Mizuho has a neutral rating on the stock. The price of bitcoin was trading at just over$37,000 on Tuesday morning, well above its recent lows but still roughly 40% below its record high from April after a bout of extreme volatility in the crypto market. The potential for a “winter,” which refers to a period when the price of bitcoin and other digital coins are stuck at low levels following a price crash, could mean a significant hit to Coinbase’s business, Mizuho said in a note to clients.Indeed, one example of a crypto winter would be the decline in digital asset prices that started in late 2017.“The harsh winter of 2018 resulted in volumes drying up, which adversely impacted COIN’s transacting users and retail revenues (~80% of total). Although all outcomes are still feasible for 2021, a crypto winter may mean 15% to 20% potential downside to current consensus sales expectations,” the note said.Mizuho’s warning differs from some other Wall Street firms, who have said that the drop in prices for cryptocurrency is not a huge deal or even a positive, given its potential to drive higher trading activity.Wedbush said that prices directly impacted only about2% of the company’s revenue. Goldman Sachs said investors should instead focus on volatility which would be the “bigger driver in the near term.”In a way, that view makes Coinbase look more like an investment bank, in which increased trading during a downturn can shore up the financial results even if other areas of the business take a short-term hit. However, Mizuho’s note argued that the price drop risks driving users and interest away from Coinbase and depressing the overall business for the foreseeable future. The firm did a regression analysis that found that the price of bitcoin was the most important factor in projecting users and volumes on Coinbase. The dramatic fall in the price of bitcoin in late 2017 and early 2018 led to a sustained lower level of activity for the exchange platform, Mizuho said.“For COIN, the winter was unpleasant. Monthly transacting users dropped from 2.7mn in 1Q18 to 0.8mn in 1Q19, which weighed on retail transaction revenue,” the note said.To be sure, the crypto market has grown dramatically over the past year and attracted more institutional users, which could make prior trading data less reliable for future projection.Coinbase went public through a direct listing in April, opening trading at $381 per share. After initially popping above $400, the stock has steadily declined and closed just above $225 on Monday.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1941,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":138446769,"gmtCreate":1621956622151,"gmtModify":1634185144807,"author":{"id":"3581842076108699","authorId":"3581842076108699","name":"小小只样","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c7f90d0dc72cf5dbd2ac5c13542c4c87","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581842076108699","authorIdStr":"3581842076108699"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Smile] ","listText":"[Smile] ","text":"[Smile]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/138446769","repostId":"2138193987","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1920,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":133607805,"gmtCreate":1621739415007,"gmtModify":1634186866475,"author":{"id":"3581842076108699","authorId":"3581842076108699","name":"小小只样","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c7f90d0dc72cf5dbd2ac5c13542c4c87","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581842076108699","authorIdStr":"3581842076108699"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Miser] ","listText":"[Miser] ","text":"[Miser]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/133607805","repostId":"2137990425","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":433,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":197854341,"gmtCreate":1621444152083,"gmtModify":1634189096821,"author":{"id":"3581842076108699","authorId":"3581842076108699","name":"小小只样","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c7f90d0dc72cf5dbd2ac5c13542c4c87","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581842076108699","authorIdStr":"3581842076108699"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Miser] ","listText":"[Miser] ","text":"[Miser]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/197854341","repostId":"1134860607","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":478,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":197855756,"gmtCreate":1621444096275,"gmtModify":1634189097185,"author":{"id":"3581842076108699","authorId":"3581842076108699","name":"小小只样","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c7f90d0dc72cf5dbd2ac5c13542c4c87","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581842076108699","authorIdStr":"3581842076108699"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Sad] ","listText":"[Sad] ","text":"[Sad]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/197855756","repostId":"1172548317","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1172548317","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1621438256,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1172548317?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-19 23:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Coinbase back online following outage for some users amid bitcoin sell-off","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1172548317","media":"CNBC","summary":"KEY POINTS\n\nCrypto-exchange Coinbase said its site and app resumed service after a brief outage earl","content":"
\n
KEY POINTS\n\nCrypto-exchange Coinbase said its site and app resumed service after a brief outage earlier in the day.\nCoinbase was down for some users Wednesday morning as digital coins plunged.\nSeveral...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; As we all get ready to welcome summer days that more closely resemble our pre-pandemic lives, the markets are rotating away from the growth stocks it favored during lockdowns and quarantines, especially tech shares.
