Both companies are also called to allow app developers to explicitly advertise within apps, so that consumers can subscribe and make purchases outside of the App Store or the Google Play Store, he added.</p>\n<p>This will help avoiding the 30% take rate on in-app purchases, the analyst said.</p>\n<p>The proposed bill will have to be approved by the House and Senate before becoming law, Munster said.</p>\n<p><b>Regulation Not Automatically Negative: </b> The end result of regulation is not automatically negative for big tech, given unintended consequences often occur when incentives change, Munster said.</p>\n<p>Even if Apple buckles under pressure and reduces its take rate from 30% to 10% - a possibility which is unlikely – it could still make more money ultimately, the analyst said. A reduction in fees will likely spur greater growth in the app development ecosystem, he added.</p>\n<p>Apple and Google, according to the analyst, have the stronger case, given they created their mobile app stores and are responsible for maintaining them, the analyst said. They, therefore, should have control over how things are curated and distributed within the stores, he added.</p>\n<p>Additionally, opening the iPhone to third-party app stores, the analyst said, will weaken security and privacy, thereby harming consumers.</p>\n<p><b>Munster's Take On Potential Regulation: </b> The likelihood of radical regulation as low, Munster said. quarter.</p>\n<p>The pandemic-driven shift to remote work has boosted consumer appetite for cloud-based computing, helping companies including Microsoft, Amazon.com Inc’s cloud unit and Alphabet Inc’s Google Cloud.</p>\n<p>Revenue in its “Intelligent Cloud” segment rose 30% to $17.4 billion, with 51% growth in its Azure cloud-computing business, in the fourth quarter ended June 30. Analysts had expected 43.1% growth in Azure, according to consensus data from Visible Alpha.</p>\n<p>“It’s a very impressive report from Microsoft with the company easily surpassing expectations on the performance of almost all business units,” said Haris Anwar, senior analyst at Investing.com.</p>\n<p>He noted Azure’s growth and strong demand for the company’s legacy Office and software products.</p>\n<p>“That said, Microsoft’s stock has made a big run since the beginning of the pandemic, and is trading at rich multiples,” Anwar said. “After such a powerful rally, its shares may take a breather, especially when investors are still unclear how the demand scenario will evolve in the post-pandemic environment.”</p>\n<p>Microsoft’s market capitalization stands at nearly $2.2 trillion, fueling concerns among some analysts that it may be overvalued. Morgan’s Samik Chatterjee. The analyst recently told investors Apple is well set up to outperform in 2H21. In fact, the growing confidence means Chatterjee has added Apple to the firm’s Analyst Focus List as “a Growth idea.”\n“The recent momentum led by better market share, drives us to also estimate higher sustainable volumes in future quarters, leading us to see a path to Apple outperforming investor expectations over a longer time horizon rather than just the upcoming earnings print,” the 5-star analyst said, confirming Apple is also a Top Pick.\nTo reflect the increase in build rates, Chatterjee has “modestly” increased iPhone volume expectations, but of more importance to the analyst is the “path to upside” for the shares in the medium-term.\nThis is because of the potential for better iPhone 12 sales but also due to what Chatterjee considers are low expectations from the iPhone 13’s fall launch, which could create “another leg to the upside opportunity.”\nIt’s a potent mix which is given additional allure with the launch of the iPhone SE3 next year and means Apple can “not only pleasantly surprise with a more robust iPhone 13 cycle, but also has the opportunity to drive material upside to consensus expectations for FY22.”\nTo this end, Chatterjee rates Apple shares an Overweight (i.e. Buy), while slightly lifting the price target from $170 to $175. I'd put artificial intelligence (AI), e-commerce, self-driving cars, streaming TV, and telehealth on the list, for sure.&nbsp;<b>Amazon.com</b>(NASDAQ:AMZN)is targeting each of these areas.