Jerome Powell said the central bank was still a ways away from considering raising interest rates.
\n
Keeping the market in check, shares of tech giant Apple Inc fell 1.2% after it forecast slowing revenue growth.
\n
In a news conference following the release of a new policy statement from the Fed, Powell also said the U.S. job market still had “some ground to cover” before it would be time to pull back from the economic support the U.S. central bank put in place in the spring of 2020 to battle the coronavirus pandemic’s economic shocks.
\n
“It looks like probably the most positive thing for the market was that they are nowhere near increasing interest rates,” said Alan Lancz, president, Alan B. Lancz & Associates Inc, an investment advisory firm based in Toledo, Ohio.
\n
Right after the Fed statement, the S&P 500 index reversed slight declines though it still ended a hair lower on the day.
\n
Investors have been worried about how rising inflation and a spike in COVID-19 cases might impact the central bank’s plan to potentially start withdrawing its stimulus.
\n
The central bank also said that higher inflation remained the result of “transitory factors.” The Fed kept its overnight benchmark interest rate near zero and left unchanged its bond-buying program.
\n
The Nasdaq ended higher and shares of Google parent Alphabet Inc hit an all-time high as a surge in advertising spending helped it post record quarterly results. The stock ended up 3.2%.
\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 127.59 points, or 0.36%, to 34,930.93, the S&P 500 lost 0.82 point, or 0.02%, to 4,400.64 and the Nasdaq Composite added 102.01 points, or 0.7%, to 14,762.58.
\n
The Fed’s statement came at the conclusion of its latest two-day policy meeting.
\n
“They had a chance to signal they were going to become more hawkish and they chose not to take it. The most important thing is they are predictable and they are remaining predictable,” said Ellen Hazen, portfolio manager at F.L. Putnam Investment Management in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
\n
In other earnings news, Microsoft Corp ended down 0.1% even as a boom in cloud services helped it beat Wall Street expectations for revenue and earnings.
\n
Volume on U.S. exchanges was 9.86 billion shares, compared with a similar average for the full session over the last 20 trading days.
\n
Advancing issues outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by a 1.85-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 2.61-to-1 ratio favored advancers.
\n
The S&P 500 posted 42 new 52-week highs and no new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 44 new highs and 67 new lows.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Lancz & Associates Inc, an investment advisory firm based in Toledo, Ohio.\nRight after the Fed statement, the S&P 500 index reversed slight declines though it still ended a hair lower on the day.\nInvestors have been worried about how rising inflation and a spike in COVID-19 cases might impact the central bank’s plan to potentially start withdrawing its stimulus.\nThe central bank also said that higher inflation remained the result of “transitory factors.” The Fed kept its overnight benchmark interest rate near zero and left unchanged its bond-buying program.\nThe Nasdaq ended higher and shares of Google parent Alphabet Inc hit an all-time high as a surge in advertising spending helped it post record quarterly results. The stock ended up 3.2%.\nThe Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 127.59 points, or 0.36%, to 34,930.93, the S&P 500 lost 0.82 point, or 0.02%, to 4,400.64 and the Nasdaq Composite added 102.01 points, or 0.7%, to 14,762.58.\nThe Fed’s statement came at the conclusion of its latest two-day policy meeting.\n“They had a chance to signal they were going to become more hawkish and they chose not to take it. The most important thing is they are predictable and they are remaining predictable,” said Ellen Hazen, portfolio manager at F.L. Putnam Investment Management in Wellesley, Massachusetts.\nIn other earnings news, Microsoft Corp ended down 0.1% even as a boom in cloud services helped it beat Wall Street expectations for revenue and earnings.\nVolume on U.S. exchanges was 9.86 billion shares, compared with a similar average for the full session over the last 20 trading days.\nAdvancing issues outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by a 1.85-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 2.61-to-1 ratio favored advancers.\nThe S&P 500 posted 42 new 52-week highs and no new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 44 new highs and 67 new lows.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"161125":0.9,".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"ESmain":0.9,"IVV":0.9,"OEF":0.9,"OEX":0.9,"SDS":0.9,"SH":0.9,"SPXU":0.9,"SPY":0.9,"SSO":0.9,"UPRO":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":287,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":803178428,"gmtCreate":1627429949364,"gmtModify":1633765143115,"author":{"id":"3583895118447399","authorId":"3583895118447399","name":"lkt","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583895118447399","authorIdStr":"3583895118447399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great","listText":"Great","text":"Great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/803178428","repostId":"1180374779","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1180374779","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1627429671,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1180374779?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-07-28 07:47","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Starbucks forecasts steamy sales despite pressure in China","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1180374779","media":"Reuters","summary":"Starbucks Corp forecast fourth-quarter sales above Wall Street estimates on Tuesday despite headwind","content":"
Starbucks Corp forecast fourth-quarter sales above Wall Street estimates on Tuesday despite headwinds in China as travel restrictions related to COVID-19 loom longer than expected.
