The stock’s recent run has been incredible. How high can it go?
\n
Tesla (ticker: TSLA) stock closed at $909.68, up about 1.8%. The S&P 500 dropped about 0.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added about 0.2%.
\n
Shares of the electric-vehicle giant have been boosted by strong deliveries and earnings. Shares also got a boost Friday from a credit upgrade at S&P. Tesla debt is now BB+ rated, one notch below investment grade.
\n
Tesla stock’s new 52-week intraday high is $910 on the nose. The old high-water mark of $900.40 was set on Jan. 25, according to Dow Jones Market Data. On Thursday, Tesla closed at a record for the first time since Jan. 26.
\n
Shares are up about 40% over the past three months, pushing the market cap to roughly $910 billion. (Tesla has about 1 billion shares outstanding, making the math easy.)
\n
Bulls, naturally, see more gains ahead. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives raised his bull-case Tesla stock price target to $1,500 from $1,300 after the company reported better-than-expected earnings on Wednesday.
\n
“Tesla is rising because earnings revisions are soaring,” points out Gary Black, managing partner of the Future Fund Active exchange-traded fund. Analyst estimates for Tesla’s 2022 earnings have risen to about $8 a share from $6 over the past few weeks. “Rising estimates drove Tesla to the moon in 2020. They will drive Tesla to $1,000-plus in 2022,” Black says.
\n
Ives rates Tesla stock Buy, and Tesla is the largest position in Black’s fund.
\n
Yes, there are still Tesla bears out there who believe the stock is overvalued. The bottom third of analyst price targets averages about $425, less than half of Friday’s close.
\n
Bears expect the sky-high valuation to give investors pause eventually. Stocks don’t usually fall just because investors, collectively, wake up one morning and feel differently about valuation. Something has to happen. The overall market could tumble, or the business could trip up. Analysts expect Tesla deliveries to grow to 1.3 million units in 2022 from about 890,000 units in 2021. The stock’s recent run has been incredible. How high can it go?\nTesla (ticker: TSLA) stock closed at $909.68, up about 1.8%. The S&P 500 dropped about 0.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added about 0.2%.\nShares of the electric-vehicle giant have been boosted by strong deliveries and earnings. Shares also got a boost Friday from a credit upgrade at S&P. Tesla debt is now BB+ rated, one notch below investment grade.\nTesla stock’s new 52-week intraday high is $910 on the nose. The old high-water mark of $900.40 was set on Jan. 25, according to Dow Jones Market Data. On Thursday, Tesla closed at a record for the first time since Jan. 26.\nShares are up about 40% over the past three months, pushing the market cap to roughly $910 billion. (Tesla has about 1 billion shares outstanding, making the math easy.)\nBulls, naturally, see more gains ahead. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives raised his bull-case Tesla stock price target to $1,500 from $1,300 after the company reported better-than-expected earnings on Wednesday.\n“Tesla is rising because earnings revisions are soaring,” points out Gary Black, managing partner of the Future Fund Active exchange-traded fund. Analyst estimates for Tesla’s 2022 earnings have risen to about $8 a share from $6 over the past few weeks. “Rising estimates drove Tesla to the moon in 2020. They will drive Tesla to $1,000-plus in 2022,” Black says.\nIves rates Tesla stock Buy, and Tesla is the largest position in Black’s fund.\nYes, there are still Tesla bears out there who believe the stock is overvalued. The bottom third of analyst price targets averages about $425, less than half of Friday’s close.\nBears expect the sky-high valuation to give investors pause eventually. Any hiccup to growth would be a negative catalyst for shares.\nWhether the stock rises or falls in the short run is anyone’s guess. For now, though, the momentum belongs to Tesla bulls.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":554,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":853673318,"gmtCreate":1634807254585,"gmtModify":1634807255787,"author":{"id":"3576314755404440","authorId":"3576314755404440","name":"ORNEGU","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cc9a0db1a49cb16e404b18823322d904","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576314755404440","authorIdStr":"3576314755404440"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"up","listText":"up","text":"up","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/853673318","repostId":"1171775387","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":634,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":824028374,"gmtCreate":1634263473965,"gmtModify":1634274407023,"author":{"id":"3576314755404440","authorId":"3576314755404440","name":"ORNEGU","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cc9a0db1a49cb16e404b18823322d904","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576314755404440","authorIdStr":"3576314755404440"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"up","listText":"up","text":"up","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/824028374","repostId":"1137577394","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1137577394","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1634222446,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1137577394?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-10-14 22:40","market":"us","language":"en","title":"AMC Entertainment stock surged more than 7% in morning trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1137577394","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"AMC Entertainment stock surged more than 7% in morning trading as Halloween movies hit theaters.\n\nAM","content":"
AMC Entertainment stock surged more than 7% in morning trading as Halloween movies hit theaters.
