It’s the first major hawkish turn from the central bank whose deluge of stimulus has been critical to bullion’s strong performance since the start of the pandemic.\nThe central bank also released forecasts that show it anticipates two interest-rate increases by the end of 2023 -- sooner than many thought -- which helped boost the dollar and U.S. bond yields, hurting gold. Bullion, which declined the most in five months on Wednesday, broke through a number of key technical support levels, including falling below its 100-day moving average.\n“We have a negative outlook, expecting gold to fall to $1,600 an ounce over the next six to 12 months,” said Giovanni Staunovo, an analyst at UBS Group AG. “At some point the Fed will not talk about taper but also implement it.”\nSpot gold declined 1.7% to $1,780.97 an ounce as of 2:07 p.m. in London, after earlier dropping to $1,776.08, the lowest intraday level since May 5. Silver, platinum and palladium also declined. The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index gained 0.5% after rising 0.9% on Wednesday.\nBullion fell as investors weigh the outcome of the Fed’s two-day gathering. Despite the hawkish pivot, Powell said the interest-rate forecasts “should be taken with a big grain of salt,” and cautioned that discussions about raising rates would be “highly premature.” The central bank also upped its inflation forecasts, though Powell continued to insist price pressures would prove transitory.\n“Once again the million dollar question is whether inflation will be a passing phenomenon or longer lasting?” Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank A/S, said in a note. “For now the market trusts the judgement of the Federal Reserve and until data potentially proves them wrong, gold and with that also silver may face another challenging period.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3382,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":161426374,"gmtCreate":1623938692098,"gmtModify":1634025598083,"author":{"id":"3569269304903580","authorId":"3569269304903580","name":"股市眈眈","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1b8130eeffeaf2e622f537f9117b8214","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569269304903580","authorIdStr":"3569269304903580"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Who should you believe?","listText":"Who should you believe?","text":"Who should you believe?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/161426374","repostId":"2144056746","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2425,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":187427694,"gmtCreate":1623762719718,"gmtModify":1634028770782,"author":{"id":"3569269304903580","authorId":"3569269304903580","name":"股市眈眈","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1b8130eeffeaf2e622f537f9117b8214","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569269304903580","authorIdStr":"3569269304903580"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Useful article","listText":"Useful article","text":"Useful article","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/187427694","repostId":"2143735752","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2091,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":108975676,"gmtCreate":1619997810395,"gmtModify":1634208747727,"author":{"id":"3569269304903580","authorId":"3569269304903580","name":"股市眈眈","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1b8130eeffeaf2e622f537f9117b8214","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3569269304903580","authorIdStr":"3569269304903580"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Still more rise?","listText":"Still more rise?","text":"Still more rise?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/108975676","repostId":"1142070002","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1142070002","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1619792975,"share":"https://www.laohunote.com/m/news/1142070002?lang=zh_CN&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-30 22:29","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NIO rose more than 5%, after falling nearly 4% before
","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1142070002","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"NIO Earnings Looked a Lot Like Ford’s. “For now the market trusts the judgement of the Federal Reserve and until data potentially proves them wrong, gold and with that also silver may face another challenging period.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3382,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":161426374,"gmtCreate":1623938692098,"gmtModify":1634025598083,"author":{"id":"3569269304903580","authorId":"3569269304903580","name":"股市眈眈","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1b8130eeffeaf2e622f537f9117b8214","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569269304903580","idStr":"3569269304903580"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Who should you believe?","listText":"Who should you believe?","text":"Who should you believe?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/161426374","repostId":"2144056746","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2425,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":377728867,"gmtCreate":1619566592859,"gmtModify":1634211797237,"author":{"id":"3569269304903580","authorId":"3569269304903580","name":"股市眈眈","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1b8130eeffeaf2e622f537f9117b8214","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569269304903580","idStr":"3569269304903580"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Lots of challenges, but EV is the future","listText":"Lots of challenges, but EV is the future","text":"Lots of challenges, but EV is the future","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/377728867","repostId":"1119653987","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1119653987","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1619534562,"share":"https://www.laohunote.com/m/news/1119653987?lang=zh_CN&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-27 22:42","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla and EV stocks on watch as supply chain issues weighed
","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1119653987","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Electric vehicle stocks are on watch after Tesla(TSLA-2.5%)CEO Elon Musk described \"insane difficult","content":"
Electric vehicle stocks are on watch after Tesla(TSLA-2.5%)CEO Elon Musk described \"insane difficulties\" with supply chains overa whole range of parts beyond just the chip shortage. \"This is a huge problem,\" he noted on last night's conference call.

