights to music labels, Reuters reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
\n
Tencent Music has long held a commanding lead in Chinese music through exclusive rights to a major chunk of Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group Corp.’s catalogs, which it then sublicenses to smaller platforms including those operated by NetEase, Alibaba and Xiaomi Corp. These are rare times of restraint among day traders, who until last month’s $500 billion crash were famously in the throes of bullish mania.
\n
Another way of looking at it: A slew of market excesses fueled by leverage are gettingsnuffed out.
\n
“Price and narrative are the fundamentals in cryptocurrency markets -- right now, both are shaken,” said Nico Cordeiro, chief investment officer at Strix Leviathan, a digital-asset investment firm.
\n
Take the gap between Bitcoin futures market and the spot price. At the height of the mania in April, the premium shot to 50% on an annualized basis -- meaning investors could lock in a massive profit with a simple convergence trade.
\n
It’s now collapsed to just 9%, according to data providerSkew, which tracked rolling three-month contracts on crypto exchange Binance.
\n

\n
Volume in derivatives typically exceeds spot activity on most days, on strong demand to speculate with easy-to-trade instruments that offer leverage -- often 100 times -- to boot. All that means bulls almost always outnumber bears.
\n
Now, crypto conviction is falling. Support from Bitcoin’s star promoter Elon Musk has wavered and there are new regulatory hurdles in China and the U.S. For the past two weeks, prices have wobbled around $40,000, unable to move much in either direction.
\n
Retail demand for long positions across the curve is vanishing. The futures-spot spread is narrowing on BitMEX and other crypto platforms to bring it closer to the level on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, an institutionally oriented platform.
\n
It all signals harder times for quants like BKCoin Capital who havenotchedoutsize gains with simple arbitrage strategies that involve going short futures and long the spot.
\n
“In mature, liquid markets, institutional and sophisticated investors search for various arb opportunities,” said Kelly Pettersen, head of business development at Skew, nowacquiredby Coinbase Global Inc. “Applying this same strategy in crypto, over time, means the market and the trade will continue to get more popular, and the spread will narrow.”The basis on Bitcoin futures is narrowing in a sign of tempered optimism
\n
Source: Skew
\n
Demand to go long is also falling in a typically lucrative trade known as perpetual futures.
\n
The uniquely crypto derivative has no expiry date and is kept in line with the spot price thanks to incentives created by a funding rate. When sentiment was rosy, the charge got as high as 0.3% on the BitMEX platform -- meaning bulls were willing to payup tohold onto a Bitcoin bet for just hours.
\n
But over the past two weeks, the rate has been sitting at zero or innegative territory.
\n
Hedging Demand
\n
While traders in the stock market primarily use options for hedging, investors in crypto assets have long preferred to buy them as a way to bet on further gains. These are rare times of restraint among day traders, who until last month’s $500 billion crash were famously in the throes of bullish mania.\nAnother way of looking at it: A slew of market excesses fueled by leverage are gettingsnuffed out.\n“Price and narrative are the fundamentals in cryptocurrency markets -- right now, both are shaken,” said Nico Cordeiro, chief investment officer at Strix Leviathan, a digital-asset investment firm.\nTake the gap between Bitcoin futures market and the spot price. At the height of the mania in April, the premium shot to 50% on an annualized basis -- meaning investors could lock in a massive profit with a simple convergence trade.\nIt’s now collapsed to just 9%, according to data providerSkew, which tracked rolling three-month contracts on crypto exchange Binance.\n\nVolume in derivatives typically exceeds spot activity on most days, on strong demand to speculate with easy-to-trade instruments that offer leverage -- often 100 times -- to boot. All that means bulls almost always outnumber bears.\nNow, crypto conviction is falling. Support from Bitcoin’s star promoter Elon Musk has wavered and there are new regulatory hurdles in China and the U.S. For the past two weeks, prices have wobbled around $40,000, unable to move much in either direction.\nRetail demand for long positions across the curve is vanishing. The futures-spot spread is narrowing on BitMEX and other crypto platforms to bring it closer to the level on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, an institutionally oriented platform.\nIt all signals harder times for quants like BKCoin Capital who havenotchedoutsize gains with simple arbitrage strategies that involve going short futures and long the spot.\n“In mature, liquid markets, institutional and sophisticated investors search for various arb opportunities,” said Kelly Pettersen, head of business development at Skew, nowacquiredby Coinbase Global Inc. “Applying this same strategy in crypto, over time, means the market and the trade will continue to get more popular, and the spread will narrow.”The basis on Bitcoin futures is narrowing in a sign of tempered optimism\nSource: Skew\nDemand to go long is also falling in a typically lucrative trade known as perpetual futures.\nThe uniquely crypto derivative has no expiry date and is kept in line with the spot price thanks to incentives created by a funding rate. When sentiment was rosy, the charge got as high as 0.3% on the BitMEX platform -- meaning bulls were willing to payup tohold onto a Bitcoin bet for just hours.\nBut over the past two weeks, the rate has been sitting at zero or innegative territory.\nHedging Demand\nWhile traders in the stock market primarily use options for hedging, investors in crypto assets have long preferred to buy them as a way to bet on further gains. For that reason, outstanding calls have always exceeded puts in crypto markets, Skew figures show.\nOpen-interest data show that’s still true. Yet over the past month the cost of one-month puts on Bitcoin has risen above the price of comparable calls -- a sign of rising demand to hedge.\nThat suggests crypto options are looking more like equities where defensive contracts have long commanded a premium over bullish counterparts.\nThe upshot? Caution is building across a Bitcoin ecosystem acutely prone to speculative extremes.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":212,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":194767186,"gmtCreate":1621402270145,"gmtModify":1634189428291,"author":{"id":"3574935505074782","authorId":"3574935505074782","name":"Ailuros","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d7896e74e0a34781e49dc0c310e473e2","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574935505074782","authorIdStr":"3574935505074782"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment pls","listText":"Like and comment pls","text":"Like and comment pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/194767186","repostId":"2136918305","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2136918305","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1621400758,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2136918305?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-19 13:05","market":"fut","language":"en","title":"Iron Ore Halts Two-Day Gain as Steel Slides, BHP Mine to Open","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2136918305","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"(Bloomberg) -- Iron ore futures in Singapore halted a two-day rebound as Chinese steel prices extend","content":"
(Bloomberg) -- Iron ore futures in Singapore halted a two-day rebound as Chinese steel prices extended declines amid further government curbs and BHP Group prepares to start one of the world’s biggest new mines.

