Suddenly there’s no in-between and everything is extreme. The days of doing homework and investing in an idea are on hiatus. TakeRoblox(NYSE:RBLX), for example. RBLX stock cannot sit still for more than a few days at a time. It is constantly rallying leaps and bounds, and in both directions.
\n
Source: Miguel Lagoa / Shutterstock.com
\n
In early May it fell into an abyss threatening to set a new all-time low. Then it bounced into a 62% rally without much warning. Thereaction to earningsmay have triggered it, but they overshot on the upside as well. I know this because since the earlier high this month, it has given back 24% and straight down.
\n
This is where knowing how to read charts helps a lot. Fundamentals are still important, but in the face of such whipsaw action we need something extra. Capitulating out of RBLX stock as it fell into this week’s low is counterproductive. That was the breakout level from late May. Often enough when stocks revisit a pivot zone they find support on the way down. There should be buyers lurking below here.
\n
The company fundamentals are solid, asI covered in an April article. It hasn’t been public for long, but it has shown that it can grow its P&L. This is not a cheap stock because it still has a 40x price-to-sales ratio. It won’t take much to disappoint those who buy shares now.
\n
They’ve already given it credit for effectively 40 years worth of its sales. Investors demand perfection when they are paying up this much for the equity. On the other hand, a high price-to-sales ratio is not a reason to shy away from the stock. It’s just a cautionary signal to temper the enthusiasm.
\n
Catch the RBLX Stock Knife With Confidence
\n

\n
Source: Charts by TradingView
\n
Roblox stock is currently a falling machete, but one that I would dare to catch. My method for doing so would be in the options markets, where I can build an appropriately large buffer. I am confident that there will be buyers as it approaches $70 per share. Nevertheless, the indexes are still near all-time highs, so I need more assurances.
\n
Options allow me to leave room for error. For example, investors who sell RBLX October $65 puts can collect more than $4 a piece for them. This is a net credit trade so it doesn’t even need a rally to win. In fact, the stock can fall another 27% and they could still break even.
\n
Given what the Fed said last week, equities should find difficulties rallying into the second half of 2021. The more leeway I can place between current prices and my risk the better.
\n
Resistance to Rally
\n
I usually gain conviction by doing homework. But these days, especially in newer stocks like this, that logic doesn’t always work out. I would avoid buying call options in this environment. First of all, theCBOE Volatility Index(VIX) is still high so all premiums are expensive. Moreover, rallies in RBLX stock are likely to face resistance going into $90 per share.
\n
My preference would be to either take a small position with shares or sell puts in the mean time. This would reduce the sensitivity to time element. This opportunity should be a mere rinse-and-repeat scenario from April. Yet I would still employ proper stop losses just in case. Back then I mentioned that the earnings report could be a catalyst and it was. The stock rallied for 23 days to post a new high.