\n
The coffee chain forecast comparable sales for its current quarter to grow 18% to 21%, expecting strength in the Americas. Analysts had expected 43.1% growth in Azure, according to consensus data from Visible Alpha.
\n
“It’s a very impressive report from Microsoft with the company easily surpassing expectations on the performance of almost all business units,” said Haris Anwar, senior analyst at Investing.com.
\n
He noted Azure’s growth and strong demand for the company’s legacy Office and software products.
\n
“That said, Microsoft’s stock has made a big run since the beginning of the pandemic, and is trading at rich multiples,” Anwar said. “After such a powerful rally, its shares may take a breather, especially when investors are still unclear how the demand scenario will evolve in the post-pandemic environment.”
\n
Microsoft’s market capitalization stands at nearly $2.2 trillion, fueling concerns among some analysts that it may be overvalued. The stock has climbed nearly 30% so far this year, compared with 18% for the overall S&P 500 Index, according to Refinitiv Eikon data based on Monday’s closing price.
\n
Revenue from personal computing, which includes Windows software and Xbox gaming consoles, rose 9% to $14.1 billion.
\n
But Xbox content and services revenue dipped, suggesting that a pandemic-fueled gaming boom is beginning to wane, said Paolo Pescatore, an analyst at PP Foresight. Analysts had expected 43.1% growth in Azure, according to consensus data from Visible Alpha.\n“It’s a very impressive report from Microsoft with the company easily surpassing expectations on the performance of almost all business units,” said Haris Anwar, senior analyst at Investing.com.\nHe noted Azure’s growth and strong demand for the company’s legacy Office and software products.\n“That said, Microsoft’s stock has made a big run since the beginning of the pandemic, and is trading at rich multiples,” Anwar said. “After such a powerful rally, its shares may take a breather, especially when investors are still unclear how the demand scenario will evolve in the post-pandemic environment.”\nMicrosoft’s market capitalization stands at nearly $2.2 trillion, fueling concerns among some analysts that it may be overvalued. The stock has climbed nearly 30% so far this year, compared with 18% for the overall S&P 500 Index, according to Refinitiv Eikon data based on Monday’s closing price.\nRevenue from personal computing, which includes Windows software and Xbox gaming consoles, rose 9% to $14.1 billion.\nBut Xbox content and services revenue dipped, suggesting that a pandemic-fueled gaming boom is beginning to wane, said Paolo Pescatore, an analyst at PP Foresight. The company must strengthen its presence in the home to better compete with rivals, he added.\nSome Microsoft hardware lines were affected by a shortage of components such as chips, said Kyle Vikstrom, director of Microsoft investor relations. Makers of cars to smartphones have grappled with an unprecedented chip shortage in recent quarters.\n“We are seeing supply chain constraints that are impacting Windows OEM and Surface ... and also impacting Xbox consoles,” she said.\nThe chip shortage could also be contributing to Microsoft’s dip in Xbox content and services revenue, as constrained hardware sales lead to a weaker performance in services, said Daniel Ives of Wedbush Securities.\n“If there’s any lagging part of Microsoft, it’s the consumer piece,” he said. “I think that continues to be a work in progress.”\nRevenue rose 21% to $46.2 billion, beating analysts’ consensus estimate of $44.24 billion, according to IBES data from Refinitiv. Investors should hope it stays that way.
