Yet, this didn’t stop GRAB stock from plummeting more than 20% on the day of the merger.\nSince then, investors have continued to give GRAB stock the cold shoulder, with shares falling another 16% to trade at $7.34 at the time of this writing.\nNow, before you write off an investment in Grab Holdings, consider that the company is still in the early innings and let’s consider where GRAB stock could go from here.\nWhat’s Behind Grab’s Cool Reception?\nGrab is the largest ride-hailing and delivery company in Southeast Asia, with operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam and serving more than 187 million users.\nThere are a number of plausible explanations for why GRAB stock has not been well-received by investors.\nFor starters, growth estimates for the Southeast Asian region have been lowered recently primarily due to the coronavirus pandemic. In September, the Asian Development Bank dropped its 2021 growth forecast for the region to 3.1% from 4.4% previously.\nWidespread lockdowns in the region due to recurring waves of COVID-19 have hurt demand for Grab’s ride-hailing services and weighed on revenue despite an increase in food-delivery volumes.\nGrab reported its third-quarter results on Nov. 11. Revenue fell 9% year over year to $157 million, with the company citing “a decline in mobility due to the severe lockdowns in Vietnam.” Falling revenue is obviously not something investors want to see, especially from a company that has yet to turn a profit.\nYet, the company did report a 32% year-over-year increase in gross merchandise value, with the dollar value of transactions from Grab’s services rising to $4.04 billion thanks to strength in the company’s deliveries segment.\nThere’s Reason for Optimism\nThe deal to go public through the merger with Altimeter Growth Corp. valued Grab at close to $40 billion, which as I mentioned, was a record. The fact that three weeks later GRAB stock has a market cap of about $27.5 billion tells us that perhaps things got a bit too heated. However, there is reason for optimism.\nThe ride-hailing platform has secured the backing of significant players across related industries, including DiDi Global(NYSE:DIDI),Toyota(NYSE:TM) and SoftBank’s(OTCMKTS:SFTBY) Vision Fund.\nGrab Holdings also has some positive catalysts on the horizon. For example, the company recently announced that it will be purchasing Jaya Grocer, a premium supermarket chain in Malaysia.\nThis acquisition fits nicely with the ride-hailing and delivery business model the company seeks to expand. Management refers to the model as a “superapp” focus, whereby users can access multiple services in a single, convenient location.\nThe Bottom Line on GRAB Stock\nI can’t say Grab Holdings can immediately turn things around. But its potential in the burgeoning Southeast Asian market means it remains relevant and has a long runway.\nOf the six analysts following GRAB stock, two rate it a “buy” and there are no “sell” ratings, according to The Wall Street Journal. Meanwhile, the consensus price target stands at $12.25, which represents upside of 67% from current levels.\nGRAB stock is very cheap now, so it’s hardly a dangerous speculative play. There’s a good argument to be made for investing now and hoping that the company continues to expand its footprint. Profitability should follow.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GRAB":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1802,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":691125731,"gmtCreate":1640153133435,"gmtModify":1640153133798,"author":{"id":"3585385605908328","authorId":"3585385605908328","name":"Thomas9413","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/effcfaa82ddb11a4fa57136b2a6f8351","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3585385605908328","authorIdStr":"3585385605908328"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great Who will follow?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1143095001","media":"Reuters","summary":"(Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Reserve didn't beat around the bush on Wednesday when it signaled that ","content":"
(Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Reserve didn't beat around the bush on Wednesday when it signaled that raging inflation is its biggest risk and not the potential economic damage from the fast-spreading Omicron variant.
\n
The Fed doubled the pace at which it will reduce its bond purchases, while new forecasts from policymakers signaled as many as three interest rate increases next year. Chair Jerome Powell then waxed enthusiastically about the strength of the U.S. job market.
\n
\"The economy no longer needs increasing amounts of policy support,\" Powell told a news conference. \"In my view, we are making rapid progress toward maximum employment.\"
\n
Whether any of the Fed's peers are ready to follow its lead, however, will become clear in the next 24 hours with a rapid-fire succession of meetings by the Bank of England, European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan.
\n
Of the three, however, only the BoE is likely to take more than a baby step in trimming the monumental support provided to its economy through the pandemic. That could set the stage for a choppy 2022 with a Fed determined to end its asset purchases as fast as possible and kick off interest rates soon after, while others will be more hesitant to shift so decisively in that direction.