BHP’s South Flank iron ore project in Western Australia will announce first production in the next few days, Chief Executive Officer Mike Henry said Tuesday. CEO Robert Cohen said the move was precipitated by \"changes at our current distributor that we believe have impacted its ability to market our products effectively.\" Those words likely startled investors, many of whom decided to sell their shares.
\n
ZOMEDICA'S STOCK PRICE DROPPED SHARPLY ON THURSDAY. Zacks estimates call for its FY21 revenue to jump another 22%, with FY22 projected to climb 7% higher to $60 billion. On the bottom-line, its adjusted earnings are projected to pop 19% and 11%, respectively over this stretch. Its current $1.30 a share quarterly dividend yields 4.47% to crush its industry’s 2.46% average and the recently-rising 30-year U.S. Treasury’s 2.28%. ABBV’s yield is even better since the stock has climbed 37% in the past year to blow away its Large Cap Pharma space’s 13% climb. This outperformance stretches over the last five years, up 130% vs. 71%.

The stock has jumped 11% in the past three months to top the S&P 500 and its industry. AbbVie popped to 52-week records Monday, before it slipped Tuesday after it stopped right below overbought RSI territory of 70—currently sits at 62. On the valuation front, ABBV trades at a deep discount to its industry at 8.9X forward 12-month earnings vs. 14.3X, and its own year-long highs.

AbbVie’s valuation and dividend grabbed Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway’s attention last year. And 11 of the 15 brokerage recommendations Zacks has for the stock are “Strong Buys,” with nothing below a “Hold.”

PepsiCo PEP)

PepsiCo is more diversified than its main rival Coca-Cola KO, with offerings beyond beverages. And the space could be a real game-changer if consumers buy into Beyond Meat’s broader sustainability pitch.

PepsiCo’s array of products helped its 2020 revenue jump 5% to come in at $70.4 billion. Zacks estimates call for PEP’s fiscal 2021 revenue to climb 7% higher to $75.2 billion, with FY22 set to jump another 4.6%. Meanwhile, the company’s adjusted EPS figures are projected to climb by 10% this year and another 8% next year.