\n
I can’t promise the same results now but the setup is similar. It will still need the market in general to continue its own ascent.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Roblox Stock Is Looking to Level Up Again After Taking Earnings Hit
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nRoblox Stock Is Looking to Level Up Again After Taking Earnings Hit\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-24 17:35 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
RBLX stock is a wild ride but a bit predictable.\n\nIt’s as if the pandemic crisis last year wiped all investor rhyme and reason. That was the breakout level from late May. Often enough when stocks revisit a pivot zone they find support on the way down. There should be buyers lurking below here.\nThe company fundamentals are solid, asI covered in an April article. It hasn’t been public for long, but it has shown that it can grow its P&L. This is not a cheap stock because it still has a 40x price-to-sales ratio. It won’t take much to disappoint those who buy shares now.\nThey’ve already given it credit for effectively 40 years worth of its sales. Investors demand perfection when they are paying up this much for the equity. On the other hand, a high price-to-sales ratio is not a reason to shy away from the stock. It’s just a cautionary signal to temper the enthusiasm.\nCatch the RBLX Stock Knife With Confidence\n\nSource: Charts by TradingView\nRoblox stock is currently a falling machete, but one that I would dare to catch. My method for doing so would be in the options markets, where I can build an appropriately large buffer. I am confident that there will be buyers as it approaches $70 per share. Nevertheless, the indexes are still near all-time highs, so I need more assurances.\nOptions allow me to leave room for error. For example, investors who sell RBLX October $65 puts can collect more than $4 a piece for them. This is a net credit trade so it doesn’t even need a rally to win. In fact, the stock can fall another 27% and they could still break even.\nGiven what the Fed said last week, equities should find difficulties rallying into the second half of 2021. The more leeway I can place between current prices and my risk the better.\nResistance to Rally\nI usually gain conviction by doing homework. But these days, especially in newer stocks like this, that logic doesn’t always work out. I would avoid buying call options in this environment. First of all, theCBOE Volatility Index(VIX) is still high so all premiums are expensive. Moreover, rallies in RBLX stock are likely to face resistance going into $90 per share.\nMy preference would be to either take a small position with shares or sell puts in the mean time. This would reduce the sensitivity to time element. This opportunity should be a mere rinse-and-repeat scenario from April. Yet I would still employ proper stop losses just in case. Back then I mentioned that the earnings report could be a catalyst and it was. The stock rallied for 23 days to post a new high.\nI can’t promise the same results now but the setup is similar. It will still need the market in general to continue its own ascent.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":537,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":121903404,"gmtCreate":1624447130708,"gmtModify":1631890623226,"author":{"id":"3572660301203475","authorId":"3572660301203475","name":"Kqqq","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f0055eb0f3a7486450d414d868c7bb4e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572660301203475","authorIdStr":"3572660301203475"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like and comment thanks! However, these names are typically riskier and more volatile than the average stock.\nAdam Parker, former Morgan Stanley chief U.S. equity strategist and founder of Trivariate Research, said the time is right to buy growth shares, but investors should be cautious of a few.\n“We think that portfolio managers should be buying growth stocks again, focusing on positive free cash flow and margin expansion, not earnings-based valuation,” Parker said in a note released Wednesday.\nTrivariate Research used a number of criteria to identify risky stocks, including low or negative correlation to inflation, high correlation to the economic reopening and high levels of company insiders selling their shares. The research firm then identified the eight riskiest names based on those measures.\n“Our view is that these are among the riskiest stocks to own today, so investors who own these names should have disproportionate upside to their base cases to compensate them for these risks,” Parker said.\nTake a look at five of the riskiest technology stocks, according to Trivariate.\nRISKIEST TECH STOCKS, ACCORDING TO TRIVARIATE\n\n\n\nTICKER\nCOMPANY\nPRICE\n%CHANGE\n\n\n\n\nMCHP\nMicrochip Technology Inc\n145.62\n-3.0686\n\n\nTWLO\nTwilio Inc\n367.61\n1.84\n\n\nSQ\nSquare Inc\n237.05\n0.39\n\n\nNVDA\nNVIDIA Corp\n745.55\n-0.0992\n\n\nAAPL\nApple Inc\n130.46\n-1.0092\n\n\n\nApple is on Trivariate’s list of riskiest stocks. That's the closest it's been to a sell signal since May 2007, with the S&P 500(SP500)(NYSEARCA:SPY)seeing a drop of 7% over the next 12 months.\"Increasingly euphoric sentiment is a driver of our more cautious outlook as we believe that vaccine deployment, economic reopening, stimulus, etc. are largely priced in,\" BofA strategists led by Savita Subramaniam, wrote in a note. \"We have not seen a 5% pullback in six months (they have occurred on average 3x per year) nor have we experienced a 10% correction in 14 months (a once per year phenomenon, historically).\"\"Sentiment continues to climb as market gains continue: the year-over-year rise in our Sell Side Indicator is in the 85th percentile of our data history and above 1 std. deviation,\" they add. \"Since March 2020, equity allocations have risen >3.5x faster than they typically do following bear markets.\"\"Lofty valuations, juxtaposed against the potential for bad inflation, rising rates, and higher taxes on corporates and consumers.