\n
The BoE could become the first of the major central banks to raise interest rates at Thursday's policy meeting, but the United Kingdom is also where friction between Omicron and way-over-target inflation is playing out most vividly.
\n
UK daily coronavirus infections are now at their highest since the earliest days of the pandemic, forcing Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week to join with opposition lawmakers in imposing new restrictions.
\n
On the other hand, shocking data on Wednesday showed consumer price inflation at a decade-high rate and bets in financial markets on a December rate hike jumped to 60% from about a third.
\n
\"There is now the real risk of inflation becoming entrenched – especially considering the signs of second-round effects in terms of rising wages, supported by a strong labour market – but this is balanced against the threat to the economic recovery from the new Omicron variant,\" said Ellie Henderson, an economist at bank Investec.
\n
Investors and economists are not expecting anything nearly as bold this week from either the ECB or BOJ.
\n
The ECB is expected to be among the last to tighten policy, and the current unusually vibrant debate is focused on whether to dial back an exceptionally generous stimulus scheme just a notch. The caution is easy to understand. The bank has undershot its inflation target for most of the past decade, so it would rather move too late than too early, fearing that a misguided policy tweak could unravel years of work.
\n
The euro zone's recovery is also trailing others. Chair Jerome Powell then waxed enthusiastically about the strength of the U.S. job market.\n\"The economy no longer needs increasing amounts of policy support,\" Powell told a news conference. \"In my view, we are making rapid progress toward maximum employment.\"\nWhether any of the Fed's peers are ready to follow its lead, however, will become clear in the next 24 hours with a rapid-fire succession of meetings by the Bank of England, European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan.\nOf the three, however, only the BoE is likely to take more than a baby step in trimming the monumental support provided to its economy through the pandemic. That could set the stage for a choppy 2022 with a Fed determined to end its asset purchases as fast as possible and kick off interest rates soon after, while others will be more hesitant to shift so decisively in that direction.\nThe BoE could become the first of the major central banks to raise interest rates at Thursday's policy meeting, but the United Kingdom is also where friction between Omicron and way-over-target inflation is playing out most vividly.\nUK daily coronavirus infections are now at their highest since the earliest days of the pandemic, forcing Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week to join with opposition lawmakers in imposing new restrictions.\nOn the other hand, shocking data on Wednesday showed consumer price inflation at a decade-high rate and bets in financial markets on a December rate hike jumped to 60% from about a third.\n\"There is now the real risk of inflation becoming entrenched – especially considering the signs of second-round effects in terms of rising wages, supported by a strong labour market – but this is balanced against the threat to the economic recovery from the new Omicron variant,\" said Ellie Henderson, an economist at bank Investec.\nInvestors and economists are not expecting anything nearly as bold this week from either the ECB or BOJ.\nThe ECB is expected to be among the last to tighten policy, and the current unusually vibrant debate is focused on whether to dial back an exceptionally generous stimulus scheme just a notch. The caution is easy to understand. The bank has undershot its inflation target for most of the past decade, so it would rather move too late than too early, fearing that a misguided policy tweak could unravel years of work.\nThe euro zone's recovery is also trailing others. The bloc is just getting back to its pre-pandemic size and the job market could take another two years to recover. Debt levels are also at record highs, particularly in the bloc's south, so any big retreat could widen the spread between German and Italian debt, raising questions about the sustainability of these debt levels.\nGiven that the risk of moving too quick appears to far outweigh the risk of moving too slow, the ECB is likely to take only the smallest step towards removing extraordinary stimulus this week and will signal copious support, including thorough record low rates, at least through next year.\nIn Japan, the consumer-level inflation that is tearing through other parts of the globe remains largely absent. As such, only a marginal reduction in corporate asset purchases is under discussion at Friday's BOJ meeting.\nEven if the others are not hard on the Fed's heels, Powell and the Fed appear to have set the agenda for a tumultuous 2022 as central bankers chart their ways to the exits, albeit at dramatically different paces.\n\"You saw it in his congressional remarks that were more about tightening sooner than it was about worrying about the health of the global economy,\" said Vincent Reinhart, chief economist for Dreyfuss & Mellon. Preliminary results from the VAT0002 clinical trial investigating the safety and immunogenicity of the booster showed neutralizing antibodies increased 9- to 43-fold regardless of the primary vaccine received (AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech) and for all age groups tested. The booster was well tolerated, with a safety profile similar to currently approved COVID-19 vaccines. This is the most comprehensive booster trial to date to explore boosting across different vaccine technologies used for primary vaccination.
