Biden got most of what he wanted in this part of his proposal.”\n(PAVE is up 4% this week, bringing its year-to-date gains to 21%.)\nThe amount agreed upon “Is a large amount of money for this part of the economy,” Jacobs said.\nHow large? Jacobs says that roughly 1.5% of GDP (about $300 billion a year) is spent on public construction each year, so $579 billion (spread out over several years) is more than enough to move the needle.\n“This is going to give a big boost to companies in steel, construction, engineering, and roadbuilding,” he told me, as well as broadband expansion, which is very popular among rural (Republican) constituents.\nWhile most infrastructure stocks are off of their highs, this week has seen significant moves in those stocks:\nWork platforms, cranes:\n\nTerex up 14%\nManitowoc up 9%\n\nEquipment rental:\n\nHerc Holdings up 14%\nUnited Rentals up 10%\n\nConstruction equipment:\n\nDeere up 7%\n\nConstruction services:\n\nSummit Materials up 13%\nMRC Global up 9%\n\nMaterials/metals:\n\nAlcoa up 14%\nCentury Aluminum up 13%\nRyerson Holding up 9%\n\nSteel:\n\nCleveland Cliffs up 8%\nUS Steel up 7%\nAllegheny Technologies up 7%\n\nRoad construction\n\nGranite Construction up 11%\nMartin Marietta up 7%\nVulcan Materials up 7%\n\nEngineering:\n\nDycom Industries up 9%\nAECOM up 7%\nJacobs Engineering up 5%\n\nJacobs noted that engineering firms are particularly well-positioned to benefit from U.S. infrastructure development.\nJacobs Engineering, for example, generates 33% of all revenues from U.S. government contracts, or 44% of U.S. revenues. On its second quarter 2021 earnings call, CEO Steven Demetriou said, ”[A]s far as the U.S. infrastructure stimulus opportunity, I think we’re extremely well positioned with the organic capability we have today.”\nSmart strategy?\nJay Rhame of Reaves Asset Management, which specializes in infrastructure-related industries such as utilities, energy, and communications, said Biden was smart to split the infrastructure proposals from the American Jobs Act into two different pieces, a “hard” and “soft” infrastructure package.\n“This is what Biden ran on, that he can reach across the aisle and make a deal,” he told me. “It wasn’t worth it to hold the hard infrastructure part up over the softer infrastructure issues. Let’s put people back to work, and not get hung up over a debate on things like carbon emissions.”\nOther pieces that could qualify as “infrastructure” are also advancing. The U.S. Innovation and Competition Act passed the Senate two weeks ago, which would provide $252 billion for funding for scientific research, as well as subsidies for chipmakers and robot makers in an effort to compete with China.\nThe next part — the so-called “soft infrastructure” segment — will address clean tech, elderly care, money for schools and hospitals. That will be far more controversial, and may be the part Democrats will attempt to push through using the reconciliation process.\n“That will be the next big fight,” Rhame said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"SPY":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1070,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":122476004,"gmtCreate":1624631715008,"gmtModify":1633950280037,"author":{"id":"3569196607026906","authorId":"3569196607026906","name":"DesmondLee","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/146720d643ee09b0a408a9718d1ede85","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569196607026906","authorIdStr":"3569196607026906"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/122476004","repostId":"1150738323","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150738323","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1624627873,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1150738323?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-25 21:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"S&P 500 rises to another record, heads for its best week since April","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150738323","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":" U.S. stocks rose on Friday with the S&P 500 building on its rally to records, as investors bet that higher inflation will be temporary as the economy continues to recover.The broad equity benchmark climbed 0.2% to hit another all-time high. The Redmond, Washington-based tech giant already has six data centres in the country, operated by local partner 21Vianet, and now seeks to capitalise on a global surge in demand for internet services during the pandemic.\nA Microsoft spokesman declined to comment.\nThe rapid growth is driven by Chinese businesses, slow to digitise in years past, now migrating to the cloud. New regulations, including a sweeping set of data security edicts coming into effect in September, are also prompting domestic and foreign enterprises to shift to local data management and boosting IT spending. The cloud market in China is expected to grow to US$46 billion in 2023, according to a government white paper cited by Microsoft.\nLike Apple, Microsoft is expanding data capabilities within China in concert with a local partner, anticipating a boom in data storage and management needs. But it will be going head to head with Alibaba Group Holding and Huawei Technologies, the two domestic leaders in providing cloud infrastructure.\nMicrosoft can count on the maturity and ubiquity of its cloud services. Its Azure enterprise offering enables customers to host data and run applications in the cloud while Office 365 delivers internet-based versions of its familiar word processing, spreadsheet and collaboration programs. The company said its planned northern China expansion in 2022 would \"effectively double\" its intelligent cloud capacity in the country in the coming years.\nThe Redmond firm's commercial cloud sales in the quarter that ended March 31 rose 33 per cent to US$17.7 billion. In that same period, the company reported US$6 billion in capital expenditures and forecast it will lay out an even larger sum in the current quarter. It does not break out cloud earnings by geography.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"03086":0.9,"09086":0.9,"MSFT":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":894,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":168597861,"gmtCreate":1623978188953,"gmtModify":1634024908397,"author":{"id":"3569196607026906","authorId":"3569196607026906","name":"DesmondLee","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/146720d643ee09b0a408a9718d1ede85","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569196607026906","authorIdStr":"3569196607026906"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Oh no","listText":"Oh no","text":"Oh no","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/168597861","repostId":"2144474967","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":972,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":122476004,"gmtCreate":1624631715008,"gmtModify":1633950280037,"author":{"id":"3569196607026906","authorId":"3569196607026906","name":"DesmondLee","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/146720d643ee09b0a408a9718d1ede85","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569196607026906","authorIdStr":"3569196607026906"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/122476004","repostId":"1150738323","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150738323","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1624627873,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1150738323?