Suddenly there’s no in-between and everything is extreme. The days of doing homework and investing in an idea are on hiatus. TakeRoblox(NYSE:RBLX), for example. RBLX stock cannot sit still for more than a few days at a time. It is constantly rallying leaps and bounds, and in both directions.\nSource: Miguel Lagoa / Shutterstock.com\nIn early May it fell into an abyss threatening to set a new all-time low. Then it bounced into a 62% rally without much warning. Thereaction to earningsmay have triggered it, but they overshot on the upside as well. I know this because since the earlier high this month, it has given back 24% and straight down.\nThis is where knowing how to read charts helps a lot. Fundamentals are still important, but in the face of such whipsaw action we need something extra. Capitulating out of RBLX stock as it fell into this week’s low is counterproductive. That was the breakout level from late May. Often enough when stocks revisit a pivot zone they find support on the way down. It will still need the market in general to continue its own ascent.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":537,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":100120168,"gmtCreate":1619591033954,"gmtModify":1631893727457,"author":{"id":"3572660301203475","authorId":"3572660301203475","name":"Kqqq","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f0055eb0f3a7486450d414d868c7bb4e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572660301203475","authorIdStr":"3572660301203475"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like and comment ","listText":"Please like and comment ","text":"Please like and comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/100120168","repostId":"1145859140","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1145859140","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1619578200,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1145859140?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-28 10:50","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Apple Q2 2021 Earnings Preview: What to Look For","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1145859140","media":"investopedia","summary":"KEY TAKEAWAYS\n\nAnalysts estimate EPS of $0.99 vs. $0.64 in Q2 FY 2020.\nServices revenue is expected ","content":"
KEY TAKEAWAYS
\n
\n
Analysts estimate EPS of $0.99 vs. $0.64 in Q2 FY 2020.
\n
Services revenue is expected to grow at a faster pace YOY, but decelerate from Q1 FY 2021.
\n
Companywide revenue is expected to increase at the fastest pace in at least 16 quarters.
\n
\n
Apple Inc. But, as Humphrey Neill, the father of contrarian analysis, constantly reminded his clients: “When everyone thinks alike, everyone is likely to be wrong.”
\n
Conventional wisdom certainly appears to be based on the evidence. M2 money supply (consisting of cash, checking deposits, and so-called “near money” that can be converted into cash with little difficulty) has grown at a faster rate over the past 12 months than at any time over the last six decades. Sure enough, the S&P 500 has turned in one of its strongest 12-month returns ever.
\n
This is just one data point. To investigate whether it is the exception or the rule, I analyzed several decades of historical record in search of a statistically significant correlation between the Federal Reserve’s stimulus and the stock market. I came up empty. The bulls therefore need to think twice before reassuring themselves that the bull market will continue just because the Federal Reserve is committed to priming the monetary pump.
\n
In searching for possible correlations, I relied on two different measures of the money supply. I focused on M2 Money Supply (cash, checking deposits, and so-called ‘near money’ that can be converted into cash with little difficulty) and the Federal Reserve’s total balance sheet assets (a broader measure which reflects the Fed’s direct intervention in the economy through the purchase of securities and Treasuries). Regardless of the definition, however, the correlations between the stock market and money supply are not stable over time.
\n
On the one hand, over the last decade there has been a strong positive correlation, just as we’ve seen over the last 12 months and what the bulls are assuming is the general pattern. But, on the other hand, this correlation was negative before that, which meant that in those earlier years faster money supply growth was more often than not associated with slower stock market growth, and vice versa. That’s just the opposite of what the bulls are assuming.
\n
After this first pass through the data, the most we can say is that sometimes faster money supply growth is good for stocks, and sometimes it isn’t.
