Yiren Digital said Thursday its board approved a new $20 million share repurchase program, allowing it to buy back up to 10% of its outstanding shares or American depositary shares over the next 12 months.The company said it may repurchase shares through open-market purchases, privately negotiated transactions, block trades, or other permitted methods.Yiren Digital said it will fund the buybacks with its existing cash balance.

Yiren Digital said Monday that Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ning Tang boosted his indirect stake in the company to about 82.0% from 35.6%.The shift occurred after a structural reorganization at the firm's controlling stakeholder, CreditEase Holdings, the company said. Tang now holds the entire equity interest in that controlling business.The ownership changes will not alter the daily operations, leadership, corporate strategy, or governance of the company, Yiren Digital said.
