Announcement","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1129201185","media":"investorplace","summary":"Xenetic Biosciences(NASDAQ:XBIO) is continuing a great month for itself. The company is seeing a hea","content":"
Xenetic Biosciences(NASDAQ:XBIO) is continuing a great month for itself. The company is seeing a healthy boost this morning on news of a private placement funding round, just days after it was carried higher by a partners’ expansion news. So, what are the details around this lucrative sale that are allowing XBIO stock to shoot upward again today?
\n
Xenetic is a biopharmaceutical outlet based in Massachusetts; the company specializes primarily in the development and production of cell-based therapeutics that target tumors. The company has been on investors’ radar since last week. XBIO stock shot upward upon announcement that exclusive licensing partner Takeda Pharmaceuticals(NYSE:TAK) would beexpanding its Thousand Oaks facility. This particular facility in California happens to be where Takeda manufactures its biologic products. Since Xenetic’s PolyXen drug-delivery platform is crucial to the manufacturing process, it sent XBIO stock soaring.
\n
XBIO is up once again today, although this news is entirely the product of Xenetic, rather than a partner. The company isannouncing a coming private placementworth $12.5 million. The company will be selling over 4.6 million XBIO shares to a single healthcare-focused investor. These shares are trading at $2.70 each, per the announcement. The agreement with this institutional investor additionally sees the issuance of warrants to purchase up to 4.6 million shares of common stock at $3.30 a share.
\n
XBIO Stock Bolstered by Private Sale
\n
The potential proceeds of this sale could be as high as $15.3 million for Xenetic’s balance sheet. The company says it will use all proceeds for general working capital purposes. The company is seeing a healthy boost this morning on news of a private placement funding round, just days after it was carried higher by a partners’ expansion news. So, what are the details around this lucrative sale that are allowing XBIO stock to shoot upward again today?\nXenetic is a biopharmaceutical outlet based in Massachusetts; the company specializes primarily in the development and production of cell-based therapeutics that target tumors. Since Xenetic’s PolyXen drug-delivery platform is crucial to the manufacturing process, it sent XBIO stock soaring.\nXBIO is up once again today, although this news is entirely the product of Xenetic, rather than a partner. The company isannouncing a coming private placementworth $12.5 million. The company will be selling over 4.6 million XBIO shares to a single healthcare-focused investor. These shares are trading at $2.70 each, per the announcement. The agreement with this institutional investor additionally sees the issuance of warrants to purchase up to 4.6 million shares of common stock at $3.30 a share.\nXBIO Stock Bolstered by Private Sale\nThe potential proceeds of this sale could be as high as $15.3 million for Xenetic’s balance sheet. The company says it will use all proceeds for general working capital purposes. And although we don’t yet know who the investor in this sale is, it’s promising to see hefty institutional support.\nThe sale is working wonders for XBIO stock today. With share prices at 10-year l","content":"
Last year’s market crash created some wonderful buying opportunities. With share prices at 10-year lows, I found plenty of attractive dividend stocks to buy.
\n
Although the rapid market recovery has been great for my portfolio, it means I missed out on some bargains. Today, I’m going to look at two dividend stocks I’d really like to buy if the market crashes again.
\n
Hydrogen and batteries
\n
I’m pretty certain that hydrogen fuel cells and batteries will replace diesel and petrol in most vehicles over the next couple of decades. My pick for exposure to these fast-growing sectors is FTSE 100 group JOHNSON MATTHEY PLC.
\n
This industrial group is best known today for producing catalytic converters used in diesel and petrol engines. But the company is now developing the next generation of technology, as it’s done several times before in its204-year history.
\n
Catalytic converters are still profitable and generate plenty of cash for the group. This is being reinvested in hydrogen and battery development. Unlike many loss-making start-ups, JMAT already has strong relationships with large car manufacturers. The company also has a track record of large-scale industrial production. I reckon it’s in a good position to take the lead on clean technology.
\n
The main risk I can see is that Johnson Matthey will fail to develop the winning products for the next generation of vehicles. This could cause profits to slump for years as the firm tries to catch up.
\n
Personally, I’m willing to back this company’s long history of successful innovation. I see JMAT as an ideal dividend stock to buy for long-term exposure (and income) from clean power technologies.
\n
A safe dividend stock to buy in uncertain times?
\n
Johnson Matthey’s future relies on the company developing the right products at the right time and it may not be easy.
