Shares of the digital asset wallet company Bakkt Holdings(NYSE:BKKT)fell nearly 18%.So whatMinutes from the Fed's December meeting sent the market into a free-fall, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average going from being up on the day just before 2 p.m. ET to ending the day down 400 points. The Nasdaq Composite took the minutes even harder, going from being down some in the afternoon to ending the day down 3.34%.Investors have been heavily adapting their trading strategies since November. That's because the Fed has indicated that it plans to wind down the bond purchases that it began early in the pandemic potentially as soon as March, and then potentially raise its benchmark overnight borrowing rate multiple times this year.IMAGE SOURCE: GETTY IMAGES.The surprise in the Fed's recent meeting minutes came from the fact that members of the Fed are considering decreasing the size of its balance sheet, which is now close to $9 trillion. \"Almost all participants agreed that it would likely be appropriate to initiate balance sheet runoff at some point after the first increase in the target range for the federal funds rate,\" the Fed's minutes stated. The minutes also stated that \"the decision to initiate runoff would be data dependent.\"Jay Hatfield, CEO of Infrastructure Capital Management, said that balance sheet runoff would be \"disastrous,\" according to CNBC. \"I assume that they're going to keep the balance sheet flat, but it is possible if inflation stays really hot that they start letting the balance sheet run off,\" he said. When the Fed reduces its balance sheet, that means it's selling assets like Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities back into the market, which effectively removes liquidity. Yesterday, for example, data analytics company Lynxhighlighted the more than two dozen new chips that AMD will bring to market in 2022, with emphasis on the Radeon RX 6000S and RX 6000M chips for gaming laptops. And IGN seemed particularly impressed by the prospect of Nvidia bringing to market a new \"RTX 3090 Ti\" chip with \"24GB of GDDR6X VRAM and 40 teraflops of GPU performance.\"Translating the tech-speak into English, IGN helpfully explained that this chip, when it comes to market, will be \"roughly 11% faster than its non-Ti RTX 3090 variant.\"Now whatAt least one analyst still thinks the advantage lies with Intel, however. In a note out this morning, Northland Capital Markets said it isupgradingIntel stock to outperform based on its view that Intel has laid out for investors a coherent strategy to reverse its decline \"for the first time in many years,\" reportsStreetInsider.com.Beyond just Intel's efforts to compete with AMD and Nvidia in graphics, Northland believes that Intel is upping its game in basic chip technology, to the point that it could \"significantly reduce the AMD/INTC performance gap if not eliminate it in 2023.\" Northland sees Intel collaborating with Taiwan Semiconductor on production of next generation 3 nm and even 2 nm semiconductors, and refocusing its internal efforts on \"manufacturing [static random access memory chips] which dominate modern CPU die area.\"More significant for investors, Northland simply thinks that Intel stock at less than 10 times earnings is a better bargain than \"high multiple stocks\" such as AMD (which costs 43 times earnings today) and Nvidia (which costs 93 times earnings). In contrast to its pricier rivals, which may suffer from \"multiple compression\" this year (i.e., investors may not want to pay high multiples of earnings to own the stocks, resulting in falling stock prices), low-priced Intel stock could rise as much as 14% in value over the course of the next year.Investors who watched their Intel shares underperform the market all year long in 2021 can only hope that Northland is right about that, and that Intel will finally reverse its slump in 2022.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"INTC":0.9,"AMD":0.9,"NVDA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3343,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":695282934,"gmtCreate":1641474267779,"gmtModify":1641474267865,"author":{"id":"4087711900619250","authorId":"4087711900619250","name":"Moneywizpd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/580bebc047322cc7965ae0543c54168a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4087711900619250","idStr":"4087711900619250"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Cool","listText":"Cool","text":"Cool","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/695282934","repostId":"2201237432","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3521,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":695286752,"gmtCreate":1641474204873,"gmtModify":1641474205008,"author":{"id":"4087711900619250","authorId":"4087711900619250","name":"Moneywizpd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/580bebc047322cc7965ae0543c54168a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4087711900619250","idStr":"4087711900619250"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"😅","listText":"😅","text":"😅","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/695286752","repostId":"1181451509","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1181451509","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1641459895,"share":"https://www.laohunote.com/m/news/1181451509?lang=zh_CN&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-01-06 17:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Alibaba Rose 2% in Premarket Trading
阿里巴巴-SW盘前交易中上涨 2%
","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1181451509","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Alibaba rose 2% in premarket trading. Higher interest rates, which counter inflation, are also sparking fears of an economic slowdown and causing investors to rotate from dividend stocks toward lower-risk bonds.\nFaced with these challenges, it might seem like a bad idea to buy dividend-paying tech stocks. However, these four tech dividend stocks should remain resilient and easily withstand the upcoming inflation-related challenges.\nImage source: Apple.\n1. Apple\nApple only pays a forward dividend yield of 0.5%, but its lowpayout ratioof 15% indicates there's still plenty of room for much higher payments. Apple's stock price has risen nearly 270% over the past three years, but it still doesn't look terribly expensive at 29 times forward earnings.\nApple is an inflation-resistant company for two simple reasons. First, it has the clout to negotiate more favorable prices from its suppliers. Second, it probably won't lose a lot of its loyal customers if it charges higher prices for its hardware since they're already firmly locked into its software ecosystem.\nApple has also consistently executed big stock buybacks, which have reduced its outstanding shares by nearly 22% over the past five years. Spending more cash on those buybacks, which boosts the value of its remaining shares, is a better strategy than letting its cash stagnate in an inflationary environment.\nApple will face a near-term slowdown as it grapples with supply chain constraints, but its long-term outlook is still bright. Its services ecosystem continues to expand, and it will eventually expand into new next-gen markets like augmented reality, virtual reality, and connected cars.\n2. Verizon\nVerizon pays a forward dividend yield of 5%. The telecom giant has raised that dividend annually for 15 straight years, and it's spent less than half of its earnings per share on those payments over the past 12 months. The stock also trades at just nine times forward earnings.\nAt first glance, Verizon seems like a lackluster investment. It's declined more than 10% over the past three years as the S&P 500 has risen nearly 70%.\nHowever, Verizon's stock will likely remain stable as rising inflation and higher interest rates rattle the markets. As the largest wireless carrier in the U.S., Verizon can likely pass on most of its higher costs onto consumers without significantly increasing its churn rates. It's also a more streamlined company than AT&T, which is still trying toundo the damageof the debt-fueled expansions of its media and pay-TV ecosystems.\nVerizon's stable returns, sticky ecosystem, high dividend, and low valuation will all make it an ideal safe-haven stock in an inflationary market.\n3. Qualcomm\nQualcomm, one of the world's largest mobile chipmakers, pays a forward dividend yield of 1.5%. It's raised its annual payout over the past two years, and it's only spent about a third of its earnings on its dividends over the past 12 months.\nQualcomm's two main businesses are both well-insulated from inflation. Its Snapdragon system on chips (SoCs), which bundle together a mobile CPU, GPU, and baseband modem, power most of the world's high-end smartphones. They can also be found in virtual reality headsets, cars, and drones. The secular growth of those markets will give Qualcomm plenty of pricing power.\nIts licensing business, which leverages its portfolio of wireless patents to earn a cut of every smartphone sold worldwide, also generates a stable stream of high-margin revenue. It then plows a large portion of that excess cash into big buybacks and dividends.\nQualcomm's stock has already risen more than 200% as investors have recognized those long-term strengths, but it still looks cheap at 17 times forward earnings.\n4. Texas Instruments\nTexas Instruments manufactures a wide range of analog and embedded chips for consumer electronics, cars, industrial machines, and other markets. These chips aren't as powerful as Qualcomm's mobile chips, but they're just as essential and less capital-intensive to produce.\nUnlike Qualcomm, which outsources the production of its chips to third-party foundries, TI manufactures its own chips in-house. That business model insulates it from the ongoing chip shortage, and its cost-cutting migration from 200mm to 300mm wafers over the past few years enabled it to significantly reduce its own manufacturing costs and boost its gross margins.\nTI's business is naturally resistant to inflation since it has much better control over its own supply chain and operating expenses than other chipmakers, and it generates plenty of excess cash for buybacks and dividends. It reduced its number of outstanding shares by 46% between 2004 and 2020, and it's raised its dividend annually for 18 straight years. It currently pays a forward dividend yield of 2.4%, which is supported by a sustainable payout ratio of 52%.\nTI's stock has more than doubled over the past three years, but it still trades at 23 times forward earnings. That reasonable valuation, along with its healthy yield and stable business, makes TI a reliable and inflation-resistant tech stock.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TXN":0.9,"QCOM":0.9,"AAPL":0.9,"VZ":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3247,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":606510189,"gmtCreate":1638891484136,"gmtModify":1638891484215,"author":{"id":"4087711900619250","authorId":"4087711900619250","name":"Moneywizpd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/580bebc047322cc7965ae0543c54168a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4087711900619250","idStr":"4087711900619250"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"👍","listText":"👍","text":"👍","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/606510189","repostId":"1102393012","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1102393012","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1638882198,"share":"https://www.laohunote.com/m/news/1102393012?lang=zh_CN&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-12-07 21:03","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Toplines Before US Market Open on Tuesday
周二美国市场开盘前的顶线
","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1102393012","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"U.S. stocks looked set to open 1% higher on Tuesday as technology firms bounced back on easing conce","content":"
U.S. stocks looked set to open 1% higher on Tuesday as technology firms bounced back on easing concerns around the Omicron variant, while Intel jumped after plans to take its self-driving car unit public.

