20% premarket rally.

AMC Entertainment shares erased a 20% rally and plunged double digits in premarket trading on Thursday following a stock sale announcement.

The meme stock last traded down 10% after soaring more than 20% earlier Thursday before markets opened.

AMC said in a regulatory filing that it may offer and sell from time to time up to an aggregate of 11.55 million shares of its Class A common stock.

The move comes after AMC soared 95% in the regular trading session Wednesday to close at an all-time high of $62.55. Its previous closing record of $35.86 was reached in 2015, according to FactSet data.

AMC’s stock spiked as it hit an intraday high of $72.62, well above its previous intraday record of $36.72.

In a similar occurrence seen in January with the meme stocks like GameStop, defiant short-sellers have increased their bets against AMC shares over the last month, possibly fueling the move higher. About 18% of the AMC shares available for trading are still sold short through Wednesday, according to S3 Partners.

On Wednesday, short-sellers lost $2.8 billion as the stock surged, according to S3. That brings their year-to-date losses to more than $5 billion, according to S3.

Short sellers like hedge funds borrow the stock from an investment bank and sell it in the hopes of buying it back at a lower price and returning the shares, pocketing the difference. However, when a stock surges higher, a so-called short squeeze can occur where investors are forced to buy back the stock to cut their losses.

Trading was halted several times Wednesday as shares were up more than 100% at one point. At the end of the day, more than 710 million shares exchanged hands. That’s nearly double the number of AMC’s shares outstanding. The company’s 30-day average volume is just 143 million shares.

Retail investors — many active on Reddit’s WallStreetBets forum — led the AMC rally, and AMC executives have taken note. On Wednesday, the company announced a new portal to connect with individual investors and offered free popcorn, exclusive screenings and other perks to those who hold its stock.

JPMorgan noted that in the last week, retail order flow into AMC jumped to $583 million, 6.9 standard deviations above the average level of the last one year. According to their quantitative strategy, this kind of imbalance can lead to more outperformance by the stock in coming weeks.

AMC shares are up 2850% so far this year, bringing its market capitalization to more than $31 billion. That makes it worth more than stocks like Delta Air Lines, State Street and Best Buy.

Wednesday’s wild trading activity comes even after an investment firm reportedly sold off its stake in the company. On Tuesday, AMC revealed it sold 8.5 million newly issued shares to Mudrick Capital, the latest in a series of capital raises for the stock. The hedge fund later sold all of its AMC stock for a profitthat same day, according to Bloomberg News.

Most Wall Street analysts believe AMC shares will plummet eventually. The average 12-month target price of analysts is $5.11, according to FactSet.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
AMC Entertainment Holdings Files To Sell Up To 11.55Mln Shares
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAMC Entertainment Holdings Files To Sell Up To 11.55Mln Shares\n
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Tiger Newspress
\n
2021-06-03 19:06
\n
\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
AMC tumbles 10% after new stock sale announcement, wipes out 20% premarket rally.