\n
The ongoing global Phase 3 trial, VAT0008, includes regular reviews by an independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB). During its last review, the DSMB identified no safety concerns and recommended the trial to continue into early 2022 to accrue more data.
\n
Regulatory authorities require Phase 3 efficacy to be demonstrated in “naive” populations, i.e. participants who have never been infected by the COVID-19 virus (seronegative). The Phase 3 trial recruited most participants in Q3 2021, coinciding with a significant increase in the number of people infected by the COVID-19 virus globally due to the Delta variant. In the first cohort of this trial, the four most-widely approved COVID-19 primary vaccines using mRNA and adenovirus vector technologies were boosted with the Sanofi/GSK protein-based adjuvanted vaccine candidate after full primary vaccination to assess its safety profile and immunogenicity.
\n
Participants in the first cohort (n=521) had previously been vaccinated with the approved dosing schedule of an authorized COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech,) or adenovirus vector vaccine (AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson,). This preliminary analysis includes data from trial participants who received one 5µg booster dose of the adjuvanted recombinant protein vaccine targeting the D614 parent virus, between four and ten months after a complete primary vaccination schedule.
\n
The trial is ongoing across sites in multiple countries, including the U.S., France, and the UK. To address the emergence of COVID-19 variants of concern, additional trial cohorts are assessing the boosting potential of monovalent and bivalent vaccine formulations also containing the Beta (B.1.351) variant. More data from this trial are expected during the first half of 2022. The Omicron variant was not circulating during the trial. Using sera from booster trial participants, testing is underway to establish the ability of the vaccine candidate to cross-neutralize against Omicron.
\n
About the Phase 3 efficacy trial (VAT0008)
\n
The primary endpoint of this ongoing Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial is the prevention of symptomatic COVID-19 in SARS-CoV-2 naïve adults, with secondary endpoints of preventing severe COVID-19 disease and infection. Stage one of the trial is assessing the efficacy of a vaccine formulation containing the spike protein against the original D614 (parent) virus in more than 10,000 participants >18 years of age, randomized to receive two doses of 10µg vaccine or placebo at day 1 and day 22 across sites in the US, Asia, Africa and Latin America. This is the most comprehensive booster trial to date to explore boosting across different vaccine technologies used for primary vaccination.\nThe ongoing global Phase 3 trial, VAT0008, includes regular reviews by an independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB). During its last review, the DSMB identified no safety concerns and recommended the trial to continue into early 2022 to accrue more data.\nRegulatory authorities require Phase 3 efficacy to be demonstrated in “naive” populations, i.e. participants who have never been infected by the COVID-19 virus (seronegative). The Phase 3 trial recruited most participants in Q3 2021, coinciding with a significant increase in the number of people infected by the COVID-19 virus globally due to the Delta variant. To provide the necessary data to regulatory authorities for the booster vaccine submission, the trial will continue to accrue the number of events needed for analysis, with results expected in Q1, 2022.\n“These preliminary data show we have a strong booster candidate, whatever primary vaccine you have received.”said Thomas Triomphe, Executive Vice President, Sanofi Pasteur.“This is consistent with our efforts to provide relevantresponses to evolving public health needs. While pursuing a phase 3 trial is a challenge in a quickly shifting pandemic environment, we look forward to seeing the results to support submissions of our booster vaccine as quickly as possible.”\nRoger Connor, President of GSK Vaccines, added: “As the pandemic threat continues with the current dominant Delta variant and Omicron rapidly gaining ground, booster vaccines will continue to be needed to help protect people over time. The initial booster data are promising, and we await the phase III results to determine the next steps on making protein-based adjuvanted COVID-19 vaccines available.\"\nIn parallel, Sanofi continues its contribution to global public health needs with the manufacturing of up to half a billion doses from BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.\nAbout the booster trial (VAT0002)\nThe VAT0002 extension trial is the most comprehensive heterologous booster trial conducted to date. In the first cohort of this trial, the four most-widely approved COVID-19 primary vaccines using mRNA and adenovirus vector technologies were boosted with the Sanofi/GSK protein-based adjuvanted vaccine candidate after full primary vaccination to assess its safety profile and immunogenicity.\nParticipants in the first cohort (n=521) had previously been vaccinated with the approved dosing schedule of an authorized COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech,) or adenovirus vector vaccine (AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson,). This preliminary analysis includes data from trial participants who received one 5µg booster dose of the adjuvanted recombinant protein vaccine targeting the D614 parent virus, between four and ten months after a complete primary vaccination schedule.