Invesco became the latest on Wednesday, announcing a pair of funds packed with crypto-linked equities.</p>\n<p>It’s the only way U.S. firms can cash in on the unrelenting clamor for digital coins, and it may stay that way for a while. The SEC has already delayed its decision to approve or deny a Bitcoin ETF once this year and is expected to punt again at its next deadline on June 17.</p>\n<p>“There’s clearly strong demand from investors for exposure to the price of Bitcoin, and ETF issuers are simply looking to meet that demand,” said Nate Geraci, president of the ETF Store, an advisory firm. “The SEC is essentially forcing ETF issuers into the laboratory to create these Frankenstein products.”</p>\n<p>The Frankenfunds’ creators are being rewarded for their efforts. For instance, the Bitwise Crypto Industry Innovators ETF (ticker BITQ) has already drawn about $45 million in assets less than a month after its launch. That fund holds crypto-heavy companies like MicroStrategy Inc., Coinbase Global Inc., and Galaxy Digital Holdings Ltd.</p>\n<p>Then there’s a slate of older products finding new life amid the coin craze. The <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/BLOK\">Amplify Transformational Data Sharing ETF</a> (BLOK), an actively-managed fund with stocks like MicroStrategy and <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/PYPL\">PayPal</a> Holdings Inc., attracted more than $711 million this year already, as its price has risen 30%. A peer fund called the First Trust Indxx Innovative Transaction &amp; Process ETF (LEGR), which invests in companies using or developing blockchain technology, is on pace for its best year of inflows yet.</p>\n<p>“There is a high demand for a Bitcoin product that has all the features that people love about ETFs -- that they trade on an exchange, that they’re liquid,” said Ross Mayfield, investment strategy analyst at Robert W. Baird &amp; Co.</p>\n<p><b>Biggest Player Yet</b></p>\n<p>Invesco is the largest fund manager yet to try the workaround tactic, with its Invesco Galaxy Blockchain Economy ETF and Invesco Galaxy Crypto Economy ETF, each holding about 85% of their assets in crypto-linked equities and the rest in trusts and funds that hold cryptocurrencies.</p>\n<p><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/TWOA.U\">Two</a> days before the Invesco filing, there was an application for the Volt Bitcoin Revolution ETF, which would include companies with Bitcoin exposure. At least 80% of its assets will be in firms that either have Bitcoin on their balance sheet or are developing or using products within the crypto ecosystem, as well as options on those firms and ETFs that have exposure to them.</p>\n<p>More funds tracking the crypto industry -- instead of actual Bitcoin -- may debut in the coming months, as the SEC continues to voice concerns about the market. Thus far, the reasonably robust box office total, under restricted seating capacity and a simultaneous release on a streaming service, is good news for AMC.</p>\n<p>In contrast, <i>A Quiet Place 2</i> is opening under a 45-day exclusive theatrical window. Box office totals for the film, released on the same weekend as <i>Cruella,</i> come to $138 million worldwide.</p>\n<p>The outperformance of <i>A Quiet Place 2</i> could be due to the film's exclusive availability at theaters. However, it would be reasonable to expect some folks deciding to watch <i>Cruella</i> on Disney+. Still, getting visitors back inside movie theaters is a win for AMC.</p>\n<p>Moreover, <i>F9: The Fast Saga</i>, another part of the successful <i>Fast and Furious</i> film franchise, is set to be released in U.S. theaters on June 25. The ninth installment has already been successful elsewhere in the world, grossing over $250 million at the international box office.</p>\n<p>With a few more blockbusters coming into theaters soon, this could be a summer of recovery for AMC.</p>\n<h3>What this could mean for investors</h3>\n<p>That could be a huge gain for the company's efforts in removing cash flow problems. AMC burned through $312.9 million in cash in the most recent quarter. That's a rate of about $104 million per month. AMC has to pay rent on its movie theaters whether it has people in the seats or not. Since most of its costs are fixed, getting viewers in attendance generates positive cash flow for AMC even if it remains in negative net-income territory.</p>\n<p>On average, an AMC moviegoer spends 72% of the price of a ticket on food and beverage. Add in the fact that AMC makes more in operating profit from viewers buying food and beverage than it does from ticket sales, and AMC could be generating positive cash flow from operations by the end of the second quarter. That is, of course, if there are no further disruptions from a resurgence of coronavirus cases.</p>\n<p>The increase in cash flow, combined with the $1.246 billion in equity capital it has raised in recent months, should go a long way toward shoring up AMC's balance sheet and giving the battered movie theater chain more time to recover from the devastations of the coronavirus pandemic. Other HomeKit-enabled gadgets include air conditioners, video cameras, motion sensors, doorbells and lights.\nFor Apple, this strategy aims to position iPhone and Apple Watch as controllers for a wide variety of in-home functions, making them more valuable to current customers and discouraging them from switching to an Android phone when it is time to upgrade. Apple's smart home strategy could also boost Apple TV or HomePod sales, as these devices can be used as the smart home's hub.\n'Hey Siri' comes home\nPerhaps the biggest smart home announcement at WWDC for iOS 15, which will be released this fall, is that Apple said it planned to open up Siri, its voice assistant, to work with third-party smart home gadgets such asEcobee's Smart Thermostatlater this year. Soon, users will be able to say \"Hey Siri\" to non-Apple gadgets — matching an ability thatGoogle's Assistant andAmazonAlexa were already capable of.\n\"While we don't believe that Siri is a major reason why people buy Apple products, we do believe that the expansion of Siri into third-party devices could help drive the use of Siri and help support Apple's push into the smart home market,\" Deutsche Bank analyst Sidney Ho wrote in a note this week.