\n
It wasn’t quite like watching paint dry this past week, but it wasn’t that far off, either. Earnings reports were few and far between, the most prominent coming from Walt Disney (ticker: DIS) and eBay (EBAY). The economic news, including July’s consumer-price data, didn’t contain any shockers. And while the S&P 500 closed the week on a streak of four new highs, one of them was by less than a quarter of a point. The index rose 0.7%, to 4468.00, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 306.87 points, or 0.9%, to 35,515.38. The Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.1%. to 14,822.90.
\n
Exuberance this ain’t.
\n
Why Stock Prices Are Poised to Keep Rising
\n
Still, there was some action underneath the surface. Tech, particularly chip stockslikeMicron Technology(MU),Lam Research(LRCX), andApplied Materials(AMAT), took it on the chin, while banks, includingGoldman Sachs Group(GS), and industrials such asCaterpillar(CAT), soared. And theInvesco S&P 500 Equal Weightexchange-traded fund (RSP) gained 0.8% on the week, outpacing the market-cap-weighted version.
\n

\n
That suggests that the stock market is rotating once again, out of tech and other growth stocks, which had been outperforming since May, and back into stocks that benefit from the strength of the U.S. economy, says Katie Stockton, founder of Fairlead Strategies. “A lot of rotation in constituents can fuel a bull market,” she says, noting that if more stocks start winning, it’s only a matter of time before the small-cap Russell 2000 index does, too.
\n
That cyclicals have started breaking out again is impressive, particularly given the nonstop focus on the Covid-19 Delta variant. Whether it’s about states like Mississippi and Florida, or the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of a vaccine booster shot for people with compromised immune systems, renewed pandemic fears should have hit those stocks hard. That they didn’t says a lot about what investors are thinking.
\n
“If you just look at the market action this week, it’s saying the Delta variant is a public-health crisis, but not an economic crisis,” says Dave Donabedian, chief investment officer at CIBC Private Wealth US.
\n
At some point, the boredom will end, and the market will get more volatile. And the biggest risk might be that investors use the volatility to push the entire stock market higher, notes BTIG’s Julian Emanuel, treating it like one big meme stock.
\n
“[The] dramatic price action in ‘meme stocks’ both old and new raises the probability that higher volatility could result in an ‘altered reality’ exception,” he writes. “And there is only one previous exception where volatility went up and stocks continued to go up, and up, and up. Excitement. The stock market doesn’t seem to crave these things lately. Investors should hope it stays that way.\nIt wasn’t quite like watching paint dry this past week, but it wasn’t that far off, either. The Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.1%. to 14,822.90.\nExuberance this ain’t.\nWhy Stock Prices Are Poised to Keep Rising\nStill, there was some action underneath the surface. Tech, particularly chip stockslikeMicron Technology(MU),Lam Research(LRCX), andApplied Materials(AMAT), took it on the chin, while banks, includingGoldman Sachs Group(GS), and industrials such asCaterpillar(CAT), soared. And theInvesco S&P 500 Equal Weightexchange-traded fund (RSP) gained 0.8% on the week, outpacing the market-cap-weighted version.\n\nThat suggests that the stock market is rotating once again, out of tech and other growth stocks, which had been outperforming since May, and back into stocks that benefit from the strength of the U.S. economy, says Katie Stockton, founder of Fairlead Strategies. “A lot of rotation in constituents can fuel a bull market,” she says, noting that if more stocks start winning, it’s only a matter of time before the small-cap Russell 2000 index does, too.\nThat cyclicals have started breaking out again is impressive, particularly given the nonstop focus on the Covid-19 Delta variant. Whether it’s about states like Mississippi and Florida, or the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of a vaccine booster shot for people with compromised immune systems, renewed pandemic fears should have hit those stocks hard. That they didn’t says a lot about what investors are thinking.\n“If you just look at the market action this week, it’s saying the Delta variant is a public-health crisis, but not an economic crisis,” says Dave Donabedian, chief investment officer at CIBC Private Wealth US.\nAt some point, the boredom will end, and the market will get more volatile. And the biggest risk might be that investors use the volatility to push the entire stock market higher, notes BTIG’s Julian Emanuel, treating it like one big meme stock.