</p>\n<p>\"Targeting\" is really too weak of a word to use with respect to Amazon's e-commerce business. The company reigns as the 800-pound gorilla in e-commerce with online sales of $52.9 billion in the first quarter, up 41% year over year. But e-commerce comprised only 13.4% of total U.S. retail sales in Q1, giving Amazon plenty of opportunities for growth.</p>\n<p>Amazon's most obvious AI product is its Alexa virtual assistant. However, the company is probably making the most impact on AI adoption with its Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud hosting unit. Nearly 90% of AI deep learning projects on the cloud are hosted on AWS.</p>\n<p>Perhaps the best reason to invest in Amazon is that it has a wide range of growth opportunities. One that I'm especially watching closely is the company's move into healthcare. Amazon has already launched an online pharmacy and is ina good position to become a leader in telehealthwith its new Amazon Care service.</p>\n<p><b>Brookfield Renewable</b></p>\n<p>Another unstoppable trend that could make long-term investors a lot of money is the increased use of renewable energy sources. Countries across the world have established ambitious goals for reducing carbon emissions. So have major corporations (including Amazon).&nbsp;<b>Brookfield Renewable</b>(NYSE:BEP)(NYSE:BEPC)stands out as one of the bestrenewable energy stocksto buy.</p>\n<p>Brookfield Renewable operates nearly 6,000 power generation facilities across four continents with a combined capacity of roughly 21,000 megawatts. Around 62% of the company's capacity comes from hydroelectric power, but Brookfield Renewable is increasing its wind and solar portfolio.</p>\n<p>The company thinks it can deliver annual total returns of close to 15% over the long term. That goal seems attainable considering that Brookfield Renewable has achieved an 18% average annual total return over the last two decades and has a development pipeline that could more than double its current capacity.</p>\n<p>Brookfield Renewable also offers something that neither AMC nor Amazon do -- a strong dividend. Its dividend yield currently stands at close to 3%. The company has increased its distribution by a compound annual growth rate of 6% since 2000.</p>\n<p><b>Intuitive Surgical</b></p>\n<p>There's another unstoppable trend that you probably don't think about very much. The use of robotic surgical systems continues to grow.&nbsp;<b>Intuitive Surgical</b>(NASDAQ:ISRG)is the indisputable leader in this market.</p>\n<p>Like AMC, Intuitive Surgical faced headwinds from the COVID-19 pandemic although its challenges weren't nearly as great as those of the theater chain. The good news for Intuitive is that procedure volumes continue to rebound strongly.</p>\n<p>Just how much can Intuitive grow? The company estimates that around 6 million procedures are performed annually where it already has products and regulatory clearances. In 2020, Intuitive's robotic systems were used in a little over 1.2 million procedures.</p>\n<p>Even better, Intuitive Surgical continues to introduce new products that expand the types of procedures for which robotic assistance can be used. Close to 20 million soft tissue surgeries are performed each year. I'd put artificial intelligence (AI), e-commerce, self-driving cars, streaming TV, and telehealth on the list, for sure. Amazon.com(NASDAQ:AMZN)is targeting each of these areas.\n\"Targeting\" is really too weak of a word to use with respect to Amazon's e-commerce business. The company reigns as the 800-pound gorilla in e-commerce with online sales of $52.9 billion in the first quarter, up 41% year over year. But e-commerce comprised only 13.4% of total U.S. retail sales in Q1, giving Amazon plenty of opportunities for growth.\nAmazon's most obvious AI product is its Alexa virtual assistant. Countries across the world have established ambitious goals for reducing carbon emissions. So have major corporations (including Amazon). Brookfield Renewable(NYSE:BEP)(NYSE:BEPC)stands out as one of the bestrenewable energy stocksto buy.\nBrookfield Renewable operates nearly 6,000 power generation facilities across four continents with a combined capacity of roughly 21,000 megawatts. Around 62% of the company's capacity comes from hydroelectric power, but Brookfield Renewable is increasing its wind and solar portfolio.