\nThe trial is ongoing across sites in multiple countries, including the U.S., France, and the UK. Using sera from booster trial participants, testing is underway to establish the ability of the vaccine candidate to cross-neutralize against Omicron.\nAbout the Phase 3 efficacy trial (VAT0008)\nThe primary endpoint of this ongoing Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial is the prevention of symptomatic COVID-19 in SARS-CoV-2 naïve adults, with secondary endpoints of preventing severe COVID-19 disease and infection. A second stage in the trial is evaluating a second bivalent formulation, adding the spike protein of the B.1.351 (Beta) variant.\nThese efforts are supported by federal funds from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, part of the office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense under Contract # W15QKN-16-9-1002.\nAbout the Sanofi and GSK collaboration\nIn the collaboration between the two companies, Sanofi provides its recombinant antigen and GSK contributes its pandemic adjuvant, both established vaccine platforms that have proven successful against influenza.\nAbout GSK\nGSK is a science-led global healthcare company with a special purpose: to help people do more, feel better, live longer. GSK is the leading manufacturer of vaccines globally.\nAbout Sanofi\nSanofi is dedicated to supporting people through their health challenges. It is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on human health. It prevent illness with vaccines, provide innovative treatments to fight pain and ease suffering. We currently expect shipments outside of North America to begin in the second half of 2022.\n\nThis means that Europe would be without Model S and Model X for a year and a half.\nHere’s the email in full:\n\n Hello [redacted],\n\n\n We are contacting you regarding the timing of your Model X order. As we expand production capacity, the launch dates for markets outside of North America have been postponed. We will inform you of the delivery times through your Tesla account when production begins.\n\n\n Your Model X is getting closer to delivery. We currently expect shipments outside of North America to begin in the second half of 2022.\n\n\n In order to expedite the delivery of existing orders, including your Model X order, as much as possible, we are currently no longer accepting new orders for the Model S and Model X from markets outside of North America.\n\n\n The price of your Model X will continue to be the same as it was when you placed your order, unless your vehicle configuration has been changed. Though the regulator has recently approved ETFs with exposure to Bitcoin (BTC) futures from investment managers ProShares and Valkyrie, it has yet to give the green light for BTC or other crypto ETFs. In contrast, many U.S. companies with operations in Canada have successfully applied with local regulators for ETFs with direct exposure to crypto.\n\n\nHowever, the former OCC head suggested the lack of approval of crypto investment products was more of a result of the United States’ “fragmented approach to regulation,” given the number of bodies overseeing banks, finance and now digital assets. Brooks proposed a solution in which traditional financial institutions would be treated in much the same way as crypto.\n\n“When I hear people talk about the idea that we need one regulator for crypto, I would say we should first have one regulator for banks, but we have three of them,” said Brooks. “The last thing we need to do is add another regulator to a system that’s already got dozens of regulators.\n\n“If I’m a crypto lending platform, I should probably be regulated by the FDIC. If I’m a crypto trading platform, I should probably be regulated by the CFTC and SEC, but somehow we treat crypto, because it’s new, as different than everything else. I’m gonna argue that crypto is just a step function improvement in the system.”\nCEOs from Circle, FTX, Bitfury, Paxos, Stellar Development Foundation and Coinbase Inc. are currently fielding questions from U.S. lawmakers on the state of digital assets in the country. Cointelegraph reported earlier on Wednesday that House representatives have expressed concerns over token projects exerting centralized control over many users' assets.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"COIN":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":647,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":602940098,"gmtCreate":1638963317131,"gmtModify":1638963317381,"author":{"id":"3585385605908328","authorId":"3585385605908328","name":"Thomas9413","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/effcfaa82ddb11a4fa57136b2a6f8351","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3585385605908328","authorIdStr":"3585385605908328"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great ","listText":"Great ","text":"Great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/602940098","repostId":"1137698347","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1137698347","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1638962446,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1137698347?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-12-08 19:20","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Ford Says Nearing 200,000 F-150 Lightning Reservations, Order Bank Opening Soon","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1137698347","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Ford Motor Co told Benzinga on Tuesday its hotly-anticipated F-150 Lightning electric truck has secu","content":"
Ford Motor Co told Benzinga on Tuesday its hotly-anticipated F-150 Lightning electric truck has secured nearly 200,000 bookings and the order bank is expected to open soon.