\n“[The] dramatic price action in ‘meme stocks’ both old and new raises the probability that higher volatility could result in an ‘altered reality’ exception,” he writes. “And there is only one previous exception where volatility went up and stocks continued to go up, and up, and up. At least for a while.”\nThat, of course, was in 1999. Let’s hope we avoid the kind of excitement that followed.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":519,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":803170769,"gmtCreate":1627429848851,"gmtModify":1633765146737,"author":{"id":"3583895118447399","authorId":"3583895118447399","name":"lkt","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583895118447399","authorIdStr":"3583895118447399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Noted","listText":"Noted","text":"Noted","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":10,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/803170769","repostId":"2154991792","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":140,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":170053535,"gmtCreate":1626396772827,"gmtModify":1633927163538,"author":{"id":"3583895118447399","authorId":"3583895118447399","name":"lkt","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583895118447399","authorIdStr":"3583895118447399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Update","listText":"Update","text":"Update","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/170053535","repostId":"2151573133","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":258,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":801267348,"gmtCreate":1627519389585,"gmtModify":1633764226285,"author":{"id":"3583895118447399","authorId":"3583895118447399","name":"lkt","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583895118447399","authorIdStr":"3583895118447399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great","listText":"Great","text":"Great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/801267348","repostId":"1127264445","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1127264445","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1627514621,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1127264445?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-07-29 07:23","market":"us","language":"en","title":"S&P 500 ends off day's lows; Powell says Fed still a ways away from rate hikes","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1127264445","media":"Reuters","summary":"NEW YORK (Reuters) - The S&P 500 ended little changed on Wednesday but off its session lows after th","content":"
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The S&P 500 ended little changed on Wednesday but off its session lows after the Federal Reserve said the U.S. economic recovery remains on track and Chair Jerome Powell said the central bank was still a ways away from considering raising interest rates.
It follows a probe by the Securities and Exchange Commission into the company and public comments made by executives, including its former chairman and CEO Steve Burns.\nLordstown Motors said in a filing Thursday that it has \"received two subpoenas from the SEC for the production of documents and information, including relating to the Merger between DiamondPeak and Legacy Lordstown and pre-orders of vehicles, and we have been informed by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York that it is investigating these matters.\"\nThe company said it has \"cooperated, and will continue to cooperate, with these and any other regulatory or governmental investigations and inquiries.\"\nBurns and his CFO exited the SPAC-backed company following an internal investigation that found \"issues regarding the accuracy of certain statements\" around Lordstown's preorders, specifically the seriousness of the orders and who was making them.\nIn May, short seller Hindenburg Research claimed the company misled investors, including using \"fake\" orders to raise capital for its Endurance electric pickup. The short seller also said the pickup was years away from production. Lordstown has maintained it's on track to start making the vehicle in September.\nLordstown previously said the internal investigation found Hindenburg's report \"is, in significant respects, false and misleading.\"\nLordstown went public through a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC, in October. There's not enough cash to buy everything.\n
\n
There are a lot of theories on why stocks are going down, Jim Cramer told his Mad Money viewers Thursday, but there's only one theory that's correct. As he noted on last night's show, too often investors can't see the forest for the trees instead focusing on the economy rather than the fundamentals of supply and demand.
