相比于公司去年发布的芯片Altan,Thor的AI算力提升了一倍,达到了2000TFLOPS,是特斯拉FSD芯片的14倍,可同时满足自动泊车、自动驾驶、车机、仪表盘以及驾驶员监测等六重汽车算力需求。 英伟达CEO黄仁勋表示,Thor芯片是为汽车中央计算架构而生的产品。英伟达对Thor芯片的愿景是用它取代目前汽车内的单独芯片,帮助车企降低生产的成本。 据介绍,吉利旗下的新能源品牌极氪成为“第一个吃螃蟹的人”,其将于2025年开始使用Thor芯片。目前,极氪量产车型极氪001搭载的自动驾驶芯片是Mobileye EyeQ5,单颗算力为24TFLOPS。 目前来看,英伟达推出的智能汽车芯片已成为车企的重要部件。以英伟达发布的Orin芯片为例,其已被“蔚小理”百度和智己等多家中国车企使用。值得一提的是,随着英伟达正式发布Thor芯片,Altan芯片也将不再上市。 不过,目前有部分车企仍在坚持自研芯片,特斯拉Model 3、Model Y等车型上已经采用了自研的FSD芯片,同时,特斯拉在2021年AI Day上还推出了基于自研D1芯片打造的Dojo。 此外,还有报道称,通用汽车旗下自动驾驶公司Cruise正在同时自研四颗芯片,预计2025年前搭载到为全无人驾驶设计的车辆Origin上(不设方向盘或脚踏板)。 不过,有业内人士表示,算力的提升会让汽车某一方面性能大幅升级,但对于自动驾驶、用户体验来说,算力还不是最关键的,最重要的应该是生态。 事实上,近几年许多芯片厂商在从事功能融合,增加芯片集成度。比如,德赛西威就在尝试把行车辅助和自动泊车功能运算集成到同一颗芯片上,选择该方案的车企非常多。半导体企业英飞凌发表文章称,汽车电脑控制模组(ECU)集成度不断提高,可以使电路面板体积不变或减小,减少芯片组数量,降低车载芯片的成本。 相较于汽车,英伟达的“立命之本”游戏却没有那么得意。 过去,游戏业务几乎是英伟达最主要的营收板块,即便上个季度被数据中心超过,游戏业务也占总营收的四成以上。但在刚刚过去的二季度,英伟达游戏业务收入降至20.4亿美元,营收占比也跌至三成。并且,英伟达给出的三季度指引中,游戏业务的收入还将继续下降。 值得一提的是,此次英伟达还首次推出了“元宇宙”云平台Omniverse Cloud,设计师可以一键体验3D工作流的协同合作,无需任何本地算力,机器人研究员也可以通过该平台对AI赋能对智能机器进行训练和仿真、测试,英伟达已经向西门子等用户开放了Omniverse Cloud平台。 在黄仁勋看来,元宇宙是一个物理世界的模拟引擎,可将数字世界与物理世界连接起来。“它的本质是数字双胞胎,可以让AI和机器人技术触及真实世界。我们必须在将元宇宙应用于物理世界之前,反复进行测试。”黄仁勋表示。 与此同时,英伟达的数据中心业务近年来因增长迅猛而受到关注,数据中心芯片可用于包括自然语言处理在内的人工智能处理需求。