\n

\n
AMC has extended its recent trend as the stock continues to find support after free falling for the past month. On Wednesday, shares of AMC gained a further 2.96% and closed the trading session at $37.91.There has been some mounting momentum for the meme stock as of late, as the buzz in internet chat rooms and Reddit boards is pointing towards another attempt at a short squeeze.
\n
AMC apes were once again able to get the hashtag #AMCSqueeze trending on social media on Wednesday. The surge in mentions came as the result of an announcement that the SEC is initiating an investigation into Citadel Securities, which is public enemy number one for retail investors. The investigation will look into Citadel’s business practices, which may include things like short selling stocks as well as its relationship with pay to order flow brokerages like Robinhood (NASDAQ:HOOD).
\n
AMC’s stock should be helped out by strong quarter over quarter and year over year comparisons from the third and fourth quarters of 2020.A slew of new Hollywood movies are set to hit theaters over the next couple of weeks, including the new Halloween Kills film that is kicking off the Halloween season. But year to date, the rotation from expensive growth stocks to value stocks has led to higher volatility for many tech names that outperformed in 2020.
\n
Two stocks that are bucking that trend are Alphabet(NASDAQ:GOOG)(NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Dell Technologies(NYSE:DELL). Here's why these stocks could have more upside in 2021.
\n
\n
1. Alphabet
\n
Alphabet's stock price has trounced the broader market, up 42% year to date. The online tech titan initially reported sluggish growth in 2020 as the pandemic slowed digital ad spending, which drives the bulk of Google search and YouTube revenue. But ad spending has been recovering strongly over the last few quarters.
\n
In the first quarter, revenue grew 34% year over year, on top of 15% in the year-ago quarter. More people are relying on search to find vaccine information and look for jobs, which is boosting Google's advertising revenue in the search business. YouTube ad spending is also picking up as more people are turning to the video platform to watch reviews and shop for products.
\n
During the Q1 earnings call, Alphabet's Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler said, \"We've seen great momentum in TrueView for Action ads, with a number of advertisers using the format doubling over the past year.\"
\n
Alphabet is also a leader in the booming cloud services market, where Google Cloud revenue surged 46% year over year. What's notable about this performance is that Google Cloud grew faster than the cloud market overall. This is an important market share gain for Google, which continues to trail the leaders,Microsoft and Amazon.
\n
Overall, Alphabet has a wide competitive moat, with a massive base of users who rely on Gmail, Google Maps, search, and YouTube every day.
\n
Of course, government regulation is a long-term threat here. Alphabet just reached a settlement with regulators in France, where it will pay $270 million in fines over an antitrust dispute. But this regulatory risk seems to already be reflected in the stock's valuation.
\n
Analysts expect this FAANG stock to grow earnings per share at an annualized rate of 21% over the next five years, which is more than enough to support a forward P/E of 28.7 at the stock's current price.
\n
2. Dell Technologies
\n
Many investors remember Dell from the glory days of the PC boom a few decades ago. While the company benefited from a healthy PC market in the first quarter, the reason investors should consider buying shares is the momentum Dell is experiencing with its information technology business, along with other catalysts on the horizon.
\n
After posting a 1% decline in revenue through the first half of fiscal 2021, Dell has seen revenue accelerate to 9% in fiscal Q4 2021 and 12% in fiscal Q1 2022.
\n
\"There has been a substantial acceleration in digital transformation across the globe and you can see it in our results with record first-quarter revenue of $24.5 billion,\" Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clarke said in the earnings report.
\n
The stock has doubled off its lows from a year ago, reflecting the company's improving outlook coming out of the pandemic. But it could still head higher, for a few reasons.