\n
For example, many investors are taking their cue from the bond markets, which are far bigger than stocks. They have all sorts of theories as to why bond yields are plunging.
\n
Is it because our rates are better than the rest of the world? Is it because Federal Reserve chairman Jay Powell is right and inflation is only transitory? Or is it because we're about to see a slowdown in our economy?
\n
Cramer said while he does believe that Powell is correct and inflation is transitory, none of these reasons really explain the action in bonds or in the stock market. What does explain the action, however, is supply and demand.
\n
For months now, the markets have been flooded with new offerings in the form of IPOs and SPACs, and the market has increasingly struggled to absorb them all. Eventually, as it always does, supply outstrips demand and prices plunge, just as they are now. There's simply not enough cash to buy everything.
\n
So while everyone has their theories, the truth is that employment is strong and inflation is waning. But when it comes to IPOs, the cycle has simply run its course.
\n
Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo
\n
In a special interview, Cramer welcomed back Gina Raimondo, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, for an update on the White House's economic plans to keep the economy moving forward. President Biden's latest plans include a $600 billion infrastructure package to rebuild roads, bridges and the nation's power grid, and a $3.5 trillion budget proposal that includes universal pre-kindergarten and two-year community college, among other priorities.
\n
Raimondo said there are still millions of women out of the workforce because they're struggling with childcare and elder care. That's why the latest proposals include investments in caregiving as well as universal kindergarten to give all of our children a head start on their education.
\n
Additionally, Raimondo said we need to invest more in digital literacy and digital skills for our modern world. That includes getting more girls and minorities involved in data science so they can compete on a global stage.
\n
When asked about supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic, Raimondo called out Friday's scheduled meeting at the White House, which will include the home building and construction industries, that aims to address shortages in lumber and other building supplies. If we can produce more, prices will decline, Raimondo said, and that's the goal.
\n
Bull in the Second-Hand Shop
\n
There's a new long-term bull market brewing in the secondhand marketplace, Cramer told viewers, and it's time to compare the players and pick a winner. The contenders include Poshmark (POSH) -Get Report, ThredUp (TDUP) -Get Report and RealReal (REAL) -Get Report, along with Etsy (ETSY) -Get Report, which just purchased Depop for $1.6 billion, and the king of secondhand goods, eBay (EBAY) -Get Report.
\n
For comparison, eBay is clearly the largest, with 187 million buyers around the globe. EBay is followed by Poshmark at seven million, Etsy with four million, ThredUp at 1.3 million and RealReal with just 700,000.
\n
Cramer said with 42% revenue growth, his favorite in the space is PoshMark, which appeared recently on the show. He said both eBay and Etsy remain fabulous companies as well, but Poshmark has the growth. ThredUp simply isn't that exciting at just 15% growth, he said, and RealReal is still recovering from its authenticity issues surrounding counterfeit items on its platform.
\n
Executive Decision: Corsair Gaming
\n
In his \"Executive Decision\" segment, Cramer spoke with Andy Paul, co-founder and CEO of Corsair Gaming (CRSR) -Get Report, makers of high-end gaming peripherals.
\n
Paul noted that while the number of gamers has increased between 3% to 4% every year over the past few years, gaming hardware has grown by 24%, on average, and gamers continually upgrade their equipment to the latest technologies.
\n
Paul added that if you think about gaming as a hobby or a sport, no one buys just one set of golf clubs or one set of skis. The same applies to gaming, where people start with the basics and upgrade over time.
\n
Corsair is also very active in the streaming space, making lighting and other gear gamers need to broadcast their games live to the world. Paul noted his company's first foray into gaming cameras, which provides all of the features of a DSLR in a simple webcam package.
