Shorts not covering = less ACTUAL shares available Small share pool = option houses working AGAINST call contract holders (if there are no shares out there, it is difficult to exercise a call contract - easier to let those fall out of the than open up the pandora's box on the entire market and lay it bare for the public to see) Lots of $9 and $10 calls out there, so there is an incentive at this point for the powers that be to keep this below $9 for the moment.
