I don't expect any problems,\" Bancel said in an interview with the Swiss newspaper TagesAnzeiger published on Tuesday.
\n
The company was now awaiting important information on the variant to begin development.
\n
\"That will take another week or two,\" Bancel said.
\n
\"It will take a few months before we can produce 500 million doses after (regulatory) approval. But our capacities are much higher today than a year ago,\" he said.
\n
If approval bodies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Switzerland's Swissmedic require further studies, that would add at least three months.
\n
\"Some authorities want a study, others are still undecided. In my opinion, it depends very much on how severely the disease progresses,\" he said.
\n
Following delivery delays and lags in production in early 2021, Moderna is now able to keep up with production targets and deliver orders on time.
\n
The company made between 700 million and 800 million COVID-19 vaccine doses this year, and expects to produce a higher number in 2022, boosting production from 100 million doses a month to 150 million.
\n
Additional production lines that are being built via a deal with Swiss-based drugmaker Lonza will become operational in the first quarter of 2022, boosting production, he said, adding the company for the first time had 30 million doses in stock.
\n
After signing preliminary agreements with Canada and Australia, Moderna has begun discussions with Switzerland over a so-called vaccine subscription that could ensure supply as it develops novel mRNA vaccine, and is interested in deepening ties with other regimes.
\n
\"We have a number of new vaccines in development, for example against influenza or against the RS virus, which causes a respiratory disease that is fatal in the elderly and young children,\" Bancel said.
\n
\"We can combine these three mRNA vaccines into one dose and propose to governments to secure supplies for a certain amount for several years and then invest in a production facility in that country.\"
\n
That would give those countries priority supply in the event of a new pandemic, he said.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The company has worked diligently in recent years to reduce its reliance on its flagship device by pushing heavily into services and wearables. But because of the iPhone's sheer dominance and despite Apple's best efforts, much of the company's fortune rests on the success or failure of this single product line.
\n
That's likely good news for Apple investors this year, as the company seems poised to break its all-time holiday sales record with brisk sales of the iPhone 13 heading into the all-important end-of-year shopping season. But global supply chain issues could put coal in Apple's stocking.
\n
A telling indicator
\n
Long and growing delivery times for the iPhone have historically been a pretty good gauge of strong demand, giving analysts' and investors alike insight into sales of the iconic device. Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives has put pencil to paper and concluded that demand is outstripping supply by roughly 15% ahead of Black Friday when the holiday shopping season begins in earnest.
\n
\"We estimate that Apple is on pace to sell [approximately] 40 million iPhones between Black Friday and Christmas,\" Ives wrote in a recent note to clients, \"which would be [a] record holiday pace for the company.\" Ives cited channel checks that suggest \"tremendous demand trends\" across the U.S. and in China as evidence that Apple could sell more than 80 million iPhones during the holiday quarter. To put a bow on this holiday package, Ives sees strong demand for pricier \"Pro versions driving higher ASPs [average selling prices].\"
\n
But there's a catch
\n
The news isn't all good, however. Global supply chain issues have been making headlines for months, with no relief in sight. President Joe Biden stepped in, announcing that the Port of Los Angeles would join the Port of Long Beach in operating around the clock to help clear the logjam of ships waiting to unload goods and supplies. There also remains a shortage of shipping containers and truck drivers to transport them.
\n
Ives acknowledges the \"chip shortage and Rubik's Cube logistics that Apple (and every other technology, auto, and retail vendor) is dealing with.\" But he remains undeterred, saying he expects record sales \"despite the lingering chip shortage limiting iPhone supply globally by roughly 10 million units based on our analysis.\"
\n
\n
Spreading holiday cheer for investors
\n
Ives isn't the only one spreading holiday cheer. Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty studied Apple's most recent regulatory filings and detected a 25% increase in inventory held by the company's manufacturing partners. The 30% in-app take rate for large developers and 15% take rate for small developers remained unchanged.
\n
Windfall For Small App Developers:Apple's recent App store policy change will likely benefit small developers, given they otherwise are less likely to have a way to contact their users,Loup FundsManaging PartnerGene Munstersaid in a note.
\n
Large developers such asNetflix, Inc.and Spotify Technology SA have already stepped away from Apple, prohibiting new users to sign up inside the App Store, the analyst said.
\n
\"Win-win\" For All Stakeholders:The changes announced do not allow developers to advertise within their apps about alternative payment options, the analyst said.
\n
\"This is a moderation, not an elimination, of the anti-steering clause,\" he added.
\n
Apple's adjustment, according to the analyst, is a win-win-win for all three parties – Apple, app makers and lawmakers.
\n
Allowing Third-party App Stores Next Bone of Contention:There is a low probability of regulators making any movement on take rate, due to the complexity involved, the analyst said.
\n
Given Apple has a 50% market share in the U.S., the tech giant may be forced to allow third-party app stores on iOS, according to the analyst.