\n
Lightning Round
\n
Here's what Jim Cramer had to say about some of the stocks that callers offered up during the \"Mad Money Lightning Round\" Thursday evening:
\n
Rio Tinto (RIO) -Get Report: \"I think Rio Tinto is a good company and I want you to hold onto it.\"
\n
QuantumScape (QS) -Get Report: \"There are other companies that claim they have better batteries and I'm starting to believe them.\"
\n
VMware (VMW) -Get Report: \"I'd rather own Dell (DELL) -Get Report than VMWare.\"
\n
Veru(VERU) -Get Report: \"They need to get into Stage III trials before we can get excited about them.\"
","source":"lsy1610613172068","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Cramer's Mad Money Recap: Why Stocks Are Going Down
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nCramer's Mad Money Recap: Why Stocks Are Going Down\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-16 08:48 GMT+8 The Street\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Jim Cramer says it's not so much about the economy as it is the simple rules of supply and demand. President Biden's latest plans include a $600 billion infrastructure package to rebuild roads, bridges and the nation's power grid, and a $3.5 trillion budget proposal that includes universal pre-kindergarten and two-year community college, among other priorities.\nRaimondo said there are still millions of women out of the workforce because they're struggling with childcare and elder care. That's why the latest proposals include investments in caregiving as well as universal kindergarten to give all of our children a head start on their education.\nAdditionally, Raimondo said we need to invest more in digital literacy and digital skills for our modern world. That includes getting more girls and minorities involved in data science so they can compete on a global stage.\nWhen asked about supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic, Raimondo called out Friday's scheduled meeting at the White House, which will include the home building and construction industries, that aims to address shortages in lumber and other building supplies. If we can produce more, prices will decline, Raimondo said, and that's the goal.\nBull in the Second-Hand Shop\nThere's a new long-term bull market brewing in the secondhand marketplace, Cramer told viewers, and it's time to compare the players and pick a winner. The contenders include Poshmark (POSH) -Get Report, ThredUp (TDUP) -Get Report and RealReal (REAL) -Get Report, along with Etsy (ETSY) -Get Report, which just purchased Depop for $1.6 billion, and the king of secondhand goods, eBay (EBAY) -Get Report.\nFor comparison, eBay is clearly the largest, with 187 million buyers around the globe. EBay is followed by Poshmark at seven million, Etsy with four million, ThredUp at 1.3 million and RealReal with just 700,000.\nCramer said with 42% revenue growth, his favorite in the space is PoshMark, which appeared recently on the show. He said both eBay and Etsy remain fabulous companies as well, but Poshmark has the growth. ThredUp simply isn't that exciting at just 15% growth, he said, and RealReal is still recovering from its authenticity issues surrounding counterfeit items on its platform.\nExecutive Decision: Corsair Gaming\nIn his \"Executive Decision\" segment, Cramer spoke with Andy Paul, co-founder and CEO of Corsair Gaming (CRSR) -Get Report, makers of high-end gaming peripherals.\nPaul noted that while the number of gamers has increased between 3% to 4% every year over the past few years, gaming hardware has grown by 24%, on average, and gamers continually upgrade their equipment to the latest technologies.\nPaul added that if you think about gaming as a hobby or a sport, no one buys just one set of golf clubs or one set of skis. The same applies to gaming, where people start with the basics and upgrade over time.\nCorsair is also very active in the streaming space, making lighting and other gear gamers need to broadcast their games live to the world. Paul noted his company's first foray into gaming cameras, which provides all of the features of a DSLR in a simple webcam package.\nLightning Round\nHere's what Jim Cramer had to say about some of the stocks that callers offered up during the \"Mad Money Lightning Round\" Thursday evening:\nRio Tinto (RIO) -Get Report: \"I think Rio Tinto is a good company and I want you to hold onto it.\"\nQuantumScape (QS) -Get Report: \"There are other companies that claim they have better batteries and I'm starting to believe them.\"\nVMware (VMW) -Get Report: \"I'd rather own Dell (DELL) -Get Report than VMWare.\"\nVeru(VERU) -Get Report: \"They need to get into Stage III trials before we can get excited about them.