\n
For instance, the tech-heavyNASDAQ 100index is down more than 4% since the start of May. As a result, many retail investors are wondering which sectors and stocks might be do well in the remaining days of the quarter.
\n
The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic remains the most crucial market factor. Last year, that meant buying businesses that benefited from trends resulting from the pandemic and the lockdown (such as digitalization, health care, renewable energy or work-from-home). However, many of this year’s leading stocks are those most likely to benefit from a recovering economy and a ‘return to normalcy.’
\n
With that information, here are seven hot stocks to buy:
\n
\n
Align Technology(NASDAQ:ALGN)
\n
Ford Motor(NYSE:F)
\n
Freeport-McMoRan(NYSE:FCX)
\n
Hilton Worldwide(NYSE:HLT)
\n
Stryker(NYSE:SYK)
\n
Take-Two Interactive(NASDAQ:TTWO)
\n
Verizon Communications(NYSE:VZ)
\n
\n
Over the past 12 months, investors were able to find quality names at good value. Now, valuation levels are quite stretched. Yet, there are still plenty of robust investment opportunities out there, especially for long-term investors.
\n
Hot stocks to buy: Align Technology(ALGN)Source: rafapress / Shutterstock.com
\n
52-week range:$195.56– $647.20
\n
Dental device groupAlign Technology is primarily known for its Invisalign system, an alternative to traditional braces to correct malocclusions, or misalignment of the teeth. You might know of this product as invisible dental braces. The company also manufactures scanners and offers computer-aided design (CAD) services to support the customization of these liners.
\n
Align Technologyreported record-setting first quarter resultson April 28. Total revenue was $894.8 million, up 62.4% year-over-year (YoY). On a non-GAAP basis, first quarter net income was $198.4 million, or $2.49 per diluted share. This represented a 242% increase from $57.9 million, or 73 cents per diluted share, recorded in the prior year quarter.Cash and equivalents stood at $1.1 billion.
\n
CEO Joe Hogan said:
\n
\n “It’s remarkable to think about the pace of growth and adoption that we are experiencing worldwide, especially when considering it took 10 years to achieve our one millionth Invisalign patient milestone. Now we are adding one million new Invisalign patients in less than six months.”\n
\n
The pandemic has meant many individuals had to postpone non-essential dental procedures. As our economy opens up further, more people are likely to start elective dental procedures, such as tooth straightening treatments. Meanwhile, the number of orthodontists and general practitioner dentists using theInvisalign system stateside is on the rise. Therefore, the company is likely to keep growing for many quarters to come. Its market capitalization (cap) stands at $43 billion.
\n
Year-to-date (YTD), the shares are up 3% and hit a record high in late April. ALGN stock’s forward price-to-earnings (P/E) and price-to-sales (P/S) ratios are 65.36 and 16.88.
