South Korea's Transport Ministry Orders Recall of More than 107,000 Vehicles Over Defective Parts
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Wednesday that 107,747 vehicles across eight models from Hyundai Motor , Kia , Renault Korea, Ford Sales Service Korea, and Volvo Trucks Korea will be voluntarily recalled over defective components.About 60,934 units of Hyundai's Porter II model and 33,990 units of Kia's Bongo III face risks of steering malfunction from faulty belt tensioners. Renault's 8,562 units, which include the XM3 and another model, will be recalled due to fuel pump software errors.About 2,680 units of Ford's MKX model have defective rear brake light cover detachment, while 1,581 Volvo trucks face axle control software issues.Recalls begin between Sept. 19 and Sept. 30.
