quarter, versus Netflix’s guidance of 1 million.\nThe firm pointed to a strong slate of original content during the second-quarter, including new seasons of “Kominsky Method” and “Master of None.”\n“We view NFLX as a pioneer in online streaming, with further expected growth in subs in the US and expectations for long-term sub growth internationally in existing and new markets,” the note said investors should buy Netflix shares following a poor first half, predicting better-than-expected subscriber growth as the company maintains its leadership in the streaming space.\n“We think NFLX is well positioned as the first choice to stream movies and TV shows online, while the company continues to ramp Originals & increase the value prop of the service,” Cowen’s John Blackledge said in a note released Thursday.\nThe firm reiterated its outperform rating on Netflix and maintained its $650 price target, implying 23% upside.\nAhead of Netflix’s second-quarter earnings report, Cowen expects net subscriber numbers to top the company’s forecast due to low churn and improved engagement.\nCowen forecasts 1.276 million total global paid net streaming subscriber additions in the second quarter, versus Netflix’s guidance of 1 million.\nThe firm pointed to a strong slate of original content during the second-quarter, including new seasons of “Kominsky Method” and “Master of None.”\n“We view NFLX as a pioneer in online streaming, with further expected growth in subs in the US and expectations for long-term sub growth internationally in existing and new markets,” the note said.\nNetflix shares are down more than 2% in 2021 after a massive pandemic-era subscriber surge in 2020, but Cowen said the streaming giant “continues to lead living room TV.”\nA Cowen survey found that Netflix continues to dominate in streaming among U.S. consumers, as 28% of respondents said Netflix has the best video content, more than any other platform.\nCowen’s report comes roughly a week
