The Windows Phone was very short-lived. It missed out on one market but didn't make the same mistake again. It's doing well as it positions itself to be a cloud leader. Will $IBM go through the same cycle? Who knows. IBM's share price has been stuck for a long time but not as long as Microsoft's. If history is of any indication, IBM bulls will need to be patient for a few more years at least. If you're not in a hurry for share price appreciation and happy with the steady dividend, by all means wait it out. For myself,

We may see a repeat of last week where Friday dipped - no shorts covering means less to no shares available. No news means no pressure on those shorts to cover their bad bet. Shorts not covering = less ACTUAL shares available Small share pool = option houses working AGAINST call contract holders (if there are no shares out there, it is difficult to exercise a call contract - easier to let those fall out of the than open up the pandora's box on the entire market and lay it bare for the public to see) Lots of $9 and $10 calls out there, so there is an incentive at this point for the powers that be to keep this below $9 for the moment.