\n
However, I reckon things are a little simpler for my second company, DOMINO'S PIZZA GROUP PLC. This business knows what its customers want and how to make it.
\n
Domino’s traded well last year, for obvious reasons. Sales rose by 11.4% to £1,348.4m, whilepre-tax profitrose by 2.5% to £101.2m. Profits would have been higher, but the company spent £9m on Covid-19 costs, such as PPE and cleaning, to help support its franchisees.
\n
The main challenge for this FTSE 250 group is to find ways to sell more pizzas to more people. That’s become an issue in recent years. The company has clashed with its franchisees — who own and run its branches — over costs and plans for new openings.
\n
Fixing this dispute would be a big win for CEO Dominic Paul. After a long period of stalemate, the company said in March it had tabled a new offer “in an attempt to reset” the relationship. There’s no word yet on progress, but as far as I can see it’s in everyone’s interest to get a solution. So I’m hopeful.
\n
In the meantime, Domino’s share price has risen by 30% over the last year and by 60% over the last two years. With share prices at 10-year lows, I found plenty of attractive dividend stocks to buy.\nAlthough the rapid market recovery has been great for my portfolio, it means I missed out on some bargains. Today, I’m going to look at two dividend stocks I’d really like to buy if the market crashes again.\nHydrogen and batteries\nI’m pretty certain that hydrogen fuel cells and batteries will replace diesel and petrol in most vehicles over the next couple of decades. My pick for exposure to these fast-growing sectors is FTSE 100 group JOHNSON MATTHEY PLC.\nThis industrial group is best known today for producing catalytic converters used in diesel and petrol engines. But the company is now developing the next generation of technology, as it’s done several times before in its204-year history.\nCatalytic converters are still profitable and generate plenty of cash for the group. This is being reinvested in hydrogen and battery development. Unlike many loss-making start-ups, JMAT already has strong relationships with large car manufacturers. The company also has a track record of large-scale industrial production. I reckon it’s in a good position to take the lead on clean technology.\nThe main risk I can see is that Johnson Matthey will fail to develop the winning products for the next generation of vehicles. This could cause profits to slump for years as the firm tries to catch up.\nPersonally, I’m willing to back this company’s long history of successful innovation. I see JMAT as an ideal dividend stock to buy for long-term exposure (and income) from clean power technologies.\nA safe dividend stock to buy in uncertain times?\nJohnson Matthey’s future relies on the company developing the right products at the right time and it may not be easy.\nHowever, I reckon things are a little simpler for my second company, DOMINO'S PIZZA GROUP PLC. This business knows what its customers want and how to make it.\nDomino’s traded well last year, for obvious reasons. Sales rose by 11.4% to £1,348.4m, whilepre-tax profitrose by 2.5% to £101.2m. Profits would have been higher, but the company spent £9m on Covid-19 costs, such as PPE and cleaning, to help support its franchisees.\nThe main challenge for this FTSE 250 group is to find ways to sell more pizzas to more people. That’s become an issue in recent years. The company has clashed with its franchisees — who own and run its branches — over costs and plans for new openings.\nFixing this dispute would be a big win for CEO Dominic Paul. After a long period of stalemate, the company said in March it had tabled a new offer “in an attempt to reset” the relationship. There’s no word yet on progress, but as far as I can see it’s in everyone’s interest to get a solution. So I’m hopeful.\nIn the meantime, Domino’s share price has risen by 30% over the last year and by 60% over the last two years. This has left the stock trading on 20 times forecast earnings, with a dividend yield of 2.5%. I think the shares are probably up with events for now, but this is a dividend stock I’d been keen to buy on any market dips.\nMarkets around the world are reeling from the coronavirus pandemic…\nAnd with so many great companies trading at what look to be ‘discount-bin’ prices, now could be the time for savvy investors to snap up some potential bargains.\nBut whether you’re a newbie investor or a seasoned pro, deciding which stocks to add to your shopping list can be daunting prospect during such unprecedented times.\nFortunately, The Motley Fool is here to help: our UK Chief Investment Officer and his analyst team have short-listed five companies that they believe STILL boast significant long-term growth prospects despite the global lock-down…\nYou see, here at The Motley Fool we don’t believe “over-trading” is the right path to financial freedom in retirement; instead, we advocate buying and holding (for AT LEAST three to five years) 15 or more quality companies, with shareholder-focused management teams at the helm.\nThat’s why we’re sharing the names of all five of these companies in a special investing report.
