(BLOOMBERG) - TE Asia Healthcare Partners, backed by private equity firm TPG Capital, expects to achieve a valuation of US$1 billion (S$1.33 billion) in five years as it expands in South-east Asia, according to its chief executive officer.\n\n\nThe Singapore-based company plans to invest US$90 million mainly in Malaysia and Indonesia this year, building new cardiac hospitals and repurposing an existing medical facility in Kuala Lumpur into an orthopedic center, Mr Eng Aik Meng said in an interview. That would take TE Asia's total investment to US$260 million by the end of this year, he added.\nThe healthcare firm plans to double that investment in the next three to five years as it seeks to set foot in more countries and offers a broader range of specialized medical services, Mr Eng said.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\"If we continue at this pace, this is easily a US$1 billion company\" in five years, he said.\nDemand for healthcare services, especially in specialized fields, is set to rise as countries in South-east Asia become more affluent. The average health-care spending in the region was at 4 per cent of gross domestic product in 2018, compared to 5.4 per cent in China and about 10 per cent globally, according to a report by the World Bank.\nTE Asia, which has annual revenue of more than US$150 million, focuses on oncology, cardiology and orthopedics. It will raise funds for its future investment from external investors when needed, Mr Eng said, adding that he doesn't rule out the possibility of a listing.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"00662":0.9,"HCSG":0.9,"HR":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1235,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":379878744,"gmtCreate":1618720955288,"gmtModify":1634291254537,"author":{"id":"3578184198505037","authorId":"3578184198505037","name":"faeriewoods","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04104cc9ab397d96e0eeee3c1023d9ad","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578184198505037","authorIdStr":"3578184198505037"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Netflix or Amazon?","listText":"Netflix or Amazon?","text":"Netflix or Amazon?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/379878744","repostId":"1175692875","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1175692875","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1618582708,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1175692875?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-16 22:18","market":"us","language":"en","title":"$544 Billion In Options Expire Today: Here's What Will Move","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1175692875","media":"zerohedge","summary":"While it's not quad (or even triple) witching day, today's a whole lot of weekly options will expire","content":"
While it's not quad (or even triple) witching day, today's a whole lot of weekly options will expire, may of which will be worthless, and others will be providing a supporting \"pin\" to underlying prices. It's why, even though we are enjoying a beautiful spring week, Goldman notes that single stock options trading activity is elevated relative to historical levels. To wit, daily options volumes are up 70% in April, up from YTD lows of $2.4bn on 30-Mar.

In total, across single stocks, $544BN of options are set to expiry today, including $305BN calls. As such, today’s expiry could be important for stocks with large open interest in at-the-money(ATM) options, as market makers delta-hedging their unusually large options portfolios will be active. This flow is likely to dampen volatility in some names while exacerbating stock price moves in others.

How to trade this?

As Goldman's Vishal Vivek writes, at major expirations, options traders track situations wherea large amount of open interest is set to expire. In situations where there is a significant amount of expiring open interest in at-the-money strikes (strike prices at or very near the current stockprice), delta-hedging activity can impact the underlying stock’s trading that day. If market makers or other options traders who delta-hedge their positions are net long ATM options, expiration-related flow could have the effect of dampening stock price movements, causing the stock price to settle near the strike with large open interest. This situation is often referred to as a “pin” and can be an ideal situation fora large investor trying to enter/exit a stock position. Alternatively, if delta-hedgers are net short ATM options (have a “negative gamma” position), their hedging activity could exacerbate stock price moves.

What that means it expiration-related trades may cause trading activity to aggressively pick up for stocks with a significant amount of ATM open interest.

So to help traders looking to hop on for daytrading opportunities, here is a table identifying possible focus stocks with large ATM open interest expiring today, which is compared to the average daily volume of the underlying stocks. As Goldman puts it, \"expiration-related activity is likely to have more of an impact if the open interest represents a significant percentage of the stock’s volume.\"

Finally, for what it's worth, this morning our friends at SpotGamma write that this has been a rather strange OPEX cycle, \"with a consistent almost mechanical bid pushing markets higher. We’ve not seen the Call Wall “breached” this many times before, but there are other aberrations that we’ve mentioned in previous notes – like net put sales. We’ve got some theories on this we are posting in a longer form piece.\"

According to SG, because implied volatility has now compressed (ie VIX at new lows) there is now more potential for “long term” volatility. Recall how as of late any sharp, violent drop in markets was bought so quickly (see chart below). These bursts lower coincided with record VIX spikes, but a reflective snap-back bid would bring a market recovery of equal force as the VIX (i.e. implied volatility) reversed.

