href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/TSLA\">Tesla Motors stock dropped in response to comments fromwould-be rival Lucid Motors (coming public via special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Churchill Capital Corp IV (NYSE:CCIV) soon), whose CEO Peter Rawlinson boasted that his company's new \"Air\" electric vehicle would be more efficient than a Tesla Model S and steal away $900 million in sales that might otherwise have gone to Tesla.
\n
Tesla stock dropped on this reminder of increased competition, so I guess it makes sense that today, we're seeing Tesla stock rise in response to news than some other competition is falling further behind in this race.
\n
<img customer Amazon.com and still plans to put a first installment of 10,000 electric Amazon vans on the road \"as early as next year.\" But the good news for Tesla is that, with Rivian focusing on keeping its most important customer happy, Tesla won't have to compete with a new electric-pickup truck for a few more months now.
\n
Now what
\n
This is really unalloyed good news for Tesla. I mean, Amazon had already tapped Rivian to build a total of 100,000 electric-delivery vans for its armies of parcel-toting delivery drivers. This wasn't business Tesla was going to win away even if Rivian had to delay production of these vans.
\n
Where Tesla can still compete in the electric-truck (as opposed to the electric-car) market is on sales to individual consumers, and that's the competition that has been pushed back a bit by Rivian's production delays.
\n
Granted, there's still Ford, General Motors, and a whole host of other would-be electric-car companiesall coming down the pike. Let’s take a look at what we can expect this week in the Macro, Tesla, and Technical world.
\n
Macro Outlook:
\n
The Nasdaq 100 ($NDX) underperformed the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index ($DJI) last week. This movement coincided with an increase in the 10-year bond yield indicating inflation fears for investors. Supporting fears for inflation, the Consumer Price Indexdataannounced on Tuesday, July 13thwas thelargestyear-over-year jump since August 2008. China’s COVID-19 Delta variant outbreak is also a concern. The strain appeared to be isolated to the Guangdong Province which resulted inlockdowns but, has since spread. Expansion of lockdowns into Shanghai may result in the closure of factories.
\n
Tesla Catalysts:
\n
Tesla’s Q2 earnings call is exactly one week away. Let’s take a look at what we can expect this week in the Macro, Tesla, and Technical world.\nMacro Outlook:\nThe Nasdaq 100 ($NDX) underperformed the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index ($DJI) last week. Expansion of lockdowns into Shanghai may result in the closure of factories.\nTesla Catalysts:\nTesla’s Q2 earnings call is exactly one week away. The S&P 500 dipped 0.75% to 4,327.16 and the Nasdaq Composite shed 0.8% to 14,427.24.\nThe three averages closed the week lower to each snap 3-week win streaks. The Dow ended the week down 0.52%, while the S&P 500 dipped 0.97% and the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.87% during the same period.\n\nA U.S.consumer sentimentindex from the University of Michigan came in at 80.8 for the first half of July, down from 85.5 last month and worse than estimates from economists, who projected an increase. The report released Friday showed inflation expectations rising, with consumers believing prices will increase 4.8% in the next year, the highest level since August 2008.\nThe Dow gave up its gains early Friday shortly after the University of Michigan report came out 30 minutes into the session. Losses increased as the day went on with major averages closing at the lows of the session.\nThe consumer sentiment weakness “is at face value hard to square with the acceleration in employment growth and the continued resilience of the stock market,” said Andrew Hunter, senior U.S. economist at Capital Economics, but the report “suggested that concerns over surging inflation are now outweighing those positive trends.”\nInflation fears\nThe market was held back all week by inflation fears although the S&P 500 and Dow did touch new all-time highs briefly. On Tuesday, theconsumer price indexshowed a 5.4% increase in June from a year ago, the fastest pace in nearly 13 years.\nStocks got off to a good start Friday with the Dow rising more than 100 points to above 35,000 shortly after the open.Data released before the bell showed retail and food service salesrose 0.6% in June, while economists surveyed by Dow Jones had expected a 0.4% decline. If that level held, it would have been the Dow’s first close ever above 35,000.\nDespite the week’s losses, the Dow is still up 13% for the year and sits just 1.15% from an all-time high. The S&P 500 is up 15% on the year and is 1.51% below its record level.\n“The market looks broadly fairly valued to me, with most stocks priced to provide a market rate of return plus or minus a few percent,” Bill Miller, chairman and chief investment officer of Miller Value Partners, said in an investor letter.\n“There are pockets of what look like appreciable over-valuation and pockets of significant undervaluation in the US market, in my opinion. We can find plenty of names to fill our portfolios and so remain fully invested,” the value investor added.\nEnergy correction\nEnergy stocks, the hottest part of the market in 2021, fell into correction territory on Friday as oil prices pulled back from their highs.\nThe Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund fell more than 2% on Friday, the worst of any group, dropping 14% from its high. Still, the sector is up about 28% in 2021, making it the top performer of any of the 11 main industry groups.\nWeaker performance from technology stocks also weighed on the market Friday. Shares of Apple closed 1.4% lower afternotching a record closejust two days prior. Netflix shares fell ahead of the streaming giant’s second-quarter earnings report next week.\nInvestors digested strong earnings results from the first major week of second-quarter reports. Though some of the nation’s largest companies posted healthy earnings and revenues amid the economic recovery, the reaction in the stock market has so far been muted.\nThe Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund ended the week 1.5% lower despite big profit growth numbers posted by the likes of JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America.\n“Good earnings might have become an excuse for some investors to take profit. And with earnings expectations so high in general, it takes a really big beat for a company to impress,” JJ Kinahan, TD Ameritrade chief market strategist, said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2382,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":170849715,"gmtCreate":1626422799637,"gmtModify":1631885054559,"author":{"id":"3585052080143194","authorId":"3585052080143194","name":"at135","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ea45d79a9d6d7c04e491b769a6ce1d0d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3585052080143194","authorIdStr":"3585052080143194"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[开心] ","listText":"[开心] ","text":"[开心]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/170849715","repostId":"2151573133","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1002,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":147667474,"gmtCreate":1626356652598,"gmtModify":1631885054574,"author":{"id":"3585052080143194","authorId":"3585052080143194","name":"at135","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ea45d79a9d6d7c04e491b769a6ce1d0d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3585052080143194","authorIdStr":"3585052080143194"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"No","listText":"No","text":"No","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/147667474","repostId":"1117337273","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1117337273","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1626356441,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1117337273?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-07-15 21:40","market":"us","language":"en","title":"GameStop? The fact is, as James “Rev Shark” DePorre notes in Real Money, the meme trading movement is hardly new and not nearly as efficient as the mass media has led average investors to believe.
\n
\"The business media likes to portray meme trading as something new, but this sort of trading has been part of markets from their very beginning hundreds of years ago. There will also be groups that question the conventional wisdom of the professionals that control the market. The fact is, as James “Rev Shark” DePorre notes in Real Money, the meme trading movement is hardly new and not nearly as efficient as the mass media has led average investors to believe.\n\"The business media likes to portray meme trading as something new, but this sort of trading has been part of markets from their very beginning hundreds of years ago. There will also be groups that question the conventional wisdom of the professionals that control the market. It is no surprise at all that there are small traders with limited capital who have no interest in the idea that they should hold a diversified portfolio of stocks for the long term.\"\nThe recent surge in social media trading was caused by a perfect storm of circumstances, according to DePorre. \"The pandemic created a combination of more free time, a need for entertainment, free cash payment, and better social networking.