\"","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"SPY":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":203,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":144462078,"gmtCreate":1626310789094,"gmtModify":1633928022439,"author":{"id":"3583895118447399","authorId":"3583895118447399","name":"lkt","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583895118447399","authorIdStr":"3583895118447399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great","listText":"Great","text":"Great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/144462078","repostId":"2151548988","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":87,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":143684458,"gmtCreate":1625791927374,"gmtModify":1633937313637,"author":{"id":"3583895118447399","authorId":"3583895118447399","name":"lkt","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583895118447399","authorIdStr":"3583895118447399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Update","listText":"Update","text":"Update","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/143684458","repostId":"2150032590","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":165,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":153639568,"gmtCreate":1625020498754,"gmtModify":1633945749218,"author":{"id":"3583895118447399","authorId":"3583895118447399","name":"lkt","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583895118447399","authorIdStr":"3583895118447399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great","listText":"Great","text":"Great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/153639568","repostId":"1122418477","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1122418477","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1625008161,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1122418477?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-30 07:09","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tech stocks propel S&P 500, Nasdaq to fresh highs","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1122418477","media":"CNBC","summary":"The S&P 500 notched another record high on Tuesday amid bullish economic data but retreated toward the flat line later in the session as Wall Street continued its recent period of low volatility.The broad market index ticked up less than 0.1% to 4,291.80, good enough for its fourth-straight record close. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished with a gain of about 9 points after being up more than 100 points earlier in the session, closing at 34,292.29. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite added about 0.2% for its own record of 14,528.33.\nHomebuilder stocks moved higher after S&P Case-Shiller saidhome prices rose more than 14% in Aprilcompared to the prior year. Five U.S. cities, including Seattle, saw their largest annual increase on record. Shares of PulteGroup rose 2%.\nSemiconductor stocks gained strength later in the session, with Skyworks and Advanced Micro Devices climbing 4.5% and 2.8%, respectively. General Electric boosted the industrials sector, rising over 1% afterGoldman Sachs named the stock a top idea.\nThe market has churned out a series of record highs in recent weeks, but the gains have been relatively modest and some strategists have pointed to weak market breadth, measured by the performance of the average stock and the number of individual names making new highs, as a potential area of concern.\nOn Tuesday, there were slightly more declining stocks in the S&P 500 than those that rose during the session.\nHowever, the diminished breadth and volatility could simply be a natural pause during the summer months ahead of the busy earnings season in July, said Bill McMahon, the chief investment officer for active equity strategies at Charles Schwab Investment Management.\n\"I think people are in a little bit of a wait-and-see mode, so it's not surprising to see volatility decline and breadth worsen a tad,\" McMahon said, adding that concern about the spreading Delta variant of Covid-19 could also be weighing on stocks.\nShares of Morgan Stanley jumped more than 3% after the bank said it willdouble its quarterly dividend. The bank also announced a $12 billion stock buyback program. The announcement follows last week's stress tests by the Federal Reserve, which all 23 major banks passed. However, some other bank stocks gave up early gains and weighed on the broader indexes despite increasing their own payout plans.\nThe Conference Board's consumer confidence reading for June came in higher than expected, adding to the bullish readings about the economic recovery.\nWith the market entering the final trading days of June and the second quarter, the S&P 500 is on track to register its fifth straight month of gains. The Nasdaq is pacing for its seventh positive month in the last eight. The Dow, however, is in the red for the month, and on track to snap a four-month winning streak.\nSo far in 2021, the S&P 500 has added 14%, while the Nasdaq has added more than 12% with the Dow close behind.\nJPMorgan quantitative strategist Dubravkos Lakos-Bujas said on CNBC's \"Squawk Box\" that the market appeared to have near-term upside.\n\"The growth policy backdrop in our opinion still remains supportive for risk assets in general, certainly including equities. At the same time, the positioning is not really stretched to where we are in a problematic territory. So we do think there is still a runway. ... The summer period, the next two months, is where I think the market continues to break out,\" the strategist said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"AMD":0.9,"SWKS":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":406,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