\n
What Happened:The latest numbers are a significant jump from a month ago, when the Dearborn, Michigan-based Ford said bookings had touched 160,000 units for the electric variant of its best-selling truck.
\n
The electric version of Ford’s most profitable and popular pickup truck will go on sale in Spring at a ticket price of $39,974 and up for the base model and a range of 230 miles for the standard range.
\n
“We’re on track for customer deliveries to begin in spring 2022 and order banks will open soon,” a Ford spokesperson said.
\n
Ford will soon invite reservation holders to place the final orders. Reservations are not final orders but, hypothetically, even half of those $100 fully-refundable bookings could fetch Ford significant volumes for the Lightning.
\n
The fresh reservation numbers indicate customers would likely have to wait much longer than previously anticipated to get the deliveries, given the limited capacity at the moment.
\n
Ford had earlier said it would ramp up production for the F-150 Lightning electric truck and build 15,000 F-150s next year after the truck's spring launch, 55,000 in 2023 and eventually reach the 80,000 mark in 2024.
\n
Ford said early indications show over 70% of the latest booing numbers for the electric truck are brand new customers for the automaker.
\n
The automaker said California, Texas and Florida are among the top three states for the reservations.
\n
Why It Matters:Ford is expecting the popularity of its best-selling and the most-profitable full size pickup truck F-150 to trickle down to the electric variant as well.
\n
The F-150 alone contributed over 27% of Ford’s total production numbers of 201,353 units in the month of October, as per the company data.
\n
Ford CEO Jim Farley last week said the automaker will double electric vehicle production to 600,000 units by 2023 due to higher demand and said it aims the automaker to become the biggest electric vehicle maker in the world.
\n
F-150 Lightning will be Ford’s second fully electric model on sale after Mustang Mach-E.
\n
Price Action:Ford shares closed 3.85% higher at $19.96 a share on Tuesday.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Apple
\n
Apple only pays a forward dividend yield of 0.5%, but its lowpayout ratioof 15% indicates there's still plenty of room for much higher payments. Apple's stock price has risen nearly 270% over the past three years, but it still doesn't look terribly expensive at 29 times forward earnings.
\n
Apple is an inflation-resistant company for two simple reasons. First, it has the clout to negotiate more favorable prices from its suppliers. Second, it probably won't lose a lot of its loyal customers if it charges higher prices for its hardware since they're already firmly locked into its software ecosystem.
\n
Apple has also consistently executed big stock buybacks, which have reduced its outstanding shares by nearly 22% over the past five years. Spending more cash on those buybacks, which boosts the value of its remaining shares, is a better strategy than letting its cash stagnate in an inflationary environment.
\n
Apple will face a near-term slowdown as it grapples with supply chain constraints, but its long-term outlook is still bright. Its services ecosystem continues to expand, and it will eventually expand into new next-gen markets like augmented reality, virtual reality, and connected cars.
\n
2. Verizon
\n
Verizon pays a forward dividend yield of 5%. The telecom giant has raised that dividend annually for 15 straight years, and it's spent less than half of its earnings per share on those payments over the past 12 months. The stock also trades at just nine times forward earnings.
\n
At first glance, Verizon seems like a lackluster investment. It's declined more than 10% over the past three years as the S&P 500 has risen nearly 70%.
\n
However, Verizon's stock will likely remain stable as rising inflation and higher interest rates rattle the markets. As the largest wireless carrier in the U.S., Verizon can likely pass on most of its higher costs onto consumers without significantly increasing its churn rates. It's also a more streamlined company than AT&T, which is still trying toundo the damageof the debt-fueled expansions of its media and pay-TV ecosystems.
\n
Verizon's stable returns, sticky ecosystem, high dividend, and low valuation will all make it an ideal safe-haven stock in an inflationary market.
\n
3. Qualcomm
\n
Qualcomm, one of the world's largest mobile chipmakers, pays a forward dividend yield of 1.5%. It's raised its annual payout over the past two years, and it's only spent about a third of its earnings on its dividends over the past 12 months.