Its previous closing record of $35.86 was reached in 2015, according to FactSet data.AMC’s stock spiked as it hit an intraday high of $72.62, well above its previous intraday record of $36.72.In a similar occurrence seen in January with the meme stocks like GameStop, defiant short-sellers have increased their bets against AMC shares over the last month, possibly fueling the move higher. About 18% of the AMC shares available for trading are still sold short through Wednesday, according to S3 Partners. On Wednesday, short-sellers lost $2.8 billion as the stock surged, according to S3. The EV sector is no longer limited to China, it has expanded globally and there is a noticeable surge in the demand of EVs. One such company making the most of the EV boom is Nio (NYSE:NIO). Once NIO stock spiked high and looked overvalued to many but it has dipped lately and is trading at $31 today.
\n
As the revenue and sales continue to grow, NIO stock is perfectly positioned in the market. It has innovative ideas and it has replaced the traditional car showrooms with NIO houses where the whole family can consider purchasing one of the EVs. The recent dip in the stock is a great buying opportunity for long-term investors. NIO stock will go higher in the coming quarters and will generate profit for investors. Let’s take a look at the catalysts driving the stock.
\n
An Alternative Source of Income
\n
Nio does not restrict itself to the sale of EVs, it has generated an alternative source of income that is significantly contributing to the revenue and net earnings. It offers a battery swap subscription service where car owners can join to enjoy quick battery swapping or to recharge the battery. The company allows buyers to invest in a plan that saves around $10,000 on the price of the car. In return, the car owners pay around $142 in a month to lease a 70 kWh pack and enjoy six-monthly swaps. The fully automatic swap only takes three minutes. Until March, the company had already completed 200,000 battery swaps.
\n
The other sales in Q1 2021 stood at $88 million which is a 395% rise from the same quarter previous year. It is also 23% from Q4 2020. As the sales of the company increase, there is a rise in the other sales because of a growing demand for the battery as a swap service. This will take NIO stock higher.
\n
It has signed an agreement with Ford(NYSE:F) to allow Mach-E owners to use the charging networks owned by NIO in China. NIO already announced its plans to expand the service in China as the EV market continues to grow. The company does not want to restrict itself to China and has plans in place to set up the business in Norway. It will begin by selling the EVs in Norway and will follow up by buildingfour battery swap stationsby the end of next year.
\n
Battery Swap Safety Standard
\n
The Chinese government has recently announced the National Standard for Battery Swap Safety Requirement which will be implemented from Nov 1. The policy works in favor of those who are into domestic battery swapping. As per the standard, the models that have snap-on batteries should be able to support 5,000 battery swaps and models with bolt-on batteries need to support at least 1,500 battery swaps. Nio is the only company that can deliver these vehicles on a large scale because its battery swap-enabled vehicles are already under production.
\n
Nio’s Power Swap 2.0 deployed this year has started operations in Beijing where it performs 312 swaps in a day, almost three times more than the current swap station. It aims to have 500 stations open nationwide by the end of 2021.
\n
The Bottom Line on NIO Stock
\n
Priced at $31, NIO stock is not cheap but the shares are going upwards. They have shown high volatility in the past year and the company is making strong strides in the industry. This is an EV stock that you should hold forever.
\n
The company has positioned itself as an innovator in the crowded EV market. The EV sector is no longer limited to China, it has expanded globally and there is a noticeable surge in the demand of EVs. One such company making the most of the EV boom is Nio (NYSE:NIO). Once NIO stock spiked high and looked overvalued to many but it has dipped lately and is trading at $31 today.\nAs the revenue and sales continue to grow, NIO stock is perfectly positioned in the market. Let’s take a look at the catalysts driving the stock.\nAn Alternative Source of Income\nNio does not restrict itself to the sale of EVs, it has generated an alternative source of income that is significantly contributing to the revenue and net earnings. Until March, the company had already completed 200,000 battery swaps.\nThe other sales in Q1 2021 stood at $88 million which is a 395% rise from the same quarter previous year. It is also 23% from Q4 2020. As the sales of the company increase, there is a rise in the other sales because of a growing demand for the battery as a swap service. This will take NIO stock higher.\nIt has signed an agreement with Ford(NYSE:F) to allow Mach-E owners to use the charging networks owned by NIO in China. NIO already announced its plans to expand the service in China as the EV market continues to grow. The company does not want to restrict itself to China and has plans in place to set up the business in Norway. It will begin by selling the EVs in Norway and will follow up by buildingfour battery swap stationsby the end of next year.\nBattery Swap Safety Standard\nThe Chinese government has recently announced the National Standard for Battery Swap Safety Requirement which will be implemented from Nov 1. The policy works in favor of those who are into domestic battery swapping. As per the standard, the models that have snap-on batteries should be able to support 5,000 battery swaps and models with bolt-on batteries need to support at least 1,500 battery swaps. Nio is the only company that can deliver these vehicles on a large scale because its battery swap-enabled vehicles are already under production.\nNio’s Power Swap 2.0 deployed this year has started operations in Beijing where it performs 312 swaps in a day, almost three times more than the current swap station. It aims to have 500 stations open nationwide by the end of 2021.\nThe Bottom Line on NIO Stock\nPriced at $31, NIO stock is not cheap but the shares are going upwards. They have shown high volatility in the past year and the company is making strong strides in the industry. This is an EV stock that you should hold forever.\nThe company has positioned itself as an innovator in the crowded EV market. Besides the cars, its battery as a service model has served customers and generated high revenue for the company. Even if you think that there is competition in the EV industry, the battery as a service sets NIO stock apart from the competitors.\nFor Nio stock, the only way is up. Do not be misled by the temporary dip in the stock, instead, take it as an opportunity to add it to your portfolio.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":267,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":192103825,"gmtCreate":1621155293967,"gmtModify":1631888210071,"author":{"id":"3575803694164258","authorId":"3575803694164258","name":"FrankieKek","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/da7640cd774b21f6b3c4c45addfc1cf5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575803694164258","authorIdStr":"3575803694164258"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yes good ","listText":"Yes good ","text":"Yes good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/192103825","repostId":"1173244066","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1173244066","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1621004086,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1173244066?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-14 22:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"What Disney, Airbnb and DoorDash results reveal about the post-pandemic economy","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1173244066","media":"CNN","summary":"London (CNN Business)Companies are gearing up for an era in which Covid-19 isn't the primary driver ","content":"
London (CNN Business)Companies are gearing up for an era in which Covid-19 isn't the primary driver of how people spend their money.
\n
The big question: As the coronavirus situation improves in countries like the United States, which trends from the past 14 months will have staying power, and which will be resigned to the pandemic past?
\n
Airbnb, DoorDash and Disney (DIS), which reported results after US markets closed on Thursday, provide some idea.
\n
Airbnb: The company said interest in travel is surging again as vaccines become more widely available, pointing to a sharp increase in bookings in the United Kingdom immediately after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced plans in February to gradually exit lockdown. For US customers aged 60 and above, searches on Airbnb for summer travel rose by more than 60% between February and March.
\n
The company is also ready for more customers to use Airbnb for longer-term stays as they take advantage of greater acceptance of remote work. It said that nearly a quarter of stays last quarter were for 28 days or more, up 14% from 2019. Shares are down slightly in premarket trading.
\n
DoorDash: People are still ordering lots of food delivery even as restaurants open back up for traditional dining. DoorDash reported a 198% jump in revenue last quarter to $1.1 billion even as it dealt with a shortage of workers, and increased its full-year outlook.
\n
\"As markets continued reopening and in-store dining increased across the US, the impact to our order volume was smaller than we expected, which contributed to strong performance in the quarter,\" the company said, though it cautioned that may have been partially attributable to stimulus checks. Shares are up almost 9% in premarket trading.
\n
Disney: Streaming has carried Disney through the pandemic, with Disney+ growing to more than 100 million subscribers. Yet the biggest star in Disney's media universe appears to be shining a little less bright, sending shares down 4%.
\n
The company said Thursday that Disney+ now has 103.6 million subscribers, below the 110 million Wall Street was expecting. That's forced investors to wonder: Is that because people are getting vaccinated and stepping away from streaming? Netflix also reported sluggish subscription growth last quarter.
\n
Down but not out: Disney said it remains on track to reach its long-term subscriber goals despite the apparent slowdown. It's betting that as the pandemic eases, it will be able to produce more movies and shows, helping to bring in new customers.
\n
Whether it's right will become clearer in the months ahead, which will pose the true test of whether people actually ditch their sweatpants, get out of the house and shake up the economy once again.
\n
It could get easier to get a credit card without a credit score
\n
For years, if you didn't have a credit score it was extremely difficult to get a credit card or certain types of loans. erased a 20% rally and plunged double digits in premarket trading on Thursday following a stock sale announcement.