\nThrough a supported third-party device such as the Smart Thermostat, users will be able to call Siri and send messages, add reminders, and even use family members' iPhones, Apple Watches and HomePods as an intercom.\nThere is one catch, though — the feature requires a HomePod or HomePod mini. Essentially, the third-party Siri gadget passes messages to the HomePod for processing.\nApple will also allow users to unlock their front door or garage with their iPhone — if the user has a compatible smart lock installed. While Apple didn't announce any devices this week, it did display a slide that said that top lock vendors such as Schlage and Aqara will support the feature.\nThere were also smaller, more incremental updates that users will appreciate. HomeKit can use Siri to schedule events, such as turning on smart lights every day at 7 a.m. Cameras can identify when a package has been delivered. Users can monitor HomeKit cameras on an Apple TV in full-screen mode and easily turn on lights or activate other gadgets in the scene.\nMost intriguingly, Apple has started to bundle one of the key smart home features as a paid service. Cameras are one of the most important smart home gadgets, and Apple is relying heavily on its privacy pitch to stand out against competitors such as Amazon's Ring, noting that it stores the raw footage in an encrypted, private way on iCloud called HomeKit Secure Video.\nTo get the most out of this feature, users will be required to subscribe to the upper-end iCloud service, which costs $9.99 per month for 2TB of storage. And, unlike Amazon, Apple does not make its own smart cameras, but relies on partners such as Logitech.\nFor the 50 third-party hardware makerswho support these features, HomeKit allows them reach a generally wealthy group of consumers without having to do a lot of the hard technical legwork to enable basic functionality. But it also means that they have to participate inApple's MFi accessory program, which means that Apple can exercise some control over what they launch through the program contract.\nApplesaid this week that it is backing Matter, a standard that is designed to allow smart home gadgets to work together, and Apple said it contributed some open-source HomeKit code. Amazon, Google and Samsung are also participating in the standard.\nIn a video session Thursday, Apple engineers said the goal for Matter is to ensure that smart home devices remain compatible for years to come and to make it easier to develop new gadgets and apps. Shares of Alibaba are in the red over the past year, while the S&amp;P 500 has ripped higher, gaining 32%.</p>\n<p>Alibaba has been caught in some controversy surrounding thefailed IPOof Ant Group and its founderJack Ma. While the market has focused on these distractions, the actual underlying business of Alibaba is performing at a high level. With strong fundamentals and rapidly growing free cash flow, it's only a matter of time before the market begins to focus on what matters...the business. We will outline our investment thesis below.</p>\n<p><b>Free Cash Flow Growth Is Stellar</b></p>\n<p>Alibaba is a frequently covered business on Seeking Alpha, so I won't rehash the basics about the business or dive into the political controversy that has plagued the stock. Instead, I want to focus on the financial inflection point that Alibaba has recently hit.</p>\n<p>The company ended its fiscal year at the end of March. While its commerce segment continues to narrate revenue growth (total core commerce grew 2020 revenues 42% versus company revenues growing 41%), some smaller segments are showing strong growth.</p>\n<p>For example, Alibaba's cloud computing operations grew 50% in 2020, and its new retail and direct sales businesses grew 94% year-over-year. What is most promising is that Alibaba is accelerating its free cash flow growth in recent years. The company's $26.35 billion in 2021 FCF is a 29% year-over-year jump from 2020. Alibaba is currently trading with an FCF yield approaching 6%. By comparison, the next highest FCF yield is Amazon (AMZN), with a yield of just 1.3%.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3423f615c0dc856b040442e4ff17b78f\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"521\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\">source: YCharts</p>\n<p>This is a tremendous discount to Alibaba's peer group, despite the company accelerating FCF growth and having a ton of cash on hand. If we apply the company's 24% conversion rate of revenue to FCF, that will give us 2024 FCF of $50 billion. In other words, an FCF yield of 8.6% on today's share price. This is simply something you don't often see for a company's stock growing so rapidly at such an already large size.</p>\n<p>The stock is clearly being punished for some of the drama that Alibaba has faced over the past year and some of the current tension between the United States and China. This is a risk that investors need to keep in mind, as anything can happen, and Alibaba may become collateral damage of political conflict. However, if it becomes clear to the market that the outlook is promising, Alibaba could aggressively rerate. Even if Alibaba saw its FCF yield fall to around 3%, it would imply an upside in shares of 46%. This would put Alibaba at an enterprise value of more than $800 billion, but I believe those shoes the company could certainly fill.</p>\n<p><b>Wrapping Up</b></p>\n<p>Alibaba is a fantastic business that has been caught up in some political drama. Despite its size, the company is growing rapidly, is profitable, and generates tons of free cash flow. The stock is down 30.1% from its recent peak on Feb 16.</p><p>The price due to be set in Hong Kong is a 5.5% discount to the U.S. closing price on Monday.</p><p>Four Hong Kong shares are equal to one of the company's ADRs, according to the deal's terms.</p><p>A maximum price of HK$251.8 per share had been flagged when the deal launched last week which would have raised up to $983 million.</p><p>Autohome has the option of selling an extra 4.54 million shares as part of a so-called greenshoe option to increase the size of its fundraising.