A quick scan of the sector shows EV stocks to be holding up decently in early trading, despite what appears to be a concern: Fisker(FSR-1.6%), Canoo(GOEV+0.6%), Nio(NIO+0.0%), Lordstown Motors(RIDE-0.1%), Blink Charging(BLNK+1.0%), ChargePoint Holdings(CHPT+0.2%), XPeng(XPEV-1.3%), Nikola(NKLA+3.4%), Arrival(ARVL+2.6%)and Li Auto(LI-0.4%). While we acknowledge the rich multiple, we also believe TSLA maintains a meaningful market advantage, which we are trying to capture. We expect the energy management platform to have strong demand, particularly in California, where electricity supply has fallen below both gross peak and net peak needs as a result of transition to renewable sources leaving a gap in energy demand that needs to be compensated with imports from other states. We also believe expectations around the commercial ramp of ‘full autonomy’ is also rather over-hyped, in our opinion. We see Tesla emerging as 'chief contractor' to governments around the world who want to deploy renewable energy/sustainable transport infrastructure plans in the years ahead.\"

Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives: \"Clearly, the chip shortage is a major X variable for Tesla (and every other automaker) which speaks to the company reiterating and not raising its annual 2021 50% delivery growth (likely exceed) number which likely will be exceeded by 100k-150k vehicles in our opinion if the supply chain starts to normalize a bit in 2H. While the bears will laser focus on the chip shortage spoiling the EV party for Tesla in 2021, we believe the reality is that demand is spiking globally for Tesla's/EVs, the company's flagship production build outs in Berlin and Austin appear right on schedule, and the company has a treasure chest and cash flow to fund future R&D/capex endeavors in this EV arms race for the next decade.\"

Tesla's earnings report came in largely as anticipated, but the conference calldelved into AI and Bitcoin more than may have been expected.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Tesla and EV stocks on watch as supply chain issues weighed

\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTesla and EV stocks on watch as supply chain issues weighed
\n
\n
\n
\nseekingalpha2021-04-27 22:42\n
\n
\n
\n
\n

We are expecting accelerated growth in the energy generation and storage business, growing conservatively above $8B in revenue in '25 with gross margins at parity or better than its BEV business (+25%).\"

Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas: \"We see room for investor expectations around Tesla’s long term place in China to be dialed-back significantly over time.

\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"TSLA":"特斯拉"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/news/3686110-tesla-and-ev-stocks-on-watch-as-supply-chain-issues-weighed","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1119653987","content_text":"Electric vehicle stocks are on watch after Tesla(TSLA-2.5%)CEO Elon Musk described \"insane difficulties\" with supply chains overa whole range of parts beyond just the chip shortage. \"This is a huge problem,\" he noted on last night's conference call.\nA quick scan of the sector shows EV stocks to be holding up decently in early trading, despite what appears to be a concern: Fisker(FSR-1.6%), Canoo(GOEV+0.6%), Nio(NIO+0.0%), Lordstown Motors(RIDE-0.1%), Blink Charging(BLNK+1.0%), ChargePoint Holdings(CHPT+0.2%), XPeng(XPEV-1.3%), Nikola(NKLA+3.4%), Arrival(ARVL+2.6%)and Li Auto(LI-0.4%).
