There are concerns about the effectiveness of the treatment.\nPiper Sandler analyst Christopher Raymond said in a note to clients on Friday that he shared some of those concerns but that Aduhelm would still be a winner for Biogen’s business. Raymond upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral.\n“Despite our misgivings regarding FDA’s handling of the Aduhelm approval, we find two new data points too positive to ignore, and thus believe the path of least resistance on this stock is decidedly higher,” the note said.\nThose positive data points include a survey that shows strong demand and expected uptake for the drug, despite concerns about its effectiveness, and an expectation that Medicare and Medicaid will not significantly limit the available patient base for reimbursement, Piper Sandler said.\n“Combining this with what we see as a low-probability but still completely free call option that Biogen wins on appeal with the Tecfidera IP case, we think the stock is likely to go higher in the near term,” the note said.\nThe firm hiked its price target to $450 from $384, representing upside of 17% from where the stock closed on Thursday.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"BIIB":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1808,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"defaultTab":"posts","isTTM":false}