\nThe company thinks it can deliver annual total returns of close to 15% over the long term. That goal seems attainable considering that Brookfield Renewable has achieved an 18% average annual total return over the last two decades and has a development pipeline that could more than double its current capacity.\nBrookfield Renewable also offers something that neither AMC nor Amazon do -- a strong dividend. Its dividend yield currently stands at close to 3%. The company has increased its distribution by a compound annual growth rate of 6% since 2000.\nIntuitive Surgical\nThere's another unstoppable trend that you probably don't think about very much. The use of robotic surgical systems continues to grow. Intuitive Surgical(NASDAQ:ISRG)is the indisputable leader in this market.\nLike AMC, Intuitive Surgical faced headwinds from the COVID-19 pandemic although its challenges weren't nearly as great as those of the theater chain. The self-appointed “Technoking” of Tesla&nbsp;has been mostly using his massive social media following to pump up the price of doge,&nbsp;tweeting back on April 1&nbsp;that he would use his SpaceX rockets to put a physical Doge coin on the literal moon, echoing the social media goal of taking the coin’s price “to the moon.”</p><p>Beesetti said that she first got involved in dogecoin — she also invests in technology stocks and exchange-traded funds — at the prompting of Musk’s social-media missives from last summer.</p><p>She bought dogecoin when it was trading at 3/10ths of a penny and she kept dollar-cost averaging her position in the digital asset created in 2013 even as it hit around 1 cent last August.</p><p>Musk has become a rallying point for dogecoin holders on sites like Reddit and his coming appearance on “SNL” is a hotly anticipated moment inside and outside crypto markets, which had largely been centered on bitcoin&nbsp;and Ethereum&nbsp;,the two largest cryptos in the world.</p><p>Dogecoin has long held the reputation as a joke currency in the digital-asset realm but it is hard to deny that its surging value has gripped Main Street and Wall Street’s attention — at least momentarily.</p><p>Former “SNL” cast member and comedian David Spade on Thursday tweeted that he wondered if Musk’s appearance on the sketch show would equate to a 90-minute infomercial for doge, adding, perhaps tongue in cheek that he was buying dogecoin.</p><p>Oddsmakers at betting platformSportsBettingDime.com&nbsp;have established a number of prop bets about Musk’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” including which if any crypto he mentions first on the show.</p><p>Which cryptocurrency does Musk mention first:</p><p>1. Does Not Mention Bitcoin: +400</p><p>Beesetti said that she sold about $8,000 worth of dogecoin recently to buy a pair of Gucci shoes, an iPhone and upped her position in Ether thar runs on the Ethereum protocol but has otherwise been a steady holder of doge.</p><p>The investor wouldn’t offer specific figures but said that her holdings currently range from 50,000 to 100,000 dogecoin.</p><p>Perhaps unlike some investors in doge, she is under no illusion that it has utility but submits to the possibility that momentum could build in a parody asset to such an extent that it forges its own legitimacy.</p><p>“Doge doesn’t have intrinsic value,” Beesetti said. “The value becomes real if you and a collective group of people believe in it. And in this case, there are more groups and people than before who believe.”</p><p>That said, reality could hit meme coin holders hard come Sunday morning, at least one analyst said.</p><p>“Post-SNL, some crypto traders could abandon short-term&nbsp;Dogecoin&nbsp;bets once it becomes clear that it is not skyrocketing to the moon or at the heavily eyed $1 level,” wrote Edward Moya, senior market analyst at Oanda, in a research note.</p><p>The analyst also notes that strong conviction of dogecoin investors,known as hodlers in the crypto world, could defy logic and keep prices buoyant.</p><p>“The retail-army of traders that have been committed to Doge might remain stubbornly hodlers, so we shouldn’t be surprised if a sell the event reaction does not happen,” the Oanda strategist said.</p><p>How it all plays out for dogecoin is anyone’s guess.</p><p>“It’s just a meme currency but sometimes the most entertaining outcome becomes the reality,” Beesetti said.</p><p>That meme currency has enjoyed a spectacular ride compared against most other assets.