\n
Qualcomm's two main businesses are both well-insulated from inflation. Its Snapdragon system on chips (SoCs), which bundle together a mobile CPU, GPU, and baseband modem, power most of the world's high-end smartphones. They can also be found in virtual reality headsets, cars, and drones. The secular growth of those markets will give Qualcomm plenty of pricing power.
\n
Its licensing business, which leverages its portfolio of wireless patents to earn a cut of every smartphone sold worldwide, also generates a stable stream of high-margin revenue. It then plows a large portion of that excess cash into big buybacks and dividends.
\n
Qualcomm's stock has already risen more than 200% as investors have recognized those long-term strengths, but it still looks cheap at 17 times forward earnings.
\n
4. Texas Instruments
\n
Texas Instruments manufactures a wide range of analog and embedded chips for consumer electronics, cars, industrial machines, and other markets. These chips aren't as powerful as Qualcomm's mobile chips, but they're just as essential and less capital-intensive to produce.
\n
Unlike Qualcomm, which outsources the production of its chips to third-party foundries, TI manufactures its own chips in-house. That business model insulates it from the ongoing chip shortage, and its cost-cutting migration from 200mm to 300mm wafers over the past few years enabled it to significantly reduce its own manufacturing costs and boost its gross margins.
\n
TI's business is naturally resistant to inflation since it has much better control over its own supply chain and operating expenses than other chipmakers, and it generates plenty of excess cash for buybacks and dividends. It reduced its number of outstanding shares by 46% between 2004 and 2020, and it's raised its dividend annually for 18 straight years. It currently pays a forward dividend yield of 2.4%, which is supported by a sustainable payout ratio of 52%.
\n
TI's stock has more than doubled over the past three years, but it still trades at 23 times forward earnings. That's understandable, with several of them delivering triple-digit and even four-digit percentage gains.
\n
However, what goes up can come down. Analysts don't expect the online frenzy fueling the ginormous jumps for some of the most popular stocks will be sustainable. Here are three meme stocks that Wall Street thinks will plunge by more than 20% within the next 12 months.
\n
AMC Entertainment
\n
AMC Entertainment(NYSE:AMC)ranks as the best-performing meme stock of all. Shares of the movie theater operator have skyrocketed close to 2,500% year to date.
\n
The consensus among analysts, though, is that the stock could lose 90% of its current value. Even the most optimistic analyst surveyed by Refinitiv has a price target for AMC that's more than 70% below the current share price.
\n
But isn't AMC's business picking up? Yep. The easing of restrictions has enabled the company to reopen 99% of its U.S. theaters. AMC could benefit as seating capacity limitations imposed by state and local governments are raised. Thereleases of multiple movies this summerand later this year that are likely to be hits should also help.
\n
However, Wall Street clearly believes that AMC's share price has gotten way ahead of its business prospects. The stock is trading at nearly eight times higher than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.
\n
Clover Health Investments
\n
Only a few days ago, it looked like Clover Health Investments(NASDAQ:CLOV)might push AMC to the side as the hottest meme stock. Retail investors viewed Clover as a primeshort squeezecandidate.
\n
Since the beginning of June, shares of Clover Health have jumped more than 65%. Analysts, however, don't expect those gains to last. The average price target for the stock is 25% below the current share price.
\n
Clover Health's valuation does seem to have gotten out of hand. The healthcare stock currently trades at more than 170 times trailing-12-month sales. That's a nosebleed level, especially considering that the company is the subject of investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
\n
Still, Clover Health could deliver improving financial results this year. The company hopes to significantly increase its membership by targeting the original Medicare program. This represents a major new market opportunity in addition to its current Medicare Advantage business.
\n
Sundial Growers
\n
At one point earlier this year, Sundial Growers(NASDAQ:SNDL)appeared to be a legitimate contender to become the biggest winner among meme stocks. The Canadian marijuana stock vaulted more than 520% higher year to date before giving up much of its gains. However, Sundial's share price has still more than doubled in 2021.
\n
Analysts anticipate that the pot stock could fall even further. The consensus price target for Sundial reflects a 23% discount to its current share price. One analyst even thinks the stock could sink 55%.
\n
There certainly are reasons to be pessimistic about Sundial's core cannabis business. The company's net cannabis revenue fell year over year in the first quarter of 2021. Although Sundial is taking steps that it hopes will turn things around, it remains to be seen if those efforts will succeed.
\n
Sundial's business deals could give investors reasons for optimism. After all, the company posted positive adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in Q1 due to its investments.