由于科技公司因对奥密克戎变体的担忧缓解而反弹,美国股市周二开盘似乎将上涨 1%,而英特尔在计划将其自动驾驶汽车部门上市后股价上涨。

At 8:00 a.m. ET, Dow e-minis were up 350 points, or 0.99%, S&P 500 e-minis were up 59.75 points, or 1.30%, and Nasdaq 100 e-minis were up 286.25 points, or 1.81%.

Big Tech stocks Google-owner Alphabet,Microsoft, Amazon,Meta Platform and Apple gained nearly 2%.

谷歌母公司 Alphabet、微软、亚马逊、Meta Platform 和苹果等大型科技股上涨近 2%。

Travel shares continued the momentum, with Carnival Corp and United Airlines up 3.6% and 3.4%, respectively, leading the gains among the major airlines and cruise operators.

旅游股延续势头,嘉年华公司和联合航空公司分别上涨3.6%和3.4%,领涨主要航空公司和邮轮运营商。

Oil stocks including Exxon Mobil and Chevron Corp gained, tracking gains in crude prices.

埃克森美孚和雪佛龙公司等石油股跟随原油价格上涨而上涨。

Stocks making the biggest moves premarket:

盘前波动最大的股票:

Intel(INTC) – The chip maker's shares surged 8% in premarket trading after it said it would take its Mobileye self-driving car unit public, planning a mid-2022 initial public offering.