And one other curious observation from SpotGamma:

When implied volatility is very high, its very sensitive to market moves and also signaling that markets are expecting more large moves ahead. As soon as markets would pause or catch a support level, that implied volatility would quickly reverse lower. We often think of this analogy that if a shark stops swimming, it sinks ( partially true!). If the market stops dropping then Implied volatility sinks.

With this, as we often talk about, lower implied volatility (ie lower VIX) signals market makers have to buy back short hedges which fuels rallies. It's why, even though we are enjoying a beautiful spring week, Goldman notes that single stock options trading activity is elevated relative to historical levels. To wit, daily options volumes are up 70% in April, up from YTD lows of $2.4bn on 30-Mar.In total, across single stocks, $544BN of options are set to expiry today, including $305BN calls. As such, today’s expiry could be important for stocks with large open interest in at-the-money(ATM) options, as market makers delta-hedging their unusually large options portfolios will be active. This flow is likely to dampen volatility in some names while exacerbating stock price moves in others. How to trade this?As Goldman's Vishal Vivek writes, at major expirations, options traders track situations wherea large amount of open interest is set to expire. As Goldman puts it, \"expiration-related activity is likely to have more of an impact if the open interest represents a significant percentage of the stock’s volume.\"Finally, for what it's worth, this morning our friends at SpotGamma write that this has been a rather strange OPEX cycle, \"with a consistent almost mechanical bid pushing markets higher. We’ve not seen the Call Wall “breached” this many times before, but there are other aberrations that we’ve mentioned in previous notes – like net put sales. We’ve got some theories on this we are posting in a longer form piece.\"According to SG, because implied volatility has now compressed (ie VIX at new lows) there is now more potential for “long term” volatility. Recall how as of late any sharp, violent drop in markets was bought so quickly (see chart below). These bursts lower coincided with record VIX spikes, but a reflective snap-back bid would bring a market recovery of equal force as the VIX (i.e. implied volatility) reversed. And one other curious observation from SpotGamma:When implied volatility is very high, its very sensitive to market moves and also signaling that markets are expecting more large moves ahead. SG's conclusion: this current level of lower implied volatility now gives the market more downside firepower. Starting with a lower implied volatility “slows down” that responsive “snap-back” buying mechanism. Additionally, gamma is higher when IV is lower so gamma flips may have more juice.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"SPY":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":374,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":370874899,"gmtCreate":1618578081311,"gmtModify":1631888969167,"author":{"id":"3578184198505037","authorId":"3578184198505037","name":"faeriewoods","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04104cc9ab397d96e0eeee3c1023d9ad","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578184198505037","authorIdStr":"3578184198505037"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a stocks hovered near their record levels on Monday as dull trading resumed before the release of widely-watched inflation data and the start of first-quarter corporate earnings. The S&P 500 dipped less than 1 point to 4,127.99 after closing at a record high in the previous session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 55.20 points, or 0.2%, to 33,745.40, also falling from a record high. Intel was the biggest decliner in the blue-chip Dow, dropping more than 4%. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4% to 13,850.00.Wall Street has been relatively quiet with the S&P 500 moving within 1% for five sessions in a row. Market volatility has declined to pre-pandemic levels amid rising reopening optimism. The Cboe Volatility Index, AKA the VIX or the market’s fear gauge, has traded below 18 for the past four days, a level unseen since February 2020.Shares of Nuance Communications jumped nearly 16% after Microsoft announced it will buy the speech recognition company in a $16 billion deal. The Nuance acquisition represents Microsoft’s largest acquisition since it bought LinkedIn for more than $26 billion in 2016.Nvidia jumped 5.6% after the chip giant said it first quarter revenue for fiscal 2022 is tracking above its previously provided outlook and that it expects demand to continue to exceed supply for much of this year.Nvidia plans new chip to compete with intel in data-center market. The weakness in reopening plays weighed on the overall market with shares of Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Line off more than 4% each. United Airlines fell 3.9% after the carrier said its first-quarter revenue is expected to fall 66% compared with the same period in 2019. The new guidance fell near the top of the range between 65% and 70% that the company had previously forecast.