\n
First, Dell is rapidly paying down its debt, which stood at $37.9 billion at the end of April, down from $41.6 billion at the end of January. Debt reduction not only lowers financial risk for Dell, but it also boosts earnings growth, since lower debt also means lower interest expense. The recent reduction in debt lowered interest expense by approximately $162 million last quarter and contributed to a 59% jump in net profit.
\n
Dell is also spinning off its 81% interest in VMware, which will provide proceeds of $9.3 billion to $9.7 billion to accelerate the reduction in debt.
\n
Ultimately, valuation is what counts. But year to date, the rotation from expensive growth stocks to value stocks has led to higher volatility for many tech names that outperformed in 2020.\nTwo stocks that are bucking that trend are Alphabet(NASDAQ:GOOG)(NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Dell Technologies(NYSE:DELL). Here's why these stocks could have more upside in 2021.\nIMAGE SOURCE: GETTY IMAGES.\n1. Alphabet\nAlphabet's stock price has trounced the broader market, up 42% year to date. The online tech titan initially reported sluggish growth in 2020 as the pandemic slowed digital ad spending, which drives the bulk of Google search and YouTube revenue. But ad spending has been recovering strongly over the last few quarters.\nIn the first quarter, revenue grew 34% year over year, on top of 15% in the year-ago quarter. More people are relying on search to find vaccine information and look for jobs, which is boosting Google's advertising revenue in the search business. YouTube ad spending is also picking up as more people are turning to the video platform to watch reviews and shop for products.\nDuring the Q1 earnings call, Alphabet's Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler said, \"We've seen great momentum in TrueView for Action ads, with a number of advertisers using the format doubling over the past year.\"\nAlphabet is also a leader in the booming cloud services market, where Google Cloud revenue surged 46% year over year. What's notable about this performance is that Google Cloud grew faster than the cloud market overall. This is an important market share gain for Google, which continues to trail the leaders,Microsoft and Amazon.\nOverall, Alphabet has a wide competitive moat, with a massive base of users who rely on Gmail, Google Maps, search, and YouTube every day.\nOf course, government regulation is a long-term threat here. Alphabet just reached a settlement with regulators in France, where it will pay $270 million in fines over an antitrust dispute. But this regulatory risk seems to already be reflected in the stock's valuation.\nAnalysts expect this FAANG stock to grow earnings per share at an annualized rate of 21% over the next five years, which is more than enough to support a forward P/E of 28.7 at the stock's current price.\n2. Dell Technologies\nMany investors remember Dell from the glory days of the PC boom a few decades ago. While the company benefited from a healthy PC market in the first quarter, the reason investors should consider buying shares is the momentum Dell is experiencing with its information technology business, along with other catalysts on the horizon.\nAfter posting a 1% decline in revenue through the first half of fiscal 2021, Dell has seen revenue accelerate to 9% in fiscal Q4 2021 and 12% in fiscal Q1 2022.\n\"There has been a substantial acceleration in digital transformation across the globe and you can see it in our results with record first-quarter revenue of $24.5 billion,\" Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clarke said in the earnings report.\nThe stock has doubled off its lows from a year ago, reflecting the company's improving outlook coming out of the pandemic. But it could still head higher, for a few reasons.\nFirst, Dell is rapidly paying down its debt, which stood at $37.9 billion at the end of April, down from $41.6 billion at the end of January. Debt reduction not only lowers financial risk for Dell, but it also boosts earnings growth, since lower debt also means lower interest expense. The recent reduction in debt lowered interest expense by approximately $162 million last quarter and contributed to a 59% jump in net profit.\nDell is also spinning off its 81% interest in VMware, which will provide proceeds of $9.3 billion to $9.7 billion to accelerate the reduction in debt.\nUltimately, valuation is what counts. The stock trades at a low price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 12 times forward earnings estimates. A combination of improving business growth, lower debt, and a cheap P/E make this a top tech stock to consider buying right now.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":368,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":823292581,"gmtCreate":1633623592186,"gmtModify":1633623593437,"author":{"id":"3576314755404440","authorId":"3576314755404440","name":"ORNEGU","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cc9a0db1a49cb16e404b18823322d904","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576314755404440","authorIdStr":"3576314755404440"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"up","listText":"up","text":"up","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/823292581","repostId":"1153354831","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1153354831","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1633612310,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1153354831?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-10-07 21:11","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Palantir Technologies Is Worth Getting Into Now, Though Another Dip Is Possible","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1153354831","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"On Aug. 12, Palantir Technologies Inc. reported 49% revenue growth and adjusted earnings per share o","content":"
On Aug. 12, Palantir Technologies Inc. reported 49% revenue growth and adjusted earnings per share of four cents. Plants on both sites will open in 2025.
