In March 2008, it spun off its international cigarette business to shareholders. Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) is a U.S.-based integrated oil and gas company, with worldwide operations in exploration and production, refining and marketing, transportation and petrochemicals. The company sports a sizable dividend and has a solid place in the sector when it comes to natural gas and liquefied natural gas.</p>\n<p>With the strongest financial base of the majors, coupled with an attractive relative asset base, many on Wall Street feel that Chevron offers the most straightforwardly positive risk/reward. Although current conditions do not warrant a large focus on production growth, Chevron possesses numerous medium-term drivers (<a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/NBL\">Noble</a> integration, Permian, TCO/WPMP expansion, Gulf of Mexico exploration, Vaca Muerta, and so on) that should support production levels in the coming years.</p>\n<p><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/IBM\">IBM</a></p>\n<p>This old-school tech giant still offers investors a very solid entry point. Analysts have cited the company’s potential in the public cloud as a reason for their positive outlook going forward.</p>\n<p>CEO Ginni Rommety, who had been in the position since 2012, stepped down in January, and the stock market greeted the news in a very positive manner. Arvind Krishna, who has led the company’s cloud computing business, became the new chief executive. Rometty will remain as executive board chair until the end of the year.</p>\n<p>Holders of IBM stock receive a 4.69% dividend. The $175 BofA Securities price target is well above the $144.14 consensus figure. (NYSE: LYB) manufactures chemicals and polymers, refines crude oil, produces gasoline blending components and develops and licenses technologies for production of polymers.</p>\n<p>Over half of earnings are generated in the company’s Olefins and Polyolefins Americas segment, where costs are linked to the price of cheap natural gas in the <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/UBNK\">United</a> States, while selling prices are correlated with the price of oil. The company has pursued a strategy of low-cost, high return on invested capital debottlenecks coupled with cash returns to shareholders.</p>\n<p>Note that debottlenecking is the process of identifying specific areas or equipment in oil and gas facilities that limit the flow of product (known as bottlenecks) and optimizing them so that overall capacity in the plant can be increased.</p>\n<p>The company offers a 4.50% dividend. BofA Securities has set a $117 price target. That said, there’s plenty of overhead hurdles.</p>\n<p>Specifically, Alibaba stock is struggling with the 21-week moving average, as well as the 21-month and 10-month moving averages.</p>\n<p>Let’s be clear: There are not a lot of bullish technical components here. If Alibaba stock could hold the 10-week moving average on this week’s dip, I’d feel better about it.</p>\n<p>However, as long as it can hold up over the $210 level and really, the 200-week moving average, I feel okay about Alibaba going into the next six months.</p>\n<p>A push over $235 - thus putting it over all of the moving average hurdles mentioned above - could open up a run to $250, then $263. The stock is trading at nearly eight times higher than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.</p>\n<p>Clover Health Investments</p>\n<p>Only a few days ago, it looked like&nbsp;<b>Clover Health Investments</b>(NASDAQ:CLOV)might push AMC to the side as the hottest meme stock. Retail investors viewed Clover as a primeshort squeezecandidate.</p>\n<p>Since the beginning of June, shares of Clover Health have jumped more than 65%. Analysts, however, don't expect those gains to last. The average price target for the stock is 25% below the current share price.</p>\n<p>Clover Health's valuation does seem to have gotten out of hand. The healthcare stock currently trades at more than 170 times trailing-12-month sales. That's a nosebleed level, especially considering that the company is the subject of investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.</p>\n<p>Still, Clover Health could deliver improving financial results this year. The company hopes to significantly increase its membership by targeting the original Medicare program. This represents a major new market opportunity in addition to its current Medicare Advantage business.</p>\n<p>Sundial Growers</p>\n<p>At one point earlier this year,&nbsp;<b>Sundial Growers</b>(NASDAQ:SNDL)appeared to be a legitimate contender to become the biggest winner among meme stocks. The Canadian marijuana stock vaulted more than 520% higher year to date before giving up much of its gains. However, Sundial's share price has still more than doubled in 2021.</p>\n<p>Analysts anticipate that the pot stock could fall even further. The consensus price target for Sundial reflects a 23% discount to its current share price. One analyst even thinks the stock could sink 55%.</p>\n<p>There certainly are reasons to be pessimistic about Sundial's core cannabis business. The company's net cannabis revenue fell year over year in the first quarter of 2021. Although Sundial is taking steps that it hopes will turn things around, it remains to be seen if those efforts will succeed.</p>\n<p>Sundial's business deals could give investors reasons for optimism. After all, the company posted positive adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in Q1 due to its investments.</p>\n<p>However, the cash that Sundial is using to make these investments has come at the cost of increased dilution of its stock. This was Apple’s fifth day of losses&nbsp;in the past seven trading sessions, as share price remainsstuck at late August 2020 levels.</p>\n<p>From here, investors must be asking themselves: is this a good time to buy Apple stock? The Apple Maven believes that three key metrics may help aspiring shareholders make the best decision.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ad10237664683dc4e202ae64f0c3d856\" tg-width=\"1007\" tg-height=\"470\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"><span>Figure 1: AAPL performance on May 18 session.</span></p>\n<p><b>Keep an eye on valuation</b></p>\n<p>Forward price-to-earnings, or P/E, is a popular and helpful valuation metric to track.</p>\n<p>The ratio compares the stock’s current price to the company’s expected current-year or next-year earnings per share, or EPS. It represents how many years’ worth of earnings the market is willing to pay on shares of equity. The lower the figure, the cheaper the stock, and the more appealing of a buy it is.</p>\n<p>Apple’s projected current-year EPS is $5.20, suggesting a forward P/E of exactly 24 times at the current stock price of nearly $125. This is the lowest multiple at which Apple stock has been valued compared to 30, 60, 90 days ago and this time last year. See chart below.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/51f2c0c8a7b3727ca797e4611a027eb8\" tg-width=\"1200\" tg-height=\"722\"><span>Figure 2: AAPL forward P/E today vs. past.</span></p>\n<p>In addition, AAPL’s P/E premium above the S&amp;P 500’s comparable ratio (orange dots above) is also currently about as low as it has been in the past 12 months: 3 turns higher than the broad market today vs. more than 7 turns one quarter ago and around 3.3 turns in May 2020.</p>\n<p>Based on P/E alone, therefore, Apple stock is looking particularly attractive at current levels compared to its own 12-month history and the S&amp;P 500.</p>\n<p><b>Updates to EPS growth</b></p>\n<p>A close cousin to P/E, another metric that could signal a buy of Apple stock is the company’s projected earnings growth trends. Even so, growth rates have been trending in the right direction: currently at 13.4% annualized through fiscal 2025 vs. around 11% as of the beginning of 2021.</p>\n<p>Should earnings growth expectations continue to rise, this could be yet another indication that Apple stock might be worth owning at current prices, as the business fundamentals continue to improve.</p>\n<p><b>Will shares trend again?</b></p>\n<p>The third and final metric that might be worth monitoring are the stock’s moving averages. These are indicators that technical analysts (also known as chart readers) like to track to determine things like support, breakout patterns, etc.</p>\n<p>At a high level, the following interpretations of moving averages tend to be consensus among analysts:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A stock that breaks through the averages on the way up is usually believed to be trending in a bullish manner.