\n
That in turn suggests that the relationship between the money supply and the stock market is a lot more complex than most investors think. A full discussion of that relationship is beyond the scope of this column, but we know that it depends in large part on investors’ appetite for risk. In a “risk-on” environment, for example, it is more likely that aggressive Fed easing will be considered bullish. But when investors are preoccupied with the downside (“risk-off”) then an aggressive Fed might cause investors to become even more worried.
\n
As is often the case, John Maynard Keynes, the famous British economist of a century ago, shrewdly captured this dynamic. He pointed out that central banks will be powerless to stimulate the economy if there is no appetite for risk-taking, and in such an environment the Fed’s efforts will be like “pushing on a string.”
\n
Another indication of the complexity of the relationship between money supply and the stock market is how much money velocity varies over time. I’m referring to the average number of times that money changes hands in a given year. When velocity declines, it takes a bigger money supply to have the same economic impact. Or, to put it another way, a bigger money supply won’t be stimulating if velocity declines too much in the process.
\n
This puts recent experience in perspective. As you can see from the accompanying chart, velocity plunged at the beginning of the pandemic and remains at one of its lowest levels in six decades.
\n

\n
The bottom line: The money supply undoubtedly is related to the course of both the economy and the stock market. M2 money supply (consisting of cash, checking deposits, and so-called “near money” that can be converted into cash with little difficulty) has grown at a faster rate over the past 12 months than at any time over the last six decades. Sure enough, the S&P 500 has turned in one of its strongest 12-month returns ever.\nThis is just one data point. To investigate whether it is the exception or the rule, I analyzed several decades of historical record in search of a statistically significant correlation between the Federal Reserve’s stimulus and the stock market. I came up empty. The bulls therefore need to think twice before reassuring themselves that the bull market will continue just because the Federal Reserve is committed to priming the monetary pump.\nIn searching for possible correlations, I relied on two different measures of the money supply. Regardless of the definition, however, the correlations between the stock market and money supply are not stable over time.\nOn the one hand, over the last decade there has been a strong positive correlation, just as we’ve seen over the last 12 months and what the bulls are assuming is the general pattern. But, on the other hand, this correlation was negative before that, which meant that in those earlier years faster money supply growth was more often than not associated with slower stock market growth, and vice versa. That’s just the opposite of what the bulls are assuming.\nAfter this first pass through the data, the most we can say is that sometimes faster money supply growth is good for stocks, and sometimes it isn’t.\nThat in turn suggests that the relationship between the money supply and the stock market is a lot more complex than most investors think. A full discussion of that relationship is beyond the scope of this column, but we know that it depends in large part on investors’ appetite for risk. In a “risk-on” environment, for example, it is more likely that aggressive Fed easing will be considered bullish. But when investors are preoccupied with the downside (“risk-off”) then an aggressive Fed might cause investors to become even more worried.\nAs is often the case, John Maynard Keynes, the famous British economist of a century ago, shrewdly captured this dynamic. He pointed out that central banks will be powerless to stimulate the economy if there is no appetite for risk-taking, and in such an environment the Fed’s efforts will be like “pushing on a string.”\nAnother indication of the complexity of the relationship between money supply and the stock market is how much money velocity varies over time. I’m referring to the average number of times that money changes hands in a given year. When velocity declines, it takes a bigger money supply to have the same economic impact. Or, to put it another way, a bigger money supply won’t be stimulating if velocity declines too much in the process.\nThis puts recent experience in perspective. As you can see from the accompanying chart, velocity plunged at the beginning of the pandemic and remains at one of its lowest levels in six decades.\n\nThe bottom line: The money supply undoubtedly is related to the course of both the economy and the stock market. But its role is neither simple nor straightforward.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":343,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":372005547,"gmtCreate":1619154586389,"gmtModify":1634288128140,"author":{"id":"3572660301203475","authorId":"3572660301203475","name":"Kqqq","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f0055eb0f3a7486450d414d868c7bb4e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572660301203475","authorIdStr":"3572660301203475"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Let's go nio!