“Amid new highs it’s not surprising for the market to be moving somewhat in a holding pattern of late,” said Chris Larkin, managing director of trading and investing product at E-Trade. “All eyes will likely be on the CPI read tomorrow for a benchmark on where we stand on the inflation front. And of course we’re ushering in earnings season which could be a catalyst for market moves over the next few weeks.”The first-quarter earnings reporting season begins this week, with expectations set for broadly positive news and an uptrend for U.S. equities thanks to a recovering economy. Many of the nation’s largest banks, including Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase will this week report results for the three months ended March 31.This week is also packed with Federal Reserve speeches and key economic data including a hotly anticipated inflation readingTuesday, when the U.S. consumer price index is released. Economists polled by Dow Jones anticipate a 0.5% gain in CPI month over month and a 2.5% increase from last year’s level.Tesla gained 3.7% to above $700 Monday after Canaccord Genuity upgraded the stock to buy and raised its price target to $1,071, citing its battery innovations.Fed Chairman Jerome Powell on Sunday reiterated that the Fed wants to see inflation rise above its 2% for an extended period before officials move to raise interest rates.“We want to see inflation move up to 2% — and we mean that on a sustainable basis, we don’t mean just tap the base once,” Powell said in an interview that aired Sunday evening on CBS News’ “60 Minutes.” “But then we’d also like to see it on track to move moderately above 2% for some time.”He added that amid an accelerated Covid-19 vaccine rollout and strong fiscal support, the U.S. economy appears to be at a turning point.Powell will also speak Wednesday at an Economic Club of Washington event.Investors will also keep an eye on President Joe Biden’s effort to advance a major infrastructure proposal known as the American Jobs Plan. Biden, who with other Democrats promised significant an infrastructure overhaul in the 2020 elections, wil lmeet with a bipartisan group of lawmakers on Monday to try to persuade Capitol Hill to back the $2 trillion package.Congress will return to Washington this week and be in session for the first time since Biden debuted his proposal, which earmarks hundreds of billions of dollars for roads, bridges, airports, broadband, electric vehicles, housing and job training. The president’s plan would also increase the corporate tax rate to 28% and crack down on other overseas tax avoidance strategies.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"INTC":0.9,"MSFT":0.9,"NUAN":0.9,"NVDA":0.9,"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":765,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":342612428,"gmtCreate":1618209305264,"gmtModify":1634294411703,"author":{"id":"3578184198505037","authorId":"3578184198505037","name":"faeriewoods","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04104cc9ab397d96e0eeee3c1023d9ad","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578184198505037","authorIdStr":"3578184198505037"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"😵","listText":"😵","text":"😵","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/342612428","repostId":"342890542","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":342890542,"gmtCreate":1618195126286,"gmtModify":1631885601466,"author":{"id":"3553398469738690","authorId":"3553398469738690","name":"Sufiknight","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15e40690d5aba75f7d0bfb1c31e35254","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3553398469738690","authorIdStr":"3553398469738690"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD(C6L.SI)$BB is tightening. It will raise funds for its future investment from external investors when needed, Mr Eng said, adding that he doesn't rule out the possibility of a listing.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"00662":0.9,"HCSG":0.9,"HR":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1235,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":345165717,"gmtCreate":1618289119739,"gmtModify":1634293918280,"author":{"id":"3578184198505037","authorId":"3578184198505037","name":"faeriewoods","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04104cc9ab397d96e0eeee3c1023d9ad","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578184198505037","authorIdStr":"3578184198505037"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/345165717","repostId":"1146450605","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1146450605","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1618271053,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1146450605?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-13 07:44","market":"us","language":"en","title":"S&P 500 closes flat near record high in another muted session ahead of key inflation data","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1146450605","media":"CNBC","summary":"U.S. stocks hovered near their record levels on Monday as dull trading resumed before the release of","content":"
\n
U.S. stocks hovered near their record levels on Monday as dull trading resumed before the release of widely-watched inflation data and the start of first-quarter corporate earnings. The S&P 500 dipped ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 55.20 points, or 0.2%, to 33,745.40, also falling from a record high. The president’s plan would also increase the corporate tax rate to 28% and crack down on other overseas tax avoidance strategies.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"INTC":0.9,"MSFT":0.9,"NUAN":0.9,"NVDA":0.9,"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":765,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":346896245,"gmtCreate":1618019202687,"gmtModify":1634295211850,"author":{"id":"3578184198505037","authorId":"3578184198505037","name":"faeriewoods","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/04104cc9ab397d96e0eeee3c1023d9ad","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578184198505037","authorIdStr":"3578184198505037"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"So If market makers or other options traders who delta-hedge their positions are net long ATM options, expiration-related flow could have the effect of dampening stock price movements, causing the stock price to settle near the strike with large open interest.