Enhanced benefits that Congress has authorized related to the pandemic expire in September.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":569,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":197822974,"gmtCreate":1621442127998,"gmtModify":1631888210034,"author":{"id":"3575803694164258","authorId":"3575803694164258","name":"FrankieKek","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/da7640cd774b21f6b3c4c45addfc1cf5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575803694164258","authorIdStr":"3575803694164258"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"No bear please …","listText":"No bear please …","text":"No bear please …","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/197822974","repostId":"2136910021","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":242,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":103824154,"gmtCreate":1619769922978,"gmtModify":1634210056522,"author":{"id":"3575803694164258","authorId":"3575803694164258","name":"FrankieKek","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/da7640cd774b21f6b3c4c45addfc1cf5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575803694164258","authorIdStr":"3575803694164258"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great","listText":"Great","text":"Great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/103824154","repostId":"1190755343","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1190755343","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1619769828,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1190755343?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-30 16:03","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Amazon rose more than 2% in premarket trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1190755343","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Amazon rose more than 2% in premarket trading, and its first-quarter net profit surged 220% year-on-","content":"
Amazon rose more than 2% in premarket trading, and its first-quarter net profit surged 220% year-on-year.

Amazon Q1 earnings top estimates, revenue up 44% year-over-year

Amazon (AMZN) reported better-than-expected first-quarter results on Thursday, with quarterly revenue surging past $100 billion again.

Here’s what the company reported in its fiscal first-quarter results, compared to consensus estimates compiled by Bloomberg:

Revenue:$108.5 billion vs. $104.57 billion expected

Earnings per share:$15.79 vs. $9.69 expected

Revenue increased 44% to $108.5 billion in the quarter versus $75.5 billion in the same quarter a year ago.

During the first quarter, Amazon’s core online stores business saw its net sales grow 44% to $52.9 billion compared to $36.65 billion in the year-ago quarter. But for Airbnb, which relies on people to open their homes to guests, the company will need to ramp up its number of hosts instead of building out more real estate or adding flights to meet demand.\nIt’s a similar problem faced by other companies in the gig economy likeUber, which recently announced a$250 million stimulusin an effort to bring more drivers to its platform.\n“As vaccination rates increase in the United States, we are observing that consumer demand for Mobility is recovering faster than driver availability, and consumer demand for Delivery continues to exceed courier availability,”Uber saidin a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.\nChesky said Airbnb isn’t likely to offer “a lot of incentives” to bring new hosts on board since there’s already a huge amount of demand for service.\n“I think that all we have to do is just continue to tell our story of Airbnb, and the benefits of hosting.