\n
Explaining the modality of how this will pan out, Munster said, an iPhone user will go to Apple's App Store and download a third-party app such asEpic Gamesor a large centralized store like Alphabet, Inc.'s Google. Upon entering the third-party app store, the user will download an additional app, he added.
\n
Once an additional app, say a gaming app, is installed on the iPhone, the iPhone user would access the app as they do any other iOS app, the analyst said.
\n
Not Much Is Going to Change: By moderating the anti-steering clause, Apple is giving more control to developers and ultimately consumers, especially with respect to their payment methods, Munster said. Fool","summary":"There are few better roads to building wealth over your lifetime than investing in the stock market.","content":"
There are few better roads to building wealth over your lifetime than investing in the stock market. The long-term average return for the S&P 500 has been about 11% per year, and that's through depressions and recessions, war and civil unrest.
\n
The one certainty seems to be that no matter how bad things get, things always get better and actually improve. The beauty of stock investing is that you don't actually need to have a lot of money to get started and turn a small grubstake into a retirement nest egg.
\n
You could park $500 in the stock index for 25 years and not add another dollar and have it turn into $7,500 at those market averages. But the following two stocks should help your small investing acorn turn into a mighty oak portfolio, and likely well before the next decade begins.
\n
Fiverr
\n
The gig economy is here to stay, and Fiverr (NYSE:FVRR) has become a key driver of its acceptance as an alternative income generating channel. The freelancing platform has moved well beyond its early days when each gig was priced at just $5, and that has helped it grow into an important resource for creatives and those who need their services. The pandemic actually made it essential.
\n
Fiverr's technology platform connects freelancers with individuals and companies in need of their services. Instead of going through an agency, the buyer finds them on Fiverr through posted gigs, or packages with set prices for their work, including experience and how many jobs they may already have in the queue.
\n
Revenue surged 77% in 2020 to $189.5 million, and while the market has treated the stock as if no one will ever need to buy a gig again as the economy reopens (shares are down 2% year to date compared to a 19% gain for the S&P 500), management forecasts revenue will still rise 50% this year.
\n
Despite Fiverr's decline, shares remain expensive, trading at 27 times sales, or some nine times what the index trades at. Yet there are some good reasons to believe the freelance platform can readily grow into its valuation.
\n
Although the Israeli company estimates the total freelance market to be $750 billion annually and its addressable portion in the U.S. to be over $100 billion, Fiverr looks forward to expanding its business well beyond the English-speaking world, which currently represents around 70% of its revenue. International expansion will be a key focus for the future.
\n
Wall Street forecasts that Fiverr's adjusted earnings of $0.12 per share last year can grow to $1.57 per share by 2023, or a compounded growth rate of 135% annually. With share prices tending to follow earnings, the gig shop should see its stock follow suit and its current, seemingly overheated valuation looking like a very cool opportunity.
\n
Genuine Parts
\n
The computer chip shortage continues to plague the auto industry, and that's good news for Genuine Parts (NYSE:GPC), the owner of the NAPA Auto Parts chain of aftermarket auto parts stores. With auto sales forecast to fall 7% to 15.5 million vehicles this year because manufacturers can't get the chips needed to ship the cars to dealers, the market for used autos looks brighter and for aftermarket parts better still.
\n
For example, Ford has just 42 days of new inventory supply while Nissan has just 27, and Honda and Toyota both have just 17 days. With few cars available to buy, prices rising on those that are on dealer lots, and the crunch causing used car prices to soar, consumers are going to be looking to maintain their existing jalopies for a lot longer.
\n
You can see it playing out with Genuine Parts results with first half net sales up 17% from last year, but the effect is causing sales to accelerate as they were 25% higher in the second quarter. They were also 12% higher than they were for the same quarter pre-pandemic.
\n
Wall Street sees the auto parts dealer steadily growing sales at 5% a year for the next five years, which doesn't sound like it's setting the world on fire, but add in its dividend payment and investors have a sure and steady winner on their hands.