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-25 21:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"S&P 500 rises to another record, heads for its best week since April","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150738323","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":" U.S. stocks rose on Friday with the S&P 500 building on its rally to records, as investors bet that higher inflation will be temporary as the economy continues to recover.The broad equity benchmark climbed 0.2% to hit another all-time high. The Redmond, Washington-based tech giant already has six data centres in the country, operated by local partner 21Vianet, and now seeks to capitalise on a global surge in demand for internet services during the pandemic.\nA Microsoft spokesman declined to comment.\nThe rapid growth is driven by Chinese businesses, slow to digitise in years past, now migrating to the cloud. New regulations, including a sweeping set of data security edicts coming into effect in September, are also prompting domestic and foreign enterprises to shift to local data management and boosting IT spending. The cloud market in China is expected to grow to US$46 billion in 2023, according to a government white paper cited by Microsoft.\nLike Apple, Microsoft is expanding data capabilities within China in concert with a local partner, anticipating a boom in data storage and management needs. But it will be going head to head with Alibaba Group Holding and Huawei Technologies, the two domestic leaders in providing cloud infrastructure.\nMicrosoft can count on the maturity and ubiquity of its cloud services. Its Azure enterprise offering enables customers to host data and run applications in the cloud while Office 365 delivers internet-based versions of its familiar word processing, spreadsheet and collaboration programs. The company said its planned northern China expansion in 2022 would \"effectively double\" its intelligent cloud capacity in the country in the coming years.\nThe Redmond firm's commercial cloud sales in the quarter that ended March 31 rose 33 per cent to US$17.7 billion. In that same period, the company reported US$6 billion in capital expenditures and forecast it will lay out an even larger sum in the current quarter. Biden got most of what he wanted in this part of his proposal.”\n(PAVE is up 4% this week, bringing its year-to-date gains to 21%.)\nThe amount agreed upon “Is a large amount of money for this part of the economy,” Jacobs said.\nHow large? Jacobs says that roughly 1.5% of GDP (about $300 billion a year) is spent on public construction each year, so $579 billion (spread out over several years) is more than enough to move the needle.\n“This is going to give a big boost to companies in steel, construction, engineering, and roadbuilding,” he told me, as well as broadband expansion, which is very popular among rural (Republican) constituents.\nWhile most infrastructure stocks are off of their highs, this week has seen significant moves in those stocks:\nWork platforms, cranes:\n\nTerex up 14%\nManitowoc up 9%\n\nEquipment rental:\n\nHerc Holdings up 14%\nUnited Rentals up 10%\n\nConstruction equipment:\n\nDeere up 7%\n\nConstruction services:\n\nSummit Materials up 13%\nMRC Global up 9%\n\nMaterials/metals:\n\nAlcoa up 14%\nCentury Aluminum up 13%\nRyerson Holding up 9%\n\nSteel:\n\nCleveland Cliffs up 8%\nUS Steel up 7%\nAllegheny Technologies up 7%\n\nRoad construction\n\nGranite Construction up 11%\nMartin Marietta up 7%\nVulcan Materials up 7%\n\nEngineering:\n\nDycom Industries up 9%\nAECOM up 7%\nJacobs Engineering up 5%\n\nJacobs noted that engineering firms are particularly well-positioned to benefit from U.S. infrastructure development.\nJacobs Engineering, for example, generates 33% of all revenues from U.S. government contracts, or 44% of U.S. revenues. On its second quarter 2021 earnings call, CEO Steven Demetriou said, ”[A]s far as the U.S. infrastructure stimulus opportunity, I think we’re extremely well positioned with the organic capability we have today.”\nSmart strategy?\nJay Rhame of Reaves Asset Management, which specializes in infrastructure-related industries such as utilities, energy, and communications, said Biden was smart to split the infrastructure proposals from the American Jobs Act into two different pieces, a “hard” and “soft” infrastructure package.\n“This is what Biden ran on, that he can reach across the aisle and make a deal,” he told me. “It wasn’t worth it to hold the hard infrastructure part up over the softer infrastructure issues. Let’s put people back to work, and not get hung up over a debate on things like carbon emissions.”\nOther pieces that could qualify as “infrastructure” are also advancing. The U.S. Innovation and Competition Act passed the Senate two weeks ago, which would provide $252 billion for funding for scientific research, as well as subsidies for chipmakers and robot makers in an effort to compete with China.\nThe next part — the so-called “soft infrastructure” segment — will address clean tech, elderly care, money for schools and hospitals. That will be far more controversial, and may be the part Democrats will attempt to push through using the reconciliation process.\n“That will be the next big fight,” Rhame said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"SPY":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1070,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":166865376,"gmtCreate":1624002688895,"gmtModify":1634024289748,"author":{"id":"3569196607026906","authorId":"3569196607026906","name":"DesmondLee","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/146720d643ee09b0a408a9718d1ede85","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569196607026906","authorIdStr":"3569196607026906"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice✌️","listText":"Nice✌️","text":"Nice✌️","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/dc07a00a18c5447f01ac23870ee81093","width":"1125","height":"2284"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/166865376","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1170,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":168597861,"gmtCreate":1623978188953,"gmtModify":1634024908397,"author":{"id":"3569196607026906","authorId":"3569196607026906","name":"DesmondLee","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/146720d643ee09b0a408a9718d1ede85","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569196607026906","authorIdStr":"3569196607026906"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Oh no","listText":"Oh no","text":"Oh no","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/168597861","repostId":"2144474967","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":972,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