The consumer packaged goods giant’s $1.075 a share quarterly dividend is up 5% against the year-ago period. PepsiCo’s 2.79% yield comes in not too far below KO’s 3.1% even though PEP stock has easily outpaced KO in the past three years, up 63% vs. 42%. PEP’s outperformance stretches back over the past five years as well. PepsiCo’s yield also blows by the 10-year U.S. Treasury’s 1.62% and the S&P 500’s 1.34%.

PEP shares have popped 10% in the last three months and they sit about 2% below their records at the moment. Despite the positivity, the stock it below overbought RSI levels (70) at 57. On top of that, PepsiCo has consistently traded at a discount to KO in terms of forward earnings—23.6X vs. 24.6X. PepsiCo currently lands a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) and 8 of the 15 brokerage recommendations Zacks has are “Strong Buys,” with only one “Sell.”

NextEra Energy Partners, LP NEP

NextEra Energy Partners is a growth-focused limited partnership formed by energy giant NextEra Energy NEE, which itself offers a 2.06% dividend yield. NEP acquires, manages, and owns contracted clean energy projects with stable, long-term cash flows. The Florida-based firm owns interests in wind and solar projects in the U.S. and also has a foothold in the natural gas market.

All three areas will remain vital as the U.S. moves away from coal. For instance, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that renewables accounted for roughly 20% of electricity generation in the U.S. last year, while natural gas leads the way at 40%. The EIA projects renewables will account for roughly 40% by 2050, with most of that expansion coming from wind and solar, while natural gas is expected to hold steady.

NEP topped our Q1 estimates on April 21, with revenue up 16%. This beat fiscal 2020’s 7% sales growth and FY19’s 11%. Zacks estimates call for NEP’s FY21 revenue to jump 50% to $1.37 billion, with FY22 expected to come in 13% higher. Meanwhile, it’s projected to swing from an adjusted loss of -$0.81 a share last year to +$3.64 in 2021. And the company’s strong post-release EPS revisions help it land a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) at the moment, alongside its “A” grade for Momentum.

NEP shares were riding high until they began to sell off in February, alongside other growth names, after they climbed from roughly $45 a share in March 2020 to over $80 by early 2021. NEP dipped another 2.3% during regular trading Tuesday to $65.68 a share, which put it about 22% below its records.

The downturn has pushed it below oversold RSI levels (30) at 27.5. This could give it room to climb, especially for investors with long-term outlooks. That said, the stock has fallen below its 200-day moving average, which means some might want to wait for signs of a comeback before considering the stock that’s climbed 175% in the past five years to double the Alternative Energy industry and top the S&P 500’s 137%.

The pullback has helped recalibrate NEP’s valuation, with it trading 50% below its own year-long median at 20.5X forward 12-month earnings, which represents a discount to the benchmark index’s 22.3X. The recent downturn has also helped lift its already-strong dividend yield to 3.79%.

The company also constantly raises its quarterly payout, with its current dividend up 240% since its early days as a public company in 2014. NEP’s 3.79% yield tops the 10-year U.S. Treasury’s 1.62%. The EIA projects renewables will account for roughly 40% by 2050, with most of that expansion coming from wind and solar, while natural gas is expected to hold steady.NEP topped our Q1 estimates on April 21, with revenue up 16%. This beat fiscal 2020’s 7% sales growth and FY19’s 11%. Zacks estimates call for NEP’s FY21 revenue to jump 50% to $1.37 billion, with FY22 expected to come in 13% higher. NEP dipped another 2.3% during regular trading Tuesday to $65.68 a share, which put it about 22% below its records. The downturn has pushed it below oversold RSI levels (30) at 27.5. This could give it room to climb, especially for investors with long-term outlooks. That said, the stock has fallen below its 200-day moving average, which means some might want to wait for signs of a comeback before considering the stock that’s climbed 175% in the past five years to double the Alternative Energy industry and top the S&P 500’s 137%.The pullback has helped recalibrate NEP’s valuation, with it trading 50% below its own year-long median at 20.5X forward 12-month earnings, which represents a discount to the benchmark index’s 22.3X.