\n
Genuine Parts has paid dividends for nearly 100 years and has increased the payout annually for 65 straight years, making it a member of an elite group of stocks known as Dividend Kings. The dividend currently yields 2.6% annually, and with the retailer paying out less than 30% of its free cash flow in dividends, it's a secure line of income that investors can count on for years to come.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
2 Stocks That Can Turn $500 Into $7,500 (Or More)
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n2 Stocks That Can Turn $500 Into $7,500 (Or More)\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-10-20 22:44 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
There are few better roads to building wealth over your lifetime than investing in the stock market. The beauty of stock investing is that you don't actually need to have a lot of money to get started and turn a small grubstake into a retirement nest egg.\nYou could park $500 in the stock index for 25 years and not add another dollar and have it turn into $7,500 at those market averages. But the following two stocks should help your small investing acorn turn into a mighty oak portfolio, and likely well before the next decade begins.\nFiverr\nThe gig economy is here to stay, and Fiverr (NYSE:FVRR) has become a key driver of its acceptance as an alternative income generating channel. The freelancing platform has moved well beyond its early days when each gig was priced at just $5, and that has helped it grow into an important resource for creatives and those who need their services. The pandemic actually made it essential.\nFiverr's technology platform connects freelancers with individuals and companies in need of their services. Instead of going through an agency, the buyer finds them on Fiverr through posted gigs, or packages with set prices for their work, including experience and how many jobs they may already have in the queue.\nRevenue surged 77% in 2020 to $189.5 million, and while the market has treated the stock as if no one will ever need to buy a gig again as the economy reopens (shares are down 2% year to date compared to a 19% gain for the S&P 500), management forecasts revenue will still rise 50% this year.\nDespite Fiverr's decline, shares remain expensive, trading at 27 times sales, or some nine times what the index trades at. Yet there are some good reasons to believe the freelance platform can readily grow into its valuation.\nAlthough the Israeli company estimates the total freelance market to be $750 billion annually and its addressable portion in the U.S. to be over $100 billion, Fiverr looks forward to expanding its business well beyond the English-speaking world, which currently represents around 70% of its revenue. International expansion will be a key focus for the future.\nWall Street forecasts that Fiverr's adjusted earnings of $0.12 per share last year can grow to $1.57 per share by 2023, or a compounded growth rate of 135% annually. With share prices tending to follow earnings, the gig shop should see its stock follow suit and its current, seemingly overheated valuation looking like a very cool opportunity.\nGenuine Parts\nThe computer chip shortage continues to plague the auto industry, and that's good news for Genuine Parts (NYSE:GPC), the owner of the NAPA Auto Parts chain of aftermarket auto parts stores. With auto sales forecast to fall 7% to 15.5 million vehicles this year because manufacturers can't get the chips needed to ship the cars to dealers, the market for used autos looks brighter and for aftermarket parts better still.\nFor example, Ford has just 42 days of new inventory supply while Nissan has just 27, and Honda and Toyota both have just 17 days. With few cars available to buy, prices rising on those that are on dealer lots, and the crunch causing used car prices to soar, consumers are going to be looking to maintain their existing jalopies for a lot longer.\nYou can see it playing out with Genuine Parts results with first half net sales up 17% from last year, but the effect is causing sales to accelerate as they were 25% higher in the second quarter. They were also 12% higher than they were for the same quarter pre-pandemic.\nWall Street sees the auto parts dealer steadily growing sales at 5% a year for the next five years, which doesn't sound like it's setting the world on fire, but add in its dividend payment and investors have a sure and steady winner on their hands.\nGenuine Parts has paid dividends for nearly 100 years and has increased the payout annually for 65 straight years, making it a member of an elite group of stocks known as Dividend Kings. The dividend currently yields 2.6% annually, and with the retailer paying out less than 30% of its free cash flow in dividends, it's a secure line of income that investors can count on for years to come.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"FVRR":0.9,"GPC":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":207,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":813056167,"gmtCreate":1630116000259,"gmtModify":1704956172788,"author":{"id":"3569498367216176","authorId":"3569498367216176","name":"uyc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f3b735830b3a41262e5863a204e65f4d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569498367216176","idStr":"3569498367216176"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please help like ","listText":"Please help like ","text":"Please help like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/813056167","repostId":"2162733980","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2162733980","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1630112394,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2162733980?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-08-28 08:59","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Morgan Stanley Bought $240M Shares Of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2162733980","media":"Benzinga","summary":"What Happened: Investment banking giant Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) is now the second-largest sharehol","content":"
What Happened: Investment banking giant Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) is now the second-largest shareholder of the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (OTCMKTS: GBTC) after ARK Investment Management.
\n
According to recent SEC filings, Morgan Stanley owns over 6.5 million shares of GBTC worth over $240 million at the time of writing.
\n
Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest funds currently own 9 million shares worth $350 million.
\n
Morgan Stanley’s GBTC holdings are spread out across a series of funds, of which the Morgan Stanley Insight Fund holds close to 1 million shares.
\n
The purchases over the past few months also demonstrate how significantly Morgan Stanley has increased its exposure to the leading digital asset.
\n
At the end of June, the firm reported holding 28,000 shares of GBTC worth around $800,000 at the time.
\n
What Else: The Grayscale Bitcoin Trust itself holds over $31.24 billion of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) according to a recent update of its assets under management.
\n
The digital asset management firm had an overall AUM of over $43 billion at the time of writing, of which nearly $10 billion is held in the Grayscale Ethereum Trust (OTCMKTS: ETHE).
\n
Earlier this year, Grayscale revealed that it was 100% committed to converting its Bitcoin trust, which is currently the largest in the world, into an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF).
\n
Price Action: At press time, GBTC shares was trading $39.15, up 3.52%.