\n
However, the cash that Sundial is using to make these investments has come at the cost of increased dilution of its stock. The company can't afford any additional dilution without having to resort to desperate measures to keep its listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Meme Stocks Wall Street Predicts Will Plunge More Than 20%
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Meme Stocks Wall Street Predicts Will Plunge More Than 20%\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-19 09:13 GMT+8 fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Meme stocks have been all the rage so far this year. Shares of the movie theater operator have skyrocketed close to 2,500% year to date.\nThe consensus among analysts, though, is that the stock could lose 90% of its current value. Even the most optimistic analyst surveyed by Refinitiv has a price target for AMC that's more than 70% below the current share price.\nBut isn't AMC's business picking up? Yep. The easing of restrictions has enabled the company to reopen 99% of its U.S. theaters. AMC could benefit as seating capacity limitations imposed by state and local governments are raised. Thereleases of multiple movies this summerand later this year that are likely to be hits should also help.\nHowever, Wall Street clearly believes that AMC's share price has gotten way ahead of its business prospects. The stock is trading at nearly eight times higher than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.\nClover Health Investments\nOnly a few days ago, it looked like Clover Health Investments(NASDAQ:CLOV)might push AMC to the side as the hottest meme stock. Retail investors viewed Clover as a primeshort squeezecandidate.\nSince the beginning of June, shares of Clover Health have jumped more than 65%. Analysts, however, don't expect those gains to last. The average price target for the stock is 25% below the current share price.\nClover Health's valuation does seem to have gotten out of hand. The healthcare stock currently trades at more than 170 times trailing-12-month sales. That's a nosebleed level, especially considering that the company is the subject of investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.\nStill, Clover Health could deliver improving financial results this year. The company hopes to significantly increase its membership by targeting the original Medicare program. This represents a major new market opportunity in addition to its current Medicare Advantage business.\nSundial Growers\nAt one point earlier this year, Sundial Growers(NASDAQ:SNDL)appeared to be a legitimate contender to become the biggest winner among meme stocks. The Canadian marijuana stock vaulted more than 520% higher year to date before giving up much of its gains. However, Sundial's share price has still more than doubled in 2021.\nAnalysts anticipate that the pot stock could fall even further. The consensus price target for Sundial reflects a 23% discount to its current share price. One analyst even thinks the stock could sink 55%.\nThere certainly are reasons to be pessimistic about Sundial's core cannabis business. The company's net cannabis revenue fell year over year in the first quarter of 2021. Although Sundial is taking steps that it hopes will turn things around, it remains to be seen if those efforts will succeed.\nSundial's business deals could give investors reasons for optimism. After all, the company posted positive adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in Q1 due to its investments.\nHowever, the cash that Sundial is using to make these investments has come at the cost of increased dilution of its stock. The company can't afford any additional dilution without having to resort to desperate measures to keep its listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMC":0.9,"CLOV":0.9,"SNDL":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":257,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":166296189,"gmtCreate":1624010090141,"gmtModify":1634024172353,"author":{"id":"3585385605908328","authorId":"3585385605908328","name":"Thomas9413","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/effcfaa82ddb11a4fa57136b2a6f8351","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3585385605908328","authorIdStr":"3585385605908328"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like and comment ","listText":"Please like and comment ","text":"Please like and comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/166296189","repostId":"1164089282","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":299,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":166296085,"gmtCreate":1624010061747,"gmtModify":1634024172591,"author":{"id":"3585385605908328","authorId":"3585385605908328","name":"Thomas9413","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/effcfaa82ddb11a4fa57136b2a6f8351","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3585385605908328","authorIdStr":"3585385605908328"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like and comment ","listText":"Please like and comment ","text":"Please like and comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/166296085","repostId":"2144786627","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":411,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":169993686,"gmtCreate":1623811226845,"gmtModify":1634027739998,"author":{"id":"3585385605908328","authorId":"3585385605908328","name":"Thomas9413","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/effcfaa82ddb11a4fa57136b2a6f8351","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3585385605908328","authorIdStr":"3585385605908328"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like and comment ","listText":"Please like and comment ","text":"Please like and comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/169993686","repostId":"1104356504","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1104356504","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1623810135,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1104356504?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-16 10:22","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Could Amazon Stock Become A Dividend Payer Soon?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1104356504","media":"TheStreet","summary":"Amazon stock does not currently offer investors dividend payments, but could it?