\n
Short-term profit-taking could put pressure on the shares. Forward P/E and P/S ratios stand at 11.76 and 0.37, respectively. Since the earnings report, F stock has come under pressure. As we all get ready to welcome summer days that more closely resemble our pre-pandemic lives, the markets are rotating away from the growth stocks it favored during lockdowns and quarantines, especially tech shares.\nFor instance, the tech-heavyNASDAQ 100index is down more than 4% since the start of May. As a result, many retail investors are wondering which sectors and stocks might be do well in the remaining days of the quarter.\nThe ongoing Covid-19 pandemic remains the most crucial market factor. Last year, that meant buying businesses that benefited from trends resulting from the pandemic and the lockdown (such as digitalization, health care, renewable energy or work-from-home). However, many of this year’s leading stocks are those most likely to benefit from a recovering economy and a ‘return to normalcy.’\nWith that information, here are seven hot stocks to buy:\n\nAlign Technology(NASDAQ:ALGN)\nFord Motor(NYSE:F)\nFreeport-McMoRan(NYSE:FCX)\nHilton Worldwide(NYSE:HLT)\nStryker(NYSE:SYK)\nTake-Two Interactive(NASDAQ:TTWO)\nVerizon Communications(NYSE:VZ)\n\nOver the past 12 months, investors were able to find quality names at good value. Now, valuation levels are quite stretched. Yet, there are still plenty of robust investment opportunities out there, especially for long-term investors.\nHot stocks to buy: Align Technology(ALGN)Source: rafapress / Shutterstock.com\n52-week range:$195.56– $647.20\nDental device groupAlign Technology is primarily known for its Invisalign system, an alternative to traditional braces to correct malocclusions, or misalignment of the teeth. You might know of this product as invisible dental braces. The company also manufactures scanners and offers computer-aided design (CAD) services to support the customization of these liners.\nAlign Technologyreported record-setting first quarter resultson April 28. Total revenue was $894.8 million, up 62.4% year-over-year (YoY). On a non-GAAP basis, first quarter net income was $198.4 million, or $2.49 per diluted share. This represented a 242% increase from $57.9 million, or 73 cents per diluted share, recorded in the prior year quarter.Cash and equivalents stood at $1.1 billion.\nCEO Joe Hogan said:\n\n “It’s remarkable to think about the pace of growth and adoption that we are experiencing worldwide, especially when considering it took 10 years to achieve our one millionth Invisalign patient milestone. Now we are adding one million new Invisalign patients in less than six months.”\n\nThe pandemic has meant many individuals had to postpone non-essential dental procedures. Its market capitalization (cap) stands at $43 billion.\nYear-to-date (YTD), the shares are up 3% and hit a record high in late April. ALGN stock’s forward price-to-earnings (P/E) and price-to-sales (P/S) ratios are 65.36 and 16.88.\nShort-term profit-taking could put pressure on the shares. Revenue increased 6% to $36.2 billion. Forward P/E and P/S ratios stand at 11.76 and 0.37, respectively. Since the earnings report, F stock has come under pressure. As we all get ready to welcome summer days that more closely resemble our pre-pandemic lives, the markets are rotating away from the growth stocks it favored during lockdowns and quarantines, especially tech shares.
The auto industry, as well as many other sectors, are under pressure due to the chip shortage worldwide.\nYTD, Ford shares are up over 32%. Forward P/E and P/S ratios stand at 11.76 and 0.37, respectively. Since the earnings report, F stock has come under pressure. After initially popping above $400, the stock has steadily declined and closed just above $225 on Monday.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1941,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":138446769,"gmtCreate":1621956622151,"gmtModify":1634185144807,"author":{"id":"3581842076108699","authorId":"3581842076108699","name":"小小只样","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c7f90d0dc72cf5dbd2ac5c13542c4c87","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581842076108699","authorIdStr":"3581842076108699"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Smile] ","listText":"[Smile] ","text":"[Smile]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/138446769","repostId":"2138193987","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1920,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":837204613,"gmtCreate":1629889844533,"gmtModify":1633681702195,"author":{"id":"3581842076108699","authorId":"3581842076108699","name":"小小只样","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c7f90d0dc72cf5dbd2ac5c13542c4c87","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581842076108699","authorIdStr":"3581842076108699"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Sad] ","listText":"[Sad] ","text":"[Sad]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/837204613","repostId":"830986226","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":830986226,"gmtCreate":1629000822865,"gmtModify":1629079865611,"author":{"id":"3563421686188310","authorId":"3563421686188310","name":"Hopehope赋予希望","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9d9527ab7ac6557b84288abebb9ec540","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3563421686188310","authorIdStr":"3563421686188310"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"160 to 165 USD for $Alibaba(BABA)$is definitely possible.