\n
Monday's announcement is the single largest manufacturing investment in Ford's 118-year history.
\n
The Tennessee assembly and battery complex will be about three times the size of Ford's sprawling, century-old Rouge manufacturing complex in Dearborn, Michigan, Ford North American Chief Operating Officer Lisa Drake told Reuters in an interview. She emphasized there will be room to expand on that site.
\n
\"For us, this is a very transformative point where we are putting our capital in place now in a very big way to lead the transition to EVs,\" Drake said.
\n
The No.2 U.S. carmaker's portion of the investment is $7 billion, with SK covering the rest. The companies will invest $5.8 billion in Kentucky, and $5.6 billion in Tennessee.
\n
The South Korean battery maker, which supplies electric car batteries to Ford Motor and Hyundai Motor Co among others, has battery production sites in the United States, Hungary, China and South Korea.
\n
With its three additional battery factories and two battery plants in Georgia, SK Innovation is set to secure an annual capacity of about 150 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of batteries in the United States.
\n
SK Innovation said it expects to exceed the goal of securing an annual global production capacity of 200 GWh of batteries by 2025. Its current capacity stands at 40 GWh.
\n
Ford, which plans to launch the electric F-150 Lightning pickup truck next spring, has moved more aggressively to roll out its EV strategy under Jim Farley, who took over as chief executive last October. Earlier this month, Ford doubled planned production capacity in Dearborn, Michigan, for the F-150 Lightning to 80,000 annually due to strong pre-launch demand for the electric pickup.
\n
Ford and other automakers are pushing hard to prepare for the rollout of EVs as countries and regions such as China and Europe seek greater reduction of vehicle emissions.
\n
The planned lithium-ion battery plants build on a memorandum of understanding announced by Ford and SK in May. The battery plants will be jointly owned with SK and have a combined annual capacity of 129 GWh of batteries, which could power about 2.2 million EVs when fully operational, more than double the level outlined in May, Drake said. The new capacity would be enough to power more than 1 million EVs.
\n
Ford previously said its global EV plan calls for at least 240 GWh of battery cell capacity by 2030, equal to about 10 plants that will be placed in North America, Europe and China. SK has said it aims to ramp up annual global battery capacity to more than 200 GWh in 2025.
\n
TENNESSEE MEGA CAMPUS
\n
As part of Monday's announcement, Ford will build a 3,600-acre \"mega campus\" in west Tennessee called Blue Oval City that will employ 5,800 people and include the assembly plant, lithium-ion battery production and a supplier park, Drake said. Blue Oval plays off Ford's name for its corporate logo.
\n
The new Tennessee assembly plant will build the next generation of the Lightning, using a dedicated EV platform, following its launch next year, Drake said. The initial Lightning model will be built on a platform heavily derived from the gasoline-powered F-150.
\n
Drake did not disclose the planned production capacity for the Tennessee truck plant.
\n
The site will also include zero-waste-to-landfill processes to capture materials and scrap.
\n
In central Kentucky, Ford will build BlueOvalSK Battery Park, employing 5,000 people. The site will consist of twin plants building lithium-ion batteries for Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles, starting in 2025. The second factory will open the following year.
\n
The companies will receive $500 million in incentives from Tennessee and almost $300 million as well as more than 1,500 acres of land from Kentucky.
\n
The United Auto Workers union, which represents Ford's U.S. hourly workers, has said the automaker has a \"moral obligation\" to make sure any battery plant jobs are good-paying union jobs. Drake said that will be determined by the workers, but added Ford emphasized to SK it must not be anti-union.
\n
Monday's announcement builds on Ford's deal last week to partner with Redwood Materials to form a circular supply chain for EV batteries, from raw materials to recycling. Redwood will be located at Ford's Tennessee site.
\n
Ford said on Monday it will separately spend $525 million over the next five years to fund job training and career readiness initiatives for U.S. auto technicians to help prepare for the shift